Sorry, I had to do that.
I'm not going to spend the whole day ax-grinding. Or should I? It could make an interesting theme day. Remember when people used to do Friday cat-blogging? (Or do some folks still do Friday cat-blogging) Maybe there should be Friday ax-grinding. Just collect up all the personal wrongs of the week... I do have quite a few this week. But somehow only Premiere's film critic Glenn Kenny pushed me over the edge.

It could be like Festivus, the "airing of greivances."
Oh please. You could fill your entire day, every day, airing your greivances against all of those you see as plodding to attack and ruin your "reputation."
Curious that those who have so much in this world can spend so much time complaining. You have tenure, you have a big house, a nice car, and apparently good health. Virtually every person I know who has far less than you do also spends far less time complaining about their life.
Poor, poor, pitiful A-House!!
I suggest a nice long walk along the Lake or through the neighborhood or up State Street. It's a beautiful day today.
I guess I missed the memo where tenured professors lost their ability to respond to attacks on them if they drove a nice car. There is a difference between complaining, as in mere whining, and ax-grinding, as in responding to someone else's mischaracterization of your opinions. If you have little tolerance for the latter, I suggest blogs may not be the appropriate pastime for you, AJD.

I think you missed his point. As the biggest complainer on this blog, AJD was being ironic by complaining about the host complaining.
Or maybe he's just clueless.
"[Kenny] wrote that yesterday afternoon, and I'm the only comment there, so maybe no one reads this guy, despite the fact that he's Premiere's film critic."
If we're going to use "comments" as a proxy measure for a blog's popularity, then you're not doing too hot yourself, Annie. See, you have about 10 morons who obsessively post on your blog. And let me tell you, based on their comments, they're nothing to be proud of.
The remainder of your readership pours in either when you say something idiotic or when Instapundit links to you, usually for saying something idiotic. And judging by the amount of shit you post any given week, I think you've figured this out.
VRSE-
Ann gets, on average, 10-12,000 readers a day. How many readers a day are you averaging lately?
AJD: "plodding to attack"
LOL. Great phrase. I guess I can zip away in my "nice car" and they'll never catch me.
Vrse: "See, you have about 10 morons who obsessively post on your blog"
As they say, it takes one to know one.
I think some people here are just jealous.

Technically, it's less than ten when you consider that AJD and Doyle are sock puppets for She Who Must Not Be Named, me and Fen are sock puppets for Karl Rove, and DaveTM is Ann's alter ego.
I once toyed with the idea of establishing Friday as Denouncement Day. Thin gruel, compared to these threads--but the comments were sort of fun.
Maybe I should declare another one, for those of us who are pikers at this.
I could do some Friday catblogging. :)
When I read what you wrote about the worst Glenn conflating "star" with "actor" in a quote I was suddenly transported to a small private pool party when a guest casually bragged he just recently had sex with a porn star. With no naturally occurring rejoinder I asked how many amateur films it takes to attain stardom. I'll never forget how crushed that guest was by my innocent simple question.
