"[M]y speech was not a critique of Arabs or Islam, but of Islamism... a toxic ideology conceived and promoted by the terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood.”

"Let’s see which reporters take the time to read this post and then correct their stories."

Writes RFK Jr., at great length, at X.

He links to various reporters, and I don't think any of them have responded.

The Daily Wire and The Washington Examiner have, however, noted his post: here and here.

A lot of moderate Arabs and Persians have looked to Islamism as the best strategy to fight against their occupiers, since nothing else seemed to work. But I guess that leveling apartment blocks in order to assassinate a single resistance fighter is not toxic if you can afford fighter jets.

Jaq ayon kay ...

Or, like just happened in the West Bank, leveling the neighborhood where a resistance fighter lived, which used to be a war crime, collective punishment, is in no conceivable way “toxic.”

Jaq ayon kay ...

“ Islamism is intensely anti-American, anti-Western, and hostile to modernity.” —RFK Jr

In other words it’s a resistance movement to protect their culture, their land, and their natural resources from Western exploitation and oppression through domination.

Temujin ayon kay ...

To help the stultified among us.

Here is what RFK Jr. was alluding to:

Jews make up 0.2% of the global population. Since 1901 they've accounted for 22% of the Nobel Prizes- in all fields.

Muslims make up 24% of the global population. Since 1901 they've accounted for less than 1% of Nobel Prizes- in all fields.

The point isn't that Muslims cannot do it. The point is that they are too busy beheading and trying to conquer or kill people. They have no time to invent new physics, no time to assimilate into productive societies, because their own societies are...well...I'll be kind and simply say they are not doing it.

I read an interesting Substack about the history of the Muslim Brotherhood some months ago - darned if I can remember whose! The upshot was that it started as a extreme-purist, minority movement within Islam but its growth has wildly outstripped that of its philosophical competitors in that religion. And yes, that it's the root of all evil, so to speak, within Islam and also the major source of trouble in the world today.

I myself would argue that if an extreme-purist (not just extremist) interpretation of a religion leads its adherents to believe that the path to greatest virtue is to convert by violence or to kill everybody who isn't an adherent, the religion itself is the problem, or at least a big part of it. But I can envision an Islam that rejects its Puritans.

Good lord. I got through it, but his staff should keep RFK away from a keyboard in the future. I don't know what's more absurd the book-licking of Jews, or the trashing of something called Islamism.

Unlike RFK, I don't care about "Islamism". What the arabs want to do in their countries is their business. He completely ignores that its the liberal/left philosphy of "immigration good" that caused these people to come to Europe and the USA, and cause problems. Or that its our "Globalism" thats caused us to stick our nose into their affairs and cause problems.

Get rid of "Invade the world and invite the world" and all the conflict with Islamism goes away.

And then we get this insane sentence: The major figures of twentieth-century Western thought—Jesus Christ, Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, and Karl Marx—were all Jewish.

Freud was a fraud. Marx created communism that killed about 50 mllion people. And Einstein had no real affect on "Western thought".

And Jesus Christ wasnt a Jew. He was the son of God. And its strange that if he was JUST a Jew, that the Jews in 2026 dont follow him. Instead some of them get offended if you say "Merry Christmas" to them. And the crazy Orthodox in Israel are spitting on Christians. An odd attitude toward those who worship a "fellow Jew".

Of the real idiocy of RFK's post is comparing scientific achievement and money-making ability of a small number of people from various groups. Yes, the top 1000 Jewish scientists and businessmen have accomplished more then the top 1000 Muslims. But so what?

That doesn't mean Judaism is better than Islam for the average person. Or that its a better way of life.

A couple of historical distinctions seem to be getting lost here. The 1979 hostage crisis was an international diplomatic crisis, not a war between the U.S. and Iran. And the Iran-Iraq War, which began in 1980, was started by Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Iran -- not by the U.S.

The fact that the two countries have had hostile relations for decades doesn’t mean they’ve been continuously at war. Diplomatic hostility and an actual military conflict are two different things.

The current war began with U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran in February 2026. So, yes, it’s entirely reasonable to discuss the policies and decisions that brought us to this particular conflict without pretending that the history of U.S.-Iranian hostility began yesterday—or that it makes today’s decisions irrelevant.

History is context, not a get-out-of-accountability-free card

Jaq in his comments at the top writes that the Palestinians turned to Islamism because nothing else seemed to work. WTF. I can't recall any time when the Palestinians used Gandhian tactics to undermine Israeli authority. I think such tactics would have been far more useful than mass rape, murder, and abductions. What were they thinking? How could such a tactic inspire anything but a disproportionate response?........I note in passing that Assad and Saddam also had populations that objected to their authority. Assad and Saddam's response to protests to their authority was also disproportionate, but their brutality was never characterized as genocide.

RCoceanII...what's it like living in there?

You stated "And Jesus Christ wasn't a Jew. He was the son of God. And its strange that if he was JUST a Jew, that the Jews in 2026 dont follow him. Instead some of them get offended if you say "Merry Christmas" to them. And the crazy Orthodox in Israel are spitting on Christians. An odd attitude toward those who worship a "fellow Jew"."

Well yes. So much there. There's a whole history of Christians not acting very Christian as well, yes? Jesus, as human, was a Jew. You may not like it, or might have a hard time swallowing it, but don't fret. It doesn't mean he cannot have been the Son of God. I respect and love my Christian friends and do not deny them their belief. We'll all find out soon enough, right?

Quick story- as a kid I got a part time weekend job as a janitor in an Orthodox Jewish school. I was raised a Reform Jew. They knew that. And yes, one day one of them spit on me. Around that same age I used to have a couple of Christian kids (seriously Nazis) who used to pick fights with me because my family was the first Jewish family in that neighborhood. So, as you can see- there are assholes that come in all colors, shapes, and clothing. And some don't care what you are. All they know is you're not them.

And I, personally LOVE Christmas and the entire season. As do my entire family, all my relatives. It's what we grew up with. Jews in America have always been a small minority. All of us grew up in Christian neighborhoods. In my case, it was wonderful. I've loved Christmas and the entire season ever since, no matter where I've lived.

Also- you state that "What the arabs want to do in their countries is their business." True enough. Note that not all Arabs are Muslim. And not all Muslims are Arabs. And all nations can do what they want, until they prevent you in your country from living for your own sake- as the Arab nations have been trying for decades to do with Israel. Even as Israel has Arab citizens.

And lastly, if Freud, Marx, and Einstein were not impactful enough Jews for you- that's fine. I get it. How about Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, and Ayn Rand for those who prefer individual rights over the collective?

RCOCEAN II ayon kay ...

The "Jews" were kicked out of palestine 2000 years ago. When the zionists established their Israeli state, the Palestinians both Muslim and Christian had been there for 2000 years. Netenyahu's family comes from Poland. Many other Israelis can trace their families to Ukraine, Russia, and Eastern Europe and no further.

Some Israelis have blond hair and blue eyes (cf: Kirk Douglas). Do you think they are genetic descendents of the Ancient Hebrews? LOL.

Historical note: John Knox, the founding father of Scottish Presbyterianism had the great bad luck to be captured by a French raiding party. He was made a galley slave. Galley slaves had a life expectancy of 24 months. He was ransomed after 19 months but suffered from ill health for the rest of his life. In the writings of John Knox, there are no preaching against the institution of slavery. You would think that being a galley slave would give someone insight into the evils of slavery, but that;s not the way it worked with John Knox. There were quite a lot of fulminations against Marian worship and the Pope but not one word against slavery........The religion he founded went on to produces such significant scientists and thinkers as Maxwell, Watt, Adam Smith. These thinkers, so far as I know, didn't spend a lot of time vexing about Marian worship or getting back to the basics of their religion. To some extent, their lives and success were shaped by the discipline of their religious upbringing, but they were shaped and not deformed by such upbringings........I'm sure that there are part of Islam that are worth preserving but there's also a great deal that is best ignored and tactfully passed over.

Create strife wherever you go. China has a civil war going on and they have an island we could use? Send our warships down the Taiwan Straits and bomb the positions of the Mainland Chinese. Russia and Japan agree to settle their dispute over some remote islands post WWII, tell the Japanese that if they settle that dispute, we will keep Okinawa. We create civil wars everywhere, divide and conquer, and the same people who use divide and conquer to "spread modernity" while taking the "backwards people's" oil are dividing us against each other, making ordinary people worldwide hate each other.

And attributing the decline of Islamic scientific achievement to a movement founded in 1928 seems like a bit of a leap, considering that much of the decline occurred centuries earlier. Laughable. Around 50% of Israelis trace their families to the Middle East,
Persia, and North Africa, pushed out by the Romans and other despots over the centuries. And Jews have been in “Palestine” since biblical times. In small numbers but always there. At the same time, large numbers of “Palestinians” migrated there after Jews began draining the swamps and cultivating the land. Yassir Arafat was born in Egypt. Meanwhile all those Middle Eastern countries have virtually no Jews, while Israel is 20% Arab. All the Arabs who stayed after 1948 became citizens, while Jews had to flee for their lives from the Muslim world.

Why don’t Muslims receive Nobel Prizes, and Jews receive so many?

First, there is the issue of interbreeding. Cousin marriage is common in many Muslim communities. Close consanguinity tends towards genetic abnormalities as chromosomes double up. The Muslim Prophet practiced cousin marriage, so everyone else should and do it too. Plus many lived in small communities, where non-cousin marriages were almost necessary.

What about the Jews? Did they have similar problems? Turns out some of them too had inbreeding issues. I am talking about Ashkenazi Jews - essentially European Jews. They were under selective breeding pressures for intelligence, and a certain type of numerical intelligence, through the way that the European Christian populations they lived within allowed them to live. In the Bell Curve, it was noted that their mean IQ was roughly one standard deviation above the mean, and that means that there are more Ashkenazi Jews, per capita, on the tails of the distribution. And the upper tail is where Nobel prizes come from. The smartest of the smart. But before you conclude that it was an unalloyed benefit, it came with a litany of debilitating conditions, unique to them.

Not an exact answer, but the pope (I'd have to look up the precise one) announced that the Jews were no longer the Chosen People but had been replaced in God's favor by the Franks in Charlemagne's day.

But there is another aspect to this - predestination. When my youngest brother tragically died at 21, in a stupid climbing accident, in his last year at Dartmouth, having just returned from a recruiting to Stanford and Berkeley, for a PhD in EE (he had already been to MIT), we were referred to a book “Why Bad Things Happen to Good People”, by a Jewish Rabbi. If God is omniscient and omnipotent, why does this happen?

To simplify, the answer to this is that we were given Free Will, because if we weren’t, then there would be no testing of us. From a Calvinist Christian point of view, absent Free Will, there would be no reason to work for Salvation. It is what we do with our Free Will that earns our salvation.

The problem (in my view) with (esp Sunni) Islam is their belief in Predestination.

“Inshallah,[a][b] usually called the istiṯnāʾ,[c][1] is an Arabic-language expression meaning 'if God wills' or 'God willing'.[2][3] It is mentioned in the Quran,[4] surah Al-Kahf (23-24), which requires its use when mentioning intended actions.[5][6] It signifies that nothing, neither action nor thought, happens without God's permission.[1]” (Wikipedia)

That attitude/belief in predestination leads to almost unquestioning acquiescence to authority. The funny thing there is that in my mind, very often those authorities are exerting Free Will to determine where to lead their followers. In any case, this belief in Predestination appears to greatly impact the ability of many Muslims to innovate and change the world.

“It is rich that RFK is criticizing anyone for "the embrace of pseudoscience" when he has based his entire career on it.”

And yet, RFK is where he is, because he was at the forefront of the fight against the pseudoscience of the COVID-19 responses by our government, and governments around the world.

Worst, of course, were the ModRNA “vaccines”. The government even approved jabbing babies. It was good for one thing - protecting the elderly and vulnerable. Instead, it was administered, with little testing, to essentially everyone, causing the virus to almost immediately mutate around the vaccines. In less than a year, efficacy had dropped below 10%.

Time after time, in one area and another, our regulators approved, then often pushed, medicines that had been inadequately tested, to the benefit of the huge pharmaceutical companies pushing them. Many $billions$ in profits let them capture the regulatory agencies that are supposedly overseeing them, earning those companies $billions$ more.

Maybe the most idiotic, pseudosciency, even nonsciency, thing that our government could have done was to approve and endorse jabbing infants with the novel ModRNA COVID-19 “vaccines”. But they did it, and two pharmaceutical companies made $billions$. (I am hot here, because my daughter had my then 6 mo old granddaughter jabbed, based on government propaganda).

So, the question arises, what other childhood vaccines really benefit infants and young children, over their risk. Which ones are worth it? And which ones just profit the pharmaceutical corporations selling them? When I was young, I had just one vaccine - polio. It worked. And the polio epidemic that we saw around us ended. My granddaughter (and soon to be grandson) face dozens. Is that really good?

Scientific “experts” have really taken a hit this decade. For good reason. Why 6’ distancing? Fauci almost literally pulled it out of his nether region. Masking? Idiotic. Most of the studies before then made that clear. Arresting surfers out in the ocean? Or plowing in the turnouts on Loveland Pass to keep skiers out of the backcountry, were equally idiotic.

Here is what AI has to say:

Saudi Arabia has not de-Islamized, as Islam remains the state religion, Sharia forms the basis of the legal system, and the Quran and Sunnah serve as the country's constitution.

However, under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Saudi Vision 2030 reforms (launched around 2016–2017), the Kingdom has undergone a major social, cultural, and educational liberalization—shifting away from strict, ultra-conservative Wahhabism toward a more nationalist and modernized identity.

Key Areas of Change

• Reduction of Religious Police: The powers of the mutaween (Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice) have been sharply curtailed, removing them from street-level policing of daily behavior.

• Social and Cultural Openness: Longstanding bans have been lifted on women driving, public cinemas, music concerts, and mixed-gender entertainment events.

• Educational Reforms: School textbooks have been revised to remove or tone down teachings linked to rigid Wahhabism (such as specific writings of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab), replacing them with an emphasis on "Saudi first" patriotism.

• Foreign Religious Funding: The state has scaled back its historical practice of globally financing hardline Wahhabi mosques and educational institutions abroad.

Pro-tip: research prevents ignorant spew.
