Maxxing out.

"Texas looksmaxxing influencer Connor Michael Murphy has drowned in Thailand after he was seen acting erratically and jumping in a lake to avoid cops.... The 32-year-old self-proclaimed 'giga chad,' or alpha-male, had earlier sparked alarm with his erratic behavior as he argued with a security guard at the estate.... His 22-year-old girlfriend said she had no idea what caused the outburst — but claimed he had previously splattered paint in the property while she was sleeping...."

Here's how he looked before he maxxed out:

Chad don't float.

I didn't see how this "looksmaxxing" thing differs from Michael Jackson's body dysmorphia. These men don't end up attractive.

Jamie చెప్పారు...

* don't, not didn't.

And to my shame, I forgot to add that I hope he rests in peace.

I'll admit it. I feel nothing.

Erraticmaxxing jestersplatting leapdrowner.

Yeah.... he looks about smart enough to jump in a lake and forget to breathe.

Obsession... for him. RIP

rehajm చెప్పారు...

…the reporting is weird and ignoring the disturbing cultural differences, there’s a photo of some lab supplies in the mess of…paint? Looks like he was breaking bad and ‘cooking’ …

Connor, we hardly knew ye.

Sad. He was probably a pretty good looking man before he ruined himself with too much body "sculpting"...or whatever it is called.

If you watch his video, he's satirizing the whole identity that the story attaches to him. It's all mocking the looksmaxxing thing. Very strange. I would expect that level of self-mocking to be mentally healthy. Something else happened here. Bad trip or something. Maybe a brain bleed. That happened to my step-dad. One day, his entire personality changed. He was somebody else, angry, reckless. He died a week later.

Is paint something one can "huff"?

"Alpha male"? These guys are more like lions or gorillas who idly lounge around and occupy themselves with grooming until someone younger deposes them and takes over the pride. In this case, though, he did it to himself.

From the video:

"I'll have more bones in my face than any man in human history."

I bet.

He looks like a cartoon character. Mental illness has always been with us, so why, when we have more tools to treat it than ever before, are we so often afraid to call it by its real name?

"...If you watch his video, he's satirizing the whole identity that the story attaches to him. ..."

I don't claim to know his thoughts or his mental state, but I can say that the same thought often strikes me when I listen to NPR - except that I know they're not kidding, and I suspect neither was he. They really are invested in their own ideas, and really do struggle to stay aligned with the real world.

I'm thinking it's a mental state that you get to, when your world view is heavily skewed toward that self-isolating tiny screen.

A couple weeks back, a man jumped into Lake Mead to save a woman struggling in 125' deep water. He saved her, but was never seen again. No good deed goes unpunished.

yikes. No. time. for. that.

Aggie - interesting.
The NPR state of mind. yes - I think that might be a thing.
Bad idea investments lead to mental disorders.

Reminds me of the Liberty Biberty guy. Maybe the seagulls got him.

This is something I can regard with a tranquil lack of interest. Vain, broken, useless people do stupid and impetuous things with devastating consequences, same as yesterday, same as tomorrow...

BarrySanders20 చెప్పారు...

These looks maxxers are extreme narcissists likely mentally ill. They are similar IMO to the anti-aging people that AA has blogged about. Reality just hit one of those freaks -- Bryan Johnson -- whose stomach is now eating itself.

I think people enjoy these stories because it reminds them that although life is short and fleeting, this could not possibly happen to themselves.

My daughter does a great imitation of the Chad face. Cracks me up every time.

No different than the trans. Mental illness.

Just another hopped up jackass. Equal in value to the bearded lady at the circus.

He does look a lot like Patrick Dempsey though.

According to my sources, the guy had proposed himself as Platner's replacement and witnesses say he went into the lake to "introduce myself to the oysters and what not." There are no oysters in the lake, but strangely, the Thai coroner reported "many small avulsions on the body consistent with oyster bites."
