I don't know what it says about me that I like the "not challenging" type a lot? Anyway, thanks for this link. My mother has 8 horses (& she is 73, ashamed to admit that in her great shape...I am not), is a one person animal rescue and will love this story. Gina
I too would like to see a picture of the little pony. I once knew a Shetland who would only hang around cattle and not the other horses. Possibly he was picked on by the other horses, we never knew. I know that the horses sometimes harassed the cattle, so it is possible they bullied him too.The cattle seemed to mostly ignore him but he was always close to them. He was a smart pony, gentle but clever. He would let children get on his back but he wouldn't move once they were on. Most horses will at least walk when prodded, but not this Shetland. He would just stand there and eventually the kids would get bored, climb off and leave him to his grazing with the cattle. Kids could lead him around but he refused to carry any kid. Adults were of course too large to ride him and I suspect he knew that as well, just as he knew no kid could force him into being easy transportation. He didn't have a set name. Some of the kids figured if his correct name was called, he would go, so he was called by a variety of names. Girls would call him girl names in an attempt to coax him into a little ride, but that never worked either.
This makes me so very proud! My Great Grandfather immigrated from County Antrim, his brother stayed and became the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland. I love a good pony story with family connections.

I wanted a picture too, but I'm guessing it looks like every other pony.
Yeah, I was just going to complain about the fact that they gave us NO PHOTO of Jessie. But I see Jim beat me to it.
Anyhoo, hats off to Jessie.
I betcha Jessie is wondering where the American Idol post is.
I've gotten used to watching the show then coming here for the review.
