Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin.

I hope you've all made to your holiday destinations or, if not, that you'll be getting there soon. It's a little chilly here... and starting to snow. Fine with me. I love getting back home.

Lots of travel for Althouse lately. glad to hear there have been no problems.

The fact that you travelled home on the busiest travel day should hush Maxine up about not giving enough effort to Thanksgiving.

No Macy's parade, but a chance to meet Titus' parents at Delmonico's. We gather together and all that.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it's queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost
"Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening"

Reader_Iam reported that she's half-way to the heart of America and traffic is moving along at the leisurely rate of 4 mph (yes four mph). Apparently, there are cars everywhere and some of them are even ON the road, but most are in some sort of disarray or damage due to "weather." Who knew Des Moines could be so much fun? I can' wait to hear what KC is like.

Ruth Anne, Nothing but nothing will shut Maxine up, but addressing a comment to her as one of her "alter egos" has been known to keep her off thread for a while

Luther, that poem is on the solstice, not on Thanksgiving.
