Audible Althouse, #10.
We're up to the double digits in podcasts, with episode #10. I forgot to reset the tempo, so I had to fit it into 30 minutes or so. Here it is.

And you make it fun to read and leave comments on your blog, Ann. Very sweet.
What's with these third person references to yourself at the beginning of the podcast? It's funny. It sounds like the famous Jimmy episode of the 'Seinfeld' show, about which I've heard but never actually seen. The difference is that you use your last name.
Douglas MacArthur also referred to himself in the third person inveterately. Eisenhower writes about this hilariously in his book, 'At Ease.'
Daniels is going to close this comment now. Daniels needs to get ready for bed. Daniels is tired and must not be deterred from getting a good night's sleep.
Fun 'cast, by the way.
That was, by far, your most dramatic ending! Maybe some technological contraint is needed to avoid Facultyesque Rambling!
Your 'Harriet Meirs fakey blog voice' would be a good startup sound!
You sound like a cook. I keep thinking of recipes as you speak.
Mark: The third person references are the voice of my imaginary critic.
Goesh: What?
I should have elaborated - sorry - your voice reminded me of a cook show hostess I heard some time back. It made me think of black beans, cabbage, rice when brought to boil, lots of curry is thrown in and a strong dash of hot sauce.
I listened to your podcast for the first time and think I prefer the Ann Althouse voice that I "hear" when I read your writings. It's not BAD like, say, listening to Burt Bacharach sing his own songs, but I for one will be sticking to the written voice I've come to enjoy every day.
Thanks, Cyber Bob. That was funny. I didn't know where you were going with that, but I read it to the end, which is worth at least a C in my book. "She sounds like she been through some very hard times, and this hidden emotion in her voice keeps me listening." Hmmm.... Will Althouse ever tell us about the hard times? Anyway, that was a dog, not a duck, in the street.
I much prefer the 30 minute podcast formats. I can multi-task 30 minutes so much better than an hour. Using a 30 minute chunk, even if it meant [dare I say it?] a *third* podcast for the week would actually increase the podcast time to 1.5 hours/week. Given your high volume blogging, I almost think it merits high volume podcasting.
