“Set that coin down” is an odd phrase. Having watched my dad expire in hospice not too long ago I reject the theory that the present is the end stage of humanity. It is a rejection of the Christian promise and worldview.

There is a tiny minority with “victim/perp” mindset but they get incredibly awesome press coverage. Corporate Media will use euphemisms to avoid the template but the whole “oppressor/victim” narrative of the Left is exactly what doctor doom is speaking of and exactly the bond Christ has freed us from.

One thing is that health and life extension are going to radically change.

These systems are becoming democratized. The real sea change is that CRISPR systems are available to 10 times as many people as they were 5 years ago and LLMs have given that hugely expanded pool of people access to all of the research and much of the expertise that was limited to university PhD's before.
There are 1000s of times as much research being done right now as there was 10 years ago.
Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
Idiotic. I watched, in close sucession, a dear professor, my mother, father, and brother all die in hospice of prolonged illnesses. They were very different people. Yet nothing said here reflects the disease nor hospice experience of any of them at all. And I am certain every hospice worker with two functioning brain cells to rub together would agree with me.
This man is a fabulust, narcissist bullshitter. He should be banned from contact with dying people and their families.

When my mom was in hospice, the hospice doctor did not see her at all. The hospice nurse visited her twice a week and got instructions from the doctor over the phone. That has also been the experience of the patients I have had in hospice. I wonder how many bedsides of dying patients this guy sat beside. I am guessing zero to one, or he wouldn't be so glib about saying they all looked back on their lives and saw perfection.

I get where he's going with this. I just don't think it applies to the human species as a whole. I could, of course, be wrong and we may end up done in a few decades as he says. But I'll have long put my coin down and crossed that line into The Great Understanding.
I already think it's been pretty perfect, so I don't need much convincing. And all this other stuff we take part in here, and on other social media sites, is often nothing more than wastewater. At least Ann keeps us more diversified in our topics, often dipping into the arts, or literature, music, or even the origin of words. You know, the things that bring pleasure to life. The things humans have done right.
I don't think our time of life should be spent shouting at the moon- or each other- about politics or social justice (I still don't know what that actually means). I do a lot of that shouting about that crap. I'm trying to back off of it. Its a time suck and I'd rather be looking around that the good stuff I see every day. Maybe I've already crossed over and don't know it. Maybe that's what Florida is.

Hospice care is terrible. Its interesting that once you know you'll be dead in a while, even if its a year, you go from living to dying. You're not dead, but you're dying and you know it.
I'm sure most people once they accept they are dying, realize life isn't so bad, and it was "Perfect" and that its time to leave. Its interestingly how many men about to be executed, just accept it.
To a certain degree, its a macho thing. They want to prove they aren't cowards. They aren't afraid. But I think at a deeper level they understand its time to go, and they're just going to the same place everyone else will, just sooner.
