Can you find your humble blogger -- Waldo-like -- in the reflections?

ADDED: That color, on the window frames? I don't want anyone to ever paint anything that color ever again.

She's just revealed her secret identity, besides being a law prof, and a blogger, she's also King Buzzo of The Melvins.

Either that or she's talking about a reflection visible in the top picture.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

Yeah, it's the top picture. But let me say that I have -- despite my advanced age -- seen The Melvins in concert. About a decade ago, in the Stock Pavilion, with L7.

XWL म्हणाले...

They've been around a long time themselves, they formed in 1985.

And that answer was evasive, not an actual denial.

(you could claim you are 'seeing' a band even as you 'perform' with them)

(and I'm being 'silly')

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

I do have big hair.

I saw the Melvins too. They have Stan Lee, right? I think the last time I saw them was my second year in college (1988-1989) in Oakland at a place called the Omni, where a year before I saw Motorhead.

No, it's the Dickies who have Stan Lee, not the Melvins. I don't think I've ever seen the Melvins. Nevermind.

Dan म्हणाले...

While I can't find you in the reflections, I can actually see myself ... oops ... too close to the monitor.

Kev म्हणाले...

I saw the Melvins as an opening act for Nine Inch Nails around '94 or so (yes, the jazz guy had a metalhead phase too). I didn't care for them myself, and neither did most of the audience--they practically got booed off the stage.

Yes! Yes! Yes! That color has fallen into the same category as that gosh-awful "baby-sh**" gold and harvest green that were so popular there back in the '70s. Meaning, if perchance I should live a second lifetime, I still won't be ready to see those paint colors again.

There oughta be a law, damn it!

And while we're at it, no more mauve (s-o-o-o '80s).

Except maybe on lips.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

That color came from the 80s. Everyone discovered it as if it was amazing that it had lain fallow so long. It was exciting for about a year, and then it was painful.

And I'm begging you not to get a car in that color.

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

And I mean teal, not mauve. Mauve is a respectable color, used in the right place. And it's not just for genitalia anymore.

reader_iam म्हणाले...

used in the right place.

That would be the problem.

And ... LOL.

reader_iam म्हणाले...

I think I spent too much time in mauve-and-teal offices in the '80s and early '90s. I tend to lump 'em together.

reader_iam म्हणाले...

I'll bet Bartow and Belle Lettre don't go around linking the color mauve and genitalia on their blogs, Ann ... .

I'm suprised at you--a law professor, and feminist!

; )

reader_iam म्हणाले...

SuRprised, too.

lots of cool typography in Madison

XWL म्हणाले...

Prof. Althouse, did you post those photos knowing that the subsequent discussion would focus on The Melvins and the colors mauve and teal?

(sounds like an especially strange episode of Sesame Street, . . . today's episode was brought to you by . . .)

(which leads, somehow, to this photo)

Ann Althouse म्हणाले...

XWL: No, I thought the interesting question was what is the "Weary Traveler Freehouse."
