I agree with Bill Glahn that Epstein Files is now just a McGuffin like Area 51 or the Kennedy Assassination, a term used by various groups of conspiracy theorists who will always claim “the truth is out there” but spend time chasing shadows instead of co-conspirators like Robert Summers and Bills Clinton and Gates.
WaPo “experts” are simply repeating what they DID when employed by Obama and Biden and claiming the info in question can’t be released because a “current investigation” is ongoing. That was their excuse for never providing evidence to the GOP led Congresses.
Why are they providing excuses for Trump? In advance? Is it a sign that they’ll sue to stop the release?
Epstein’s victims aren’t calling for this exposure, as far as I know. Guiffre was one who did, and look how that turned out.

The liability exceeded Epstein’s worth (alive) so they needed him gone in case he turned on them.
Maybe all living witnesses should be reinterviewed now. But no. Democrats voted to keep the Epstein secrets hidden. Just like they did all along.

Whether or not Trump is sincere depends on who benefits most by not releasing the files. Given how stupid the Dems have made themselves look in their desperation to tie Trump to Epstein, I think it’s in Trump’s favor to draw this out as long as he can.

I think we should capitalize 'THE' in the phrase'THE Epstein files'. I want a list of which file are in THE Epstein files and which files are not. This is a ruse. IMO, they will withhold the incriminating docs under the guise of "ongoing investigation," which was triggered by Trump last week.
Members of the House should ensure that the language of the bill is tight enough to actually compel release of all the documents, because what the Oversight committee is "legally entitled to" is up to Congress, not Trump. If Johnson tries to water it down, members should redraft the petition.

I look at Trump's post relationship with Epstein as similar dynamic, you maintain the so-called relationship as an acquaintance-ship, you know the same people, work with the same people, and sometimes conduct direct business with the bastard. Doesn't mean you condone the bad behavior, doesn't mean you engage in that same legitimately bad behavior, but you indulge the locker-room humor, the mean-spirited joshing, the "big swinging dicks" demeanor. It was just part of work-environment, until Me Too movement erupted -- then it added element of fake "oh my God, I'm going to be sued for saying that!" anxiety.

If Congress includes this language, which they have the constitutional power to do;
“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, all persons are authorized to disclose any information responsive to this Act.”
That would override DOJ secrecy rules, override NDAs, shield employees from criminal liability, and allow whistleblowers to speak freely.
Also, if the law doesn't mention Rule 6(e), no one can legally talk about grand jury evidence.

I asked what was Obama doing at Epstein's house? What does "boys" mean in this context? Does it mean hanging out with some guys? Or does it mean boys as in 12-14-16 y/o males? I also asked how wild does something have to be for Epstein to say it is not just wild, but "wild wild"?

I have been very vocal about agreeing with every comment saying release the files. Agreeing in ALL CAPS! and saing we need to find out what the Clintons and Obamas were up to with him. I usually include a copy of the picture of BJ in the blue dress and red heels that hung in Epstein's NYC entryway. Either with BJs permission or in spite of the lack.

Of course, the files -- whatever one means by "files" -- are going to be "scrubbed" by whoever releases them. Or by the relevant agencies long before anyone decides to release them. It would be incredibly naive to think that any adminstration would release the complete and entire files or that the CIA or FBI would let them. Haven't we learned that from the Kennedy assassination files?
