It's interesting how France and Germany on the eve of World War II were led by two of the most courageous combat soldiers each country could produce in World War I. Even more interesting was how completely opposite those two leaders were. Hmm... it seems combat experience predicts nothing for how a future leader will behave.
A big fat amen to that, Sloanasaurus! Kerry was almost wounded in Viet Nam and almost became President, but like Vets often say, close only counts in the game of horseshoes and when mortars land.
