Yes, winter is coming. Annoyingly, my local drugstore was playing Christmas music yesterday. Christmas on November 6th. Of course, they called it "Holiday music". Our next holiday hit...
BTW, Chris Christie is thinking about running in 2028. Why this is national news, I'm not sure. Maybe it got misplaced and was supposed to be in the Yahoo's comedy section.
Yes, winter is coming. And I see the orks are already assembling. I see that among other things, they're threatening Musk, the most beneficial human being on Earth.
My suggestion for Musk is to program all his Optimus robots, Teslas, and rockets so their ultimate AI command is to protect him and to wage war against any persons, "parties", or states that threaten to harm him. The very first demo should be very persuasive. Even more than the Roadster one.
Is it possible? Has he done that already? Well, do ya feel lucky, punk? Do ya?
BTW, Chris Christie is thinking about running in 2028. Why this is national news, I'm not sure. Maybe it got misplaced and was supposed to be in the Yahoo's comedy section.
They are trying to pretend Trump lost and voters want the old Republican party back.
They are trying very hard.
But Trump knows what the voters in the country want. That is why Miller is CoS.
It was the old Neocon GoPe that really got wiped out.
Trump assembled a coalition that could have dominated politics for decades, then flushed it down the toilet. Democrats will no doubt overreach because they think that people voted for them, which is simply not true. And nobody who participated in this electoral insurrection, if you want to call it that, wants the old Republican Party back. Democrats and old-line Republicans are what got them Trump.
imTay: "Trump assembled a coalition that could have dominated politics for decades, then flushed it down the toilet. Democrats will no doubt overreach because they think that people voted for them, which is simply not true."
Gotta give you credit for wisdom. Morning Schmoe also likes to recite his litany of how many Admins and parties thought they had it locked in for good, only to overreach and lose it all in 2 or 4 years: 1976, 1988, 1992, 1994, 2000, etc, etc. Interestingly, I did not hear Schmoe say this on Wednesday morning's show. But give him a few months and the chance to go off (or on) his meds again. CC, JSM
Trump had a golden opportunity to be the coalition-builder of the century: protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid while cementing a working-class coalition. Instead, he chose self-enrichment.
Republicans are finally finding their spine. I expect more courage from GOP presidential hopefuls than from Republicans currently serving in Congress, but Trump’s spell has been broken.
The more interesting question is what Marco Rubio does next. Unlike Vance, he has a path to leave the administration and distance himself from Trump. The sooner he takes it, the better positioned he’ll be.
The Republican infighting—and Trump’s reaction to it—should be something to behold. Order plenty of popcorn.
Of course what I fully expect to happen is that Democrats will use their almost unbridled power to change the voting rules so that they can't lose their place at the trough again, and continue to screw the same voters Trump once spoke for.
“Democrats will no doubt overreach because they think that people voted for them, which is simply not true.”
Democrats may overreach because we are human, but most Democrats fully realize this midterm was far less about the Dem Party than it was a repudiation of Trump and Trumpism. Dems want to keep the millions of voters we gained and with that Dems should/will proceed with caution.
btw - The Jews in the US are mostly secular democrats. Very few actual Jewish people vote for Republicans. Nothing new. But hey - we gotta blame do jooos.
Do you remember how MAGA "tim in vermont" was? It's funny that you keep dragging back that name, are you just trying to rub it in my face how much I once supported Trump?
And I voted for the Democrats this cycle full well knowing that that is what they plan, but as far as Trump's second term goes, I said to myself "if this is 'winning,' I am tired of it." Republicans can't be trusted with power.
One of the little side benefits of primary coverage is that one ends up hearing about places all over the country, including how they pronounce place names with the same spelling but different pronunciations. I'm a bit of a nerd regarding my interest in such things.
This morning, I've looking up different pronunciation of "Lafayette." Fascinating, to me. My own bias is the way in which "Lafayette" is pronounced in Indiana, my birth native state. (My mom's hometown was not far away, and over the generations there certainly have been plenty of relatives living in Lafayette and West Lafayette.) But it's not the same everywhere.
Anyone else have odd little things, unrelated to politics, that they notice when national elections (midterm and presidential) come around?
“Democrats will no doubt overreach because they think that people voted for them, which is simply not true.”

LOL! Democrat voters laugh and cackle at the thought of digging up Charlie Kirk and shooting him again.
You are murderous vile pieces of shit. It is fun to watch you pretend to be a decent person in a place like this when we all know that with other democrats you are talking about killing us and throwing us in jail.
No - I'm not rubbing that in your face. Tim In Vermont. I'm probably less MAGA than you. I voted for Trump, but I too have my issues with the guy. You are allowed to be disgruntled. But you are a one issue guy. Israel. We heard you the first time. & you will more than likely watch our nation decline into Blue State Hell, along with the rest of us, - while you remain a single issue guy. Israel.
Like Achilles said, I don't blame Israel for doing what they are doing in their own country, it's just not our obligation to support it or to fight their wars.
We have spent $8 trillion in the "War on terror" since 2001, when we had bin Laden at Tora Bora, and a pause was ordered in the bombing, long enough for him to escape to the Khyber Pass. We probably did this because if we had killed him, the reasons for all of the wars that followed would have evaporated.
Yeah, a foreign government that spends billions on our elections and seems to control both parties. Name a more important issue. Like I just said, we have spent 8 trillion dollars in wars on their behalf in the last 25 years.

"Now it is time for Republican boomers to do the same. Republican boomers have a vision of how the world should be and that means young people get fucked."
Trump did that, that is why I overlooked his flaws and supported him fully. He sold them out. They don't want these wars. A lot of what turned young people against him was effective propaganda about ICE, but young people don't want to fight wars that have nothing to do with defending America.
They agree with George Washington's Farewell Address, which, unfortunately, due to the more sophisticated language of the time, does not offer a single quote, but you should read the whole thing.

"Watching supposed America First conservatives lose their goddamn minds over an election while conveniently forgetting nearly half a century of Iranian terrorism is infuriating.
"For decades, this murderous theocracy has taken Americans hostage, slaughtered American servicemen, armed terrorists who killed our troops, funded Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis, plotted assassinations on American soil, and pursued nuclear ambitions while threatening the destruction of America and Israel. "If he chose to protect future generations of Americans at the expense of his own political fortunes, that's leadership worth defending.
"I'd rather lose Congress than gamble America's future on the goodwill of the fucking ayatollahs."
The Cynical Publius tweet he's replying to is also well worth reading - and pondering.
Of course, even when he was calling himself 'Tim in Vermont', imTay/Jaq was guzzling Russian and Chinese and Qatari and Iranian propaganda, assuring us that Russia had a perfect right to invade Ukraine and commit every war crime listed in the Geneva Conventions there, that China has a right to do the same to Taiwan whenever they want, and other totally unAmerican ideas that made it impossible to tell whether he was actually 'Timofei in Voronezh'.
Was there convincing evidence Iran had an active nuclear weapons program before the war? The U.S. intelligence community assessed in 2025 that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon, and the IAEA said in March 2026 that it saw no structured program to manufacture one. Iran's uranium enrichment activities were certainly concerning, but what evidence made war necessary in February?
"The U.S. intelligence community" is honeycombed with people (I use the term loosely) who are devoted to destroying the Trump administration. Anything they say needs to be taken with a whole spoonful of salt. The IAEA, like every international organization, even more so.
