... wrinkle assessment.

AND: Make sure to click through to the story about the "fresh-faced" men. The original photos might be funnier that the caricatures at the first link. Did you know Kirk Douglas looks "years younger" than his age? His age is 90.

It's a fact men keep their looks longer.

Nick, did you click through?

He must've meant this one: 60 year-old

Douglas doesn't look a day over 85.

These women are finding out that, over 40, a fashionably superthin body means the extremities, including the face, will shrivel. Holly Hunter looks hideous in her new show, but she has a waistline.

I'll be glad when the inflated upper lip goes out of style. My stepmother had so much done, her lips twitch every ten seconds (or that may be from the pills).

Then we have this: horror

Hell, I just turned 45. It's not the face that's going, it's the knees and back.

All those pickup basketball games on concrete will do it.

Speaking of veiny hands, did you check out Sarah Jessica Parker lately? Maybe it should be called Sex With A Witchy.

I hope that's a bad picture of Billy Crystal, but it may explain why he's no longer doing movies. Imagine that face blown up 10 feet tall. With men, it seems to be the neck that ages most noticeably.

Well, that and the hair, said the semi-bald man.

Until they invent an ear-ectomy or a lobe-otomy, those ears that never stop growing will be the dead giveaway. [I bet they have little tufts of scraggly hair on 'em, too.]

After clicking through, and looking at the pictures, it appears that cosmetic surgery is not a fountain of youth.

For myself - passed a certain age

"An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick"
...................................
"I grow old … I grow old …
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me."

For the woman who believes in younger and prettier

"WHEN you are old and gray and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars."

For those who haven't yet quit

"Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

I saw a trailer recently for the new movie The King of California and said to myself, I sez, "Geez, Kirk Douglas is looking GREAT!"

Heh. Sorry, Michael.

The problem with Melanie Griffith was that she was wearing shorts. It baffles me that the Professor didn't mention this.
