A woman from the governing party in Ecuador has proposed that a women's right to enjoy sexual happiness should be enshrined in the country's law.
Her suggestion has provoked a lively debate in conservative Ecuador.
Maria Soledad Vela, who is helping to rewrite the constitution, says women have traditionally been seen as mere sexual objects or child bearers.
Now, she says, women should have the right to make free, responsible and informed decisions about sex lives.

This is being ridiculed as an attempt to create a women's right to orgasms.
But I don't think that's what this is:

Why limit the right to women?
(1) It looks like I won’t live long enough to see the day people stop using the word “enshrine” as if it were synonymous with "promulgate" or "enact" or "pass" even "made."
(2) Personally, I’ve always thought a woman has the right to have an orgasm during sexual intercourse. Why else did God give me the ability to vividly imagine the head of my penis being nailed to a table top and then sliced lengthwise with a straight razor, over and over again?
Oh come on! I can’t be the only one!
Thinking about the baseball . . .it does nothing!
"Why limit the right to women?"
Because it's really about abortion?
What do we want? Government-subsidized dildoes!
When do we want them? Now!
Eh, sounded much better in the original Spanish.
Abortion? Maybe. Certainly it would cover birth control.
Orgasm is a privilege, not a right.
As a single guy with a crummy time dating, I demand my right to sexual happiness.
That's right, forget Free Government Health Care, I want Free Government Women.
Not Hillary, BTW.
Speaking of the right to orgasm, first some women need to be made aware even that the orgasm exists:
Shortly before Toby Goldfisher Kaplowitz married two years ago, she went to a kallah teacher — a woman who prepares Orthodox Jewish brides to be intimate with their husbands.
The teacher spent most of her time going over how to observe the laws prohibiting physical contact between husband and wife during the woman’s menstrual period and for a week afterward. She described sex as “‘so horrible, so painful, but said, ‘I’ll give you some tips to deal with it,’ “ Ms. Goldfisher Kaplowitz recalled.
And more horrifyingly, this:
[Bat Sheva Marcus, clinical director of the Medical Center for Female Sexuality] told the story of a young Hasidic woman who had been married two years without becoming pregnant. After seeing a fertility specialist, the woman was referred to Ms. Marcus, who discovered that the patient and her husband had no idea that they had never consummated their marriage.
“I have variations on that all the time,” Ms. Marcus said. “There’s a complete lack of information about their bodies below their navels.”

Maria Soledad translates as Mary Solitude in English.
I wonder what she does in her solitude.
Cheers,

Maria Soledad translates as Mary Solitude in English.
I wonder what she does in her solitude.
Await the resurrection of her child, apparently:
Who is Our Lady of Solitude?
Devotion to Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Solitude, was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin during her solitude on Holy Saturday, as she awaited with faith the Resurrection of her Beloved Son, the Savior of the world.

Too bad, Fatmouse - government issued, for your own good, IT'S THE LAW. Now, ask not what your c...
Never mind.
This is ridiculous. Should we make a right to all bodily functions? I have a right to pee, to spit, to fart, ... WTF, people.
And does this mean she gets to sue any man who is a bad lay?
I fully support my wife's right to an orgasm and my responsibility to ensure she exercises that right as often as possible. Now to just convince her of this....
How exactly would the government deprive women of their right orgasms?
And how exactly does one prove that the alleged orgasmer had an orgasm?
