"Reviving a political dynasty is best not left to chance.... But just hours into his Day 1 launch, the candidate abruptly announced a change of plans..."

"... according to three people familiar with the events. Forget dialing for dollars — Mr. Schlossberg said he needed a nap. He then effectively disappeared for the day, leaving his team reeling.... [A] group of fellow Democrats, family friends, union leaders and others with direct knowledge of the campaign described an operation so erratic and plagued by turnover that it raises questions about how he might handle himself as a member of Congress. Especially early on, Mr. Schlossberg would regularly blow off weekly strategy meetings called for his benefit, and made a habit of disappearing for long stretches with little notice or explanation. (He did carve out time to swim or paddleboard in the Hudson most days.)...."

Sounds like a lot of Democrats want to be rid of Schlossberg and the NYT is there to help.

What did he do that's so bad — sleep and swim? I'd say let Schlossberg be Schlossberg.

And the Dems look desperate. Another NYT tab I have open in my browser right now is "Democrats Can’t Let This Antisemitic Sex Therapist Win Her Runoff."

They had a pretty boy to make all the Dem women swoon.

I am surprised they actually expected him to do anything. All democrats really need is a pretty face. Democrat voters are either retarded harem girls or they are ballot stuffers collecting mail in ballots from warehouses.

Blowing off meetings and disappearing for long stretches, taking naps and going paddleboarding in the middle of the day. Sounds like this fool is running for a spot in a Democrat Party administration's cabinet-level leadership.

The District 30 Democratic primary House race in Ky has been more interesting than usual. We have the incumbent running, who has had several accusations of "inappropriate behavior" towards women. Another candidate dropped out of the race after he was caught on doorbell cameras taking opposing candidate flyers from mailboxes. No Republicans filed to run for that seat.

I recall an article when he first announced that the family did not support this run and there were rumors of mental illness. I suspect the NYT is putting as kind a spin as possible on his behavior while trying to signal that he should not be voted in.

This is the key observation anyone should take from the article.

They aren't getting rid of schlossberg because he was lazy. Most Democrat leaders are lazy entitled scum who are borderline retarded. They obviously don't actually care if Schlossberg acts like this.

Schlossberg pissed someone off and they are dumping him for contrived reasons.

bagoh20 বলেছেন...

In my opinion, Democrats seems to find the people who are least designed to serve in government, if you want government to be effective and competent at serving the public. They have other qualities that help them get elected, but after that, they are the worst people for the job. I blame their voters, who will elect complete failures over and over again, but what can you expect from a group where 42% think Trump got a kid to shoot him in the ear with a rifle.

rehajm বলেছেন...

Yes I don’t think it’s quite filtered down the hoi polloi and NYT readers yet that the Louisiana decision may be the catalyst that destroys their party. While the leftie elites are trial ballooning forced retirement and replacement of the VA Supremes, the unconstitutional districts are being voluntarily redrawn, and soon good people in blue states could be involuntarily forcing redraws of unlawful districts in blue states. Meanwhile GOP voters are showing they have little tolerance for RINO foot dragging this cycle…I’m enjoying the turmoil and beginning to allow myself some hope..:

Aggie বলেছেন...

Running weak, inexperienced, and unqualified candidates is how the Democrat Central Committee keeps the clowns in line and voting with solidarity, as instructed. Those vicious senile old hacks feel control slipping away as surely as their grip on continence. But I don't see any rout coming in midterms. Especially with RINOs still thwarting redistricting in quite a few states that show as red but bleed purple, especially when it comes to counting the votes in state legislatures.

The press has been knocking themselves out denting the Kennedy name going after RFK Jr, and trumpeting his nuttiness. Yet here goes the Dem Party again, trying to revive the whole Camelot thing (under a different name) using JFK's kook of a grandson? What has this Schlossberg kid ever done other than be dropped from the right uterus and make smug social media posts the faithful approve of?

What a shock he's turning out to be the same lazy, questionable trainwreck he's always appeared to be. Not that that would stop certain voters from choosing him. But who knows what new revelations might be just on the horizon? Surely his campaign people have gotten a good sniff of him, up close. If they're beginning to realize they're pushing a stinky product already, this might be one of the more short-lived candidacy's we've had in a while.

Mike (MJB Wolf) বলেছেন...

Lately it appears that Democrat candidates have the same work ethic as Somalian Learing Center operators, which means doing the absolute minimum to acquiesce to the will of the voters, when they bother to even acknowledge the will of the people. The "I refuse to debate" wing of the D party is almost as large as the malignant DSA wing. The DNC a strange bird with one left wing and an even longer more useless other left wing and no interest in the middle at all.

JFK was also a goof in 1946. His campaign was financed by his father and staffed with cronies and local hacks. He was often disheveled and so young that he was mistaken for an elevator operator, rather than a congressman. But being a goof in 2026 is very different from being a goof 80 years ago.

JFK was lucky we didn't have social media back then. The things he wrote about Hitler in his diary wouldn't have gone over well in those days. He was also lucky not everyone had a cameraphone at all times.
