Four posters:
1. Image: a painting of the face of a Nazi, wearing a monocle, in which is reflected the silhouette of a hanged man. Text: "This Is The Enemy."
2. Image: a painting of Hitler, cowering, under a sky full of Allied planes. Text: "When? It's Up to You."
3. Image: a photograph of what looks like a live chicken, fully plucked. Text: "I am."
4. Image: a short, very dirty hippy, wearing a soldier's helmet, on which is scrawled "Stop the War." Text: "Because I scare very easily."
What's up?
ADDED: It might be helpful to know that it's the same store I described here.

The squirrelly rat-nests' logic of the Anti-War movement?
Cheers,
Victoria
If we are now seeing clever, po-mo artsy anti-anti-war posters, the tide is clearly turning.
Hurray for that.
And: I received a Forward today from a lefty friend of Michael Moore's latest attack screed. Pretty weak. Has the anti-war movement jumped the shark, or has the White House push back slapped it down?
Okay, after reading the addendum, I clicked on the Instapundit link, then clicked on your Photo Essay, and was floored.
Not only did that store have a poster/book thingie which made Dubya look like Don Adams (and that black cat didn't go unperceived)...
...but you liked Vaughn Meader's The First Family LP!!
Dude, I love that LP. I bought it when I was a kid, at a Salvation Army store for 5 cents.
Alas, I can't play it today, because I don't have a "victrola", but just knowing you listened to it, makes me go all warm and fuzzy.
"Everett, You drive a haaaaaaaahd bargain"
"Hold the Mayo" (to Mao Tse-Tung)
"Today is election day...vote for the Kennedy of your choice but VOTE!"
Although JFK himself said Vaughn sounded more like Ted, than he. Ah well.
I still have a big grin on my face when I remember.
P.S.: Oh, the posters, store, State Street, right right. Hmm.
Nope can't think of the reason why they would do this, except that they are blithering idiots gnawing the same old tired bone.
Cheers,
Victoria

I'm thinking it's po-mo-ier than that. That it's actually anti-war somehow. I think vintage hawk posters are being displayed ironically.
"If it's supposed to be ironic, but then I buy it because I'm being ironic about their irony, does that mean the universe collapses into an infinite singularity?"
Yes.
Seriously, we need answers! I'd love to hear the store staff comments on it all.
PatCA: In the post linked in the update, I go in the store and interview the cashier. I should have thought of doing that again.
