A woman has a second set of quadruplets... and wants a third set?
Why stop at three, when you're so in love with quadrupling? Go ahead, have four sets. If you're going to have twelve children, you might as well have sixteen.

I can't bear to look. Please tell me it has nothing to do with her ability to achieve multiple sexual ecstasy.
Who can afford to have that many children? Who has time to adequately parent that many children? (I'm struggling with just three, and my kids are not over-scheduled.) Wouldn't the last set of quads feel like they were produced as a stunt?
Yikes.
The Mother's Almanac said (not quoting exactly, but pretty close), "Have as many children as you want, so long as each parent can still give each child 20 undivided minutes of attention each day." I never could improve on that. At the risk of going into righteous-old-toot mode, I'd say this sentiment and this dharma appear to be part of The Way of the Dodo now.
"The Mother's Almanac said..."
that confirms it for me: simon kenton truly is the renaissance man of the twenty-first century.
And that is the rub - spending enough quality time with each kid.
What is interesting to me is that there are a number of people of wealth (similar to people of color or of pallor) who utilize their wealth to have a lot of kids. Indeed, in a society where two kids is sometimes seen as indulgent, in my daughter's private school, she is one of the only only kids there. Indeed, family size seems to average three or four there.
But the thing that money does not protect them from is the effect that not giving enough quality time to each kid results in. It seems that the bigger the family, the greater the problems with the kids.
My husband is the youngest of 12 kids and loved being part of a big family.
One thing that sort of balances it out a bit is that although the parents' attention is spread a little thinner, there's more interaction and companionship from siblings. Of course, by the time DH was born his oldest siblings already had kids older than he, so some of them were like second parents to him.
I can't imagine having 7 kids all under the age of three. But I guess if you want a large family and can't get pregnant the normal way it might sort of make sense to have them several at a time. I'm just glad it's not me . . . I prefer one or two babies at a time. :)
It seems to me that back before birth control, families were larger, and they had fewer problems than we do now.
If the parents spend time with their kids, show them they care about them, etc, no matter how many (or few) they are, then things will be fine.
I know several families (who aren't rich) with 6-8 children and the children don't seem to be lacking for "parent time" even if it isn't "20 minutes with Bob. Then 20 minutes for Darlene and then 20 minutes for Alice and Daryl" Or whatever.
They do stuff as a family.
It works. Much better than some of these families with only 1 kid, even.
I THINK IT IS AWESOME THAT THEY WANT THAT MANY CHILDREN!!! I THINK MORE WOMEN SHOULD STOP BEING SO FOCUSED ON THEIR CAREERS AND MORE FOCUSED ON THEIR FAMILIES! FAMILIES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE AND SOCIETY IS TOO SELFISH NOWADAYS! ALL THE LARGE FAMILIES I KNOW, AND I KNOW QUITE A FEW, HAVE CHILDREN THAT GROW UP SO LOVED, SUCESSFUL, AND SECURE! ASK ANY ONLY CHILD, AND MOST LIKELY THEY WOULD RATHER HAVE BROTHERS/SISTERS THAN BE ALONE! I LOVE BIG FAMILIES, AND NOBODY SHOULD KNOCK ANYONE WHO CHOOSES TO HAVE THEM!!! MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU!
MOTHER OF 6, SOON TO BE FAMILY OF 10.
