Who remembers the 2nd rank impressionists? They were all good and popular in their day, but nobody really cares. We all remember Jackson Pollock but that's because they made a movie about him. Or Andy warhol because he got shot and was famous. But 25 years from now?

I love this guys outfit by the way. It seems sloppy and thrown together, but you can tell he actually put a lot of thought into.

See "Why David Hockney is my all-time style hero

We already are, and they keep making more of it. At least bad music ends eventually, and meanwhile there are earplugs. But public “art” is deliberately put in our way, and lasts until something worse is put in its place.

Most art isn't very good. That goes double for experimental art. Being an art lover doesn't mean you love bad art; it means you don't mind wading through bad art to find those gems.

How can a person remember someone who died before the person was born?
