"... and I just sat on a stool and sang it like a blues guy would. My brother Jon was visiting, and I played the song for him later the same night, and he predicted it would be a smash hit."
Said Chip Taylor, quoted in "Chip Taylor, Writer of ‘Wild Thing’ and Other Classic Rock Hits, Dies at 86/Mr. Taylor, the younger brother of the actor Jon Voight, found success as a songwriter for the likes of Janis Joplin and Juice Newton" (NYT).

I wonder if RFKjr has a copy of the Senator Bobby version of Wild Thing.
He also wrote "Angel of the Morning." Great song. I used to think the line was "just brushed my teeth before you leave me..." Hygiene is important , you know.
I liked this version but I liked Ton-Loc's version better.
"I need 50 dollah to make me hollah
I get paid to do the wild thing."
John Henry
The Troggs. I like several of their songs. I had the wild thing 8 track back in the day wore it out.
She's somewhat sedate now, but it just figures that the uncle of Angelina Jolie wrote Wild Thing. Synchronicity happens in this universe.
Forget about the curve ball, Ricky..
give him the heater
Liked his duets with Carrie Rodriguez, a real cutie.
And he wasn't even a Trogg. Doesn't seem quite right...
He made everything groovy.
I was five years old when I first heard Wild Thing and remember thinking the song possessed a distinctive quality I would later learn was called tongue-in-cheek.
I see Jon Voight at The Masters with his youngish wife. He has a driver and an suv, no John Voit car…
Jimi killed with that song!
RIP, Chip Taylor.
Wild Thing, Angel of the Morning, and I Can’t Let Go? That’s a pretty good legacy.
Juice Newton. That's a name I haven't heard in a while.
I once owned the RFK "Wild Thing" 45. Who knew?
Also gone, Dash Crofts of Seals and Crofts. The summer breeze made him feel fine, but the jasmine in his mind finally caught up with him.
