Remembering George Carlin (04:55)Note that we revisit Robin's look into Hillary's cleavage — which, as I say in the video, has gone down in the history of sexism.

“Sex and the City”: just porn for women? (17:45)
ADDED: Hey! I got to be on the left for this one. That hasn't happened in a while. Happened way back when I diavlogged with Jonah Goldberg. Anyway, let me embed something. I think we talked about sleeves for 5 minutes. Sleeves! Ha ha. Let's see you be interesting about sleeves for 5 minutes.
AND: Here's where we review Hillary's cleavage:

Robin's voice doesn't quite synch up with her motions. It's bugging me.
But now it is. Hmm.
You aren't wearing black today! And then you start talking about Steve Jobs wearing the same thing all the time.

What about the Hillary-supporter that fashioned a statue of her with an exagerated bust? Is that also part of the history of sexism?
"Shifting erogenous zones" are you kidding? The magnetic poles have shifted more often than the fun spots on homo sapiens.
Boring left wing political fashion critic with a penchant for acerbic triteness. Moving along now.
It's about time this blog got back to the importance of breasteses in politics. I commend you, Ann.
How appropriate are the labels for this post in which the exceptionally dumb and inane Robin Givhan appears? What's never been clear to me is people like Givhan and gender kooks like Dowd get paid a living for it.
Speaking of fashion, did you get a new haircut Ann? I like it!
Hey, what ever happened to that blogginheads with Jonah Goldberg? I remember (probably incorrectly--there can be only one Ruth Ann) that there had been technical difficulties and then never heard of it again.
Folks who do workout on a regular basis, certainly and without a doubt, do not see what they are doing as “leisure,” let me assure you. It’s work. Not having flabby arms, takes work. They just don’t fall out of the sky. You have to want to do it. For myself, it’s about how I want to spend my time. Leisure time has it’s place – it’s for kicking back… and kicking back = flabby arms.
1. There are 2 Bloggingheads episodes with me and Jonah. You can search at the site and find them.
2. You need leisure time to do activities that are not your job and not obligatory. If you think the things you do are especially important or difficult, you may want to honor them with the term "work," but they do still require time, the category of time that is idiomatically called "leisure time." As I say in the video, busy people will say they don't have time to do some things they don't want to make time for. For example, do you have time to cook dinner for your family every night? Do you have time care for your clothes and dress neatly? Do you have time to drive over to the gym and move objects around for an hour? Maybe you have time for only one of those things. Is there some reason why the gym one floats to the top?
Because you can order take-out food and drop your clothes off at the cleaners..but personal fitness ..no easy way

Yes, I did that but only got the one from Dec 2006. It seems like there was one after that, but then there were technical difficulties and it wasn't mentioned again.
I guess I kind of jumped all over your use of the phrase “person of leisure.” I would not consider my self a POL. I do what I do because it’s important to my well being. For me, my fitness (emotional, spiritual and physical) is important enough for me (and consequently those around me), that it is my number one priority or obligation. Without this, my work and familial obligations are harmed. Overtime, I’ve tried to simplify – so not to be too busy to loose myself in things that aren’t really that important. I’ve pared things down enough that I make time for the things I need to do. The rest is gravy - to me, that's the leisure.
Hopefully I’ve made clear my aversion to the term “person of leisure.”
Actually,
Just looking at the 2006 blogging heads episode you and Jonah mention at the start that there was an earlier one which had technical difficulties.
From the deference Althouse pays Givhan you'd think Givhan was Moses handing down the Law. I wonder why?
Ricpic, she's an expert on fashion -- won a Pulitzer Prize for writing about it and is a big fashion diva. She follows all the details of the fashion industry. I don't!
