Said just now about my nephew Cliff Kresge, who is -7 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he is tied for third place. He's 2 shots behind Tiger Woods, who's first right now. Cliff has finished 15 holes, Tiger 13. You can watch on NBC.
UPDATE: So Tiger wins — with a very impressive putt, and Cliff ends up in a 3-way tie for third.

Congrats!
Any chance of seeing Ann Althouse in the gallery at a future televised tournament?
The proud Auntie! Congratulations!

I follow the PGA Tour and your nephew is having a nice season.
He's already got two top 10s and is 2/3 of the way to his money total from last year through only 1/4 of this year's events.
The tournament finishing today had a lot of top players in it--who he beat.
I also notice he was born the day after me!
It was probably nice for you today because he was in contention and you could see him on TV (a little) whereas if he's not up the leaderboard you could only see him in person.
Ann, do you golf?
This is nice, but I still want to know if Ann is related to the dime store family.
Plus: Isn't it improbable that the S.H. Kress department store chain was separate and distinct from the S.S. Kresge department store chain?
And further into improbability, that Wal-Mart began as a Ben Franklin store (before Hillary Clinton started guiding and shaping its destiny)? In my mind, Ben Franklin stores were notable only for their wide assortment of surplus carpet squares, which I used as door mats for years.
Where's Maxine to weigh in on this?
FLS:
I think Ann said before her nephew is some very distant relation to the Kresge 5&10 chain.
Ann- Ted Williams and his swing was called the "Splendid Splinter" because he was very tall and very rangy.
Kresge is my sister's married name. I don't think here husband is any close relation to the store-owning Kresge (which is the K in KMart, of course).
Congratulations to the nephew on a good finish. tiger is not easy to beat.
Congratulations to Cliff on a terrific performance.
Congrats again, though I will be honest: I hate watching golf, so no, I didn't see it and no, I won't be watching for him.
