Says Troy Jackson, in this video posted by his campaign.
That's linked to in the NYT article "Maine Democrats Take Step Toward New Senate Pick, With Jolt of Momentum for Jackson/Troy Jackson, a progressive former State Senate president, showed signs of significant strength, as half the state’s counties picked delegates to a convention where they will choose Graham Platner’s replacement."
Reminds me of that old political joke: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

Maybe he’s not the Nazi rapist Democrats really wanted, but he’s violent. Especially towards women. And that’s not nothing.
All politics is local ~ Tip O'Neill
My hunch is that the 2016 Bernie Primary base (nearly every politically informed voter under the age of 35 back then) essentially became the majority of the Democratic base (including 2nd generation immigrants in ethnic enclaves). Meanwhile, the establishment Democrat party never made a concerted effort to appeal to younger voters. You're seeing the results play out now.
Perhaps the Democratic establishment understands that the election will not be won in NY state & NYC districts that always vote blue. It will be won with swing voters in swing states. Who won't be voting for your favorite socialist.
Maine D losers never beat Collin’s and her margin will be even greater this time. Bank on it. Jaq’s prediction is LOLable.
"We’re well on our way to getting the government that we fuckin' deserve."
Well, he appears upbeat when he's saying it, so I suppose he's expressing optimism.
It’ll be telling how effectively Democrats leverage the recent ICE shooting in Biddeford. The fatal incident has already triggered protests at Susan Collins’ office. Collins called for an investigation and pausing non-urgent stops, but her votes funding ICE without reforms will be a key attack line in this Senate race.
What is it with the casual profanity? I mean, there must be focus groups or some such that encourage D candidates to be profane/obscene. I don't fully understand this, but suspect it is a younger person thing, and is related to the general decline in literacy over the last couple of decades. The sentiments expressed about the government "we" deserve could be made far more biting without vulgarity.
both leftists and Islamic supremacists are aching for the 12th Imam
From labor stooge to progressive populists with a few f-bombs thrown in. Good enough for Democrats.
…no comment on the coarse language. What’s disqualifying for certain Presidents a-okay for Senate candidates…
…not just regular fucking but fuckin’. It shows they care…
“That could be taken 2 ways.
"We’re well on our way to getting the government that we fuckin' deserve."
He seems quite happy about it. Reminding me again that there is no “I” in “We”.
It’s a mark of the contempt that Democrats have for the American workers that they assume tossing a few gratuitous F-bombs into their speech will help them connect with people who work for a living.
When I was stationed in Maine, for a whole year, my assistant was a Maine native. Who explained to me that Maine had the largest proportion of people in the US making >%50K a year- under the table all of it during the summer months, and were unemployed the rest of the year, drawing welfare the whole time.
Those people are likely torn today over who to support. They don't like the crackdown on welfare fraud, that's for certain. And they absolutely detest illegals and the competition they bring, willing to work for less in those under the table jobs. What a conundrum.
"jolt of Momentum!"
Those words would never be used by the Soviet/D/Xi-Press to describe anything on the non-left.
The whole "You're tainted by the Israel lobby" will be standard issue talking point by all leftists going forward.
In this new reboot of "High Noon" it's up to Schoolmarm Susan Collins to take on the bully boys herself. Curious that Maine is the state that was forever priding itself on (Republican) Margaret Chase Smith taking on bully boy of the right Joe McCarthy. But maybe State of Mainers are tired of prim schoolmarm politics.
Like mencken said about democracy
I'm deleting what looks to me like the hijacking of this post.
This post is about Jackson, his coarse speech, and a double entendre that is reminiscent of a very old and much-quoted joke.
Sounds legit
I was on the fence, but when he dropped the F-bomb, that convinced me. He’s the second coming of former Commie hero Graham Platnikov..
…according to AI the closest thing to coarse language ever muttered by Bert and I was ‘jeeminy’ or ‘by gorry’. Ayup…
I am surprised by the use of a pejorative by someone who has, what? -- weeks? -- days? to get as many delegates as possible across such a weird political landscape. Every one of them matters. It makes me wonder what even passes for the common people in Maine these days.
Menken, the "American Nietzsche" relates to his German hero who said:
"School teachers, taking them by and large, are probably the most ignorant and stupid class of men in the whole group of mental workers".
We can only hope that that too is an old joke.
If industrial unions organize against the power of Capital, who do teachers' unions organize against?
That small particle of brain
"who do teachers' unions organize against?"
Parents, mostly.
This guy can’t hold a candle to Rashida Tlaib. She holds the Guinness record for the most F-bombs in a single paragraph. The human Gatling gun. And she does it without taking breath.
Democrats think course language is more common among the working class and the masculine men they want to court, but that's just not the case. It's the people they have in their base that use that language the most, because they generally have no religious or personal standards to stop them. As usual, they are clueless about who they lost and why.
Again with the overly dramatic use of the word, fuck.
They're not doing it right. It has to be spontaneous, not scripted. These politicians think that swearing a lot makes them relatable to the hoi polloi, but that's not true. Most people swear, but most people also think that it's not an ideal thing to do. One of my acting teachers told us that when a character swears, that they are doing so out of frustration because they know that they have lost control of the situation. More often that not, swearing is an admission of defeat.
“Democrats think course language is more common among the working class and the masculine men they want to court, but that's just not the case.”
This is correct. The Donks are making laughably erroneous middle-class assumptions about working-class (not underclass) manners. They should have sent those FBI agents to the checkouts at WinCo, not a Proud Boys march.
The left are rage-fueled. The politicians are - their cult base is.
RAGE is all the rage.
He deserves to be flushed
*"We’re well on our way to getting the government that we fuckin' deserve."*
Careful what you wish for, boy. You just might fuckin' get it.
I was a liberal 50 years ago, but Jimmy Carter helped change that.
It is sad to see how badly liberalism has declined over the past half century. The candidates that Democrats have been choosing are absurdly horrible. The mix of stupidity, suicidal empathy and arrogance are shocking to a lot of normal people.
Most of us will pass in the next 25-30 years. Any thoughts on how bad it will get the?
He better hope that "jolt of enthusiasm" upon his being ordained the Dem nominee holds up better than the jolt of enthusiasm they kept trying to sell us when Kamala was similarly annointed.
*I was a liberal 50 years ago, but Jimmy Carter helped change that.*
While I was still a couple years away from voting, the Democrats I would've voted for were Scoop Jackson and Dixy Lee Ray.
They wouldn't even recognize the Democratic Party today.
In fact, Dixy learned the hard way when they primaried her with Jim McDermott in 1980.
Democrats have a deep-seated need to lose and Troy Jackson is the perfect, bumfuzzled clown to bring it home.
I have never done anything so evil as to deserver to have Democrats in charge of any part of the government.
Gettin' it good and hard, in the outhouse.
Thats the gist
"Gettin' it good and hard, in the outhouse."
Maine Democrats, looking for a candidate:

uh - so My mention of outhouse was Planter related.
That link Mason - OMG.
Mountain Dew? what? what? what?
If I dropped my I-phone in there - I would not attempt it.
Fuck around... This is how burdens... "burdens" h/t Obama of state are conceived.
Masses of people and businesses are leaving Blue state hell.
"That link Mason - OMG."
I doubt the "Mountain Dew" angle, but still... that guy could be a voter. Regardless of what side he's on, it seems to be a good example of why government interference in peoples' lives should be minimized- do you want people like this to be making decisions that affect you?
The eternal question for Mountain Dew man: What was he going to do with it, when he found it?
yeah - drugs more like.
Reminds me of that old political joke: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."
That's a quote from H. L. Mencken. On a typical day i could post that in the comments to at least a dozen news stories.
"Jolt of momentum" - SO THEY HOPE, from the always reliable NYT to help Democrats get as far away from the rapist Nazi socialist stalker they really embraced HARD.
Well it looks like Shah and Bellows, both machine Democrats, have dropped out and thrown their support to Jackson now. The Smoke-filled Room has spoken, and Maine Democrats will likely be left with Blue Collar Jackson, or as I call him, Platner Lite. "Swears Great, Less Nazi".
“You get what you fuckin’ deserve” is what Arthur says to Murray in “Joker” before shooting him in the head.
" Mike (MJB Wolf) said...
exactly why we have a republic
7/19/26, 8:52 AM "
A republic maybe flawed, but in the most inconsequential ways.
But democrats don't want someone 3000 miles away doing something they don't like, so believe flaws are a priority, not realizing that this is exactly the way it's supposed to work.
Philo Vance said the Democratic Theory is that if you accumulate enough ignorance at the polls you produce intelligence.
