Delighted naturally, but still insistent that you should revert to the old habit of approving each comment prior to posting, rather than the simple expedient of using word verification.
That - old - way at least one could sustain the illusion that one's interjections might stir a thought in the bosom of the dear Professor - "Hmmmm...seems a sweet, smart guy to me. Must have him over for dinner/supper/breakfast some day."
Peter: I think the majority opinion is that it's better without moderation so people can talk back and forth without waiting for me to stop by and moderate. The main downside is you have to type a verification word. There would be a lot of spam otherwise. Anyway, I do read the comments, whether I'm moderating or not. I find them easier to read when I'm not moderating, actually, because I prefer to click on the post and read the thread. And I do see the comments that are on old posts, because they are emailed to me too, and I notice which post they are for. I do all this in part because I'm interested and in part so I can delete abusive comments.

That's one of the things that's going to be neat about being able to subscribe to comments threads - that has the potential to really keep some older threads alive.
Simon: Yes, they've added some new things. I've been hard on them, but I want to give them credit for the good things. Subscribing to the feed on a comments thread is really nice. It will be interesting to see if conversations last longer this way. I hope so!

Congratulations on the speed of your feed.
Is that little kitten’s name Seymour?
P.S. We all know about this, right?
That photo is somehow both adorable and hysterical. Congrats on the return of the feed!
Blogger love restored.
Whore.
Cheers,
Victoria

Seems the plant was named "Audrey Jr."
Duh.
Peter:...
...a personal note from the Prof!
Be stilled my beating heart. She even knows my name.
I'll not be sleeping tonight! ;)
I'm wondering if the new blogger will reduce the number of spam sites on Blogger. Not holding my breath.
