"You don't look different,
but you have changed.
I'm looking through you,
you're not the same!"

Jason म्हणाले...

Continuing meade's Rubber Soul theme, I nominate "You Won't See Me."

What about "Invisible Touch" by Genesis?

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

"Cold as Ice." "Ice, Ice, Baby."

We need some classical selections too!

Gray म्हणाले...

"Suggestions for what to play here?"

Now, come on, Althouse! The choice is obvious.

The song that's most applicable is clearly 'You're so vain'!

Hey, Carly Simon never really said it's about a guy! And I bet you have an apricot-colored scarf somewhere...
:P

Richard Dolan म्हणाले...

"Cold as Ice." Ann poses a riddle: Can an instrument that looks as cold as ice still burn with musical passion? (Calaf suggests an answer about a different sort of instrument.)

It's inconceivable that an instrument like that one could have much of a singing tone. Opera, the Beatles, or anything that contemplates piano music accompanying the voice, would seem to be a poor fit for an instrument like that. Perhaps in might sound good in some of the really bang-y passages in a concerto by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, or that sort of thing.

Schoenberg's "Kristallnacht Fugue"?

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Caffeine: It's not mirrored. It's transparent.

Gray म्हणाले...

"We need some classical selections too!"

Sure. Like the 'Prelude to the Suite in D-Minor', famous from the soundtrack of 'Diva'
:)

Alanis Morrisette
"I see right through you
I know right through you
I feel right through you
I walk right through you"

But Paul wins. Hands down.

Tower of Power: Below Us, All the City Lights.

stealthlawprof म्हणाले...

Given the time when the picture was taken (and one's ability to see outside through the piano), I would suggest Moonlight Sonata.

अनामित म्हणाले...

stealthlawprof: Excellent! As a certified Luciaphile, I should have thought of that immediately. Wish I did.

Ruth Anne Adams म्हणाले...

Now that stealthlawprof brought in moonlight references, how about Clair de Lune by Debussy? [sound at link]

Oscar Madison म्हणाले...

Does it go without saying that it's a really cool photo?

Bob म्हणाले...

How about On A Clear Day?

Sigivald म्हणाले...

They should play a song I'm about to compose, called "This Piano Is Not Transparent".

Hazy Dave म्हणाले...

"Plastic People" - The Mothers Of Invention, 1967.

What to play here?

First recruit Burt Bacharach to tickle the keys. Song number one would be "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" vocals by Dean Martin. Frank and Sammy would come out later to join in on a medley of Burt's songs. Of course they would all be wearing tuxcedos.

Sanjay म्हणाले...

"Crystal Silence" from Burton?

अनामित म्हणाले...

-Your inside is out and your outside is in
-Your outside is in and your inside is out
-So come on come on
-Whippens are such a joy
-Hammers are such a joy
-Look at my sostenudo flange
-Look at my damper bars
-Make it major make it minor
-Everybody's got something to hide except for me and
My Kawai.

Thank you, and I hope we passed the audition

Bleepless म्हणाले...

I can see for miles and miles,
I can see for miles and miles,
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles. [Insert applause here]

अनामित म्हणाले...

What a waste of perfectly good plastic.

You could wrap a lot of sandwiches with that.

अनामित म्हणाले...

it's sooooo obvious!!
