This is the only kind of "reporting" that should still be citing "anonymous sources" in the 21st Century. Actual "news" (as opposed to this type of People magazine or TMZ shit) should strive to at least be better than gossip if they want us to take the product seriously.

I care, only in the sense that it is sad to see an otherwise happy couple having a falling out. When you attend weddings, often you are asked as friends and family to do your part to help keep the marriage together. This seems like a marriage that doesn't need to be dissolved, but both have very strong professional lives. I doubt either wants to give up their art.

19 years is long for a celebrity marriage.
They lost the feels. She has also been starring in, at least from my perspective, Milf/Cougar fantasy roles putting her in compromising positions with younger men. While that's her job, it probably gets old for him to see her turn it on for those scenes, but not for him. (Obviously specualting). Gotta be double trouble when he's likely showered with unfettered love from his adoring fans only to have her look at him and be like, "Ugh. Why is it so loud when he chews? Did he clip his nails recently? Yuck."

Tom Cruise -- alpha; Keith Urban -- beta? That's a personal take, but not a universal and definitive one. The difference might be characterized in better ways. Cruise hogs the spotlight. Urban is more laid back.
Cruise isn't an Alpha because he abandoned his children. A true Alpha builds a powerful family.That doesn't mean Tom's not a man's man.
I don't know anything about Keith Urban.
Shows how much attention I pay to this stuff. I didn't even know they were together, let alone married for 19 years. I thought she was with Tom Cruise.
He looks like he's been tired of the arrangement for a while and stopped being thrilled about worshipping a superstar. IMO he's already met someone who is not a superstar and makes him feel like he's number one or at least on more equal footing. He's not a cheater, and wants a new relationship.
Being a celebrity tends to distort the world for you. What quantum of marital happiness is required after 19 years? What degree of personal divorce-related discomfiture is tolerable? We can say that they have come to know each other and now would rather be apart. Mutual affection and respect are in ever shorter supply. What do people need to be happy?
So Eyes Wide Shut, the sequel, is out?
