Ruth Anne Adams said... You missed simulblogging the State of the Union address for a TEXAS sign about MONKEYS? And you, a lawprof-politico-artsy-blogger!
Some people have a life, a real life, that excludes politics. Maybe we should all step back and forget the politcal nonsense once in a while and have a good time. It would probably eliminate some of the bitterness we all feel.
On the other hand, I would rather party in Texas than listen to any president prattle on about anything.
That first picture reminds me of the old Buy-'n'-Sell shop just east of the Capitol at the bottom of the Hill on east Wash. But it could be anywhere, even not Texas.
I think Bush, notably and in more ways than not, however one might analyze the effectiveness & etc. thereof, pointed back to his campaign of 2000. You know, "the before."
As my West Texas great-grandmother once said about her family background, "My Daddy, Joe Taylor, he weren't from Texas, he was from Liberty County in East Texas".
Well, Ann, South Congress Ave isn't in Texas, it's in Austin.
Make sure to stop by the offfices of the Texas Railroad Commission (1701 N. Congress Ave.) if you have time so you can find out what "us" oilfield trash are all about.

Isn't a Texas sign about monkeys and the State of the Union address about the same thing, ruth anne?
Hey, doc, y'all buy some Tony Lomas?
I'm glad you could visit. You are welcome in Texas anytime.
Not that you're a monkey, or anything like that.
Of course, if you were, you'd definitely be welcome. We have signs to prove that.
Monkeys always welcome.
If you say so.

Hey, this IS my State of the Union post.

Passive-aggressive.
Please don't take this as an insult, Ann, but the pic of you seems to evoke Texas because you sort of remind me of a famous Texan there. Janis Joplin.
Mark
this IS my State of the Union post.
They misspelled Taxes.
I think Bush, notably and in more ways than not, however one might analyze the effectiveness & etc. thereof, pointed back to his campaign of 2000. You know, "the before."
Hmmm.
As my West Texas great-grandmother once said about her family background, "My Daddy, Joe Taylor, he weren't from Texas, he was from Liberty County in East Texas".

Monkeys always welcome. Really. Sounds like code to me. The real question is are Canadians welcome, if you get my drift.
"Monkeys always welcome."
Yikes! Don't let Frank J hear about this.

They replayed the original Planet of the Apes on AMC last night.
It's still great.
"Get your hands off me you damned dirty ape."
Austin (a/k/a Sodom on the Colorado) is great.
But there's a lot more to Texas than Austin. I hope you'll see more of the state sometime.
