Wrote Shane Tamura, quoted in "NYC mass shooter Shane Tamura found with note blaming NFL for giving him CTE — even though he never played pro football" (NY Post).
Terry Long, was a "former Pittsburgh Steelers player who was diagnosed with CTE after downing antifreeze to kill himself 20 years ago."
Tamura apparently intended "to shoot up the NFL HQ — but 'mistakenly went up the wrong elevator banks' and ended up on a higher floor."
Was Tamura influenced by Luigi Mangione?
By the way, "CNN’s Erin Burnett is being skewered for reporting that the gunman who opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper — killing an NYPD cop and three others — was 'possibly white' after viewing the initial security footage released immediately after Shane Tamura’s deadly rampage" (NY Post).

Yes, ramming (pun intended) heads may cause cerebral trauma. The more you know.
We know more about this shooter than we know about the assassin who shot and nearly killed trump.
Rabid DEIsm is a progressive condition common in the rarefied air of the JournoListic parapets.
They've now added something to antifreeze to give it an unpleasant taste. Used to taste sweet, leading to pet deaths from kidney failure.
The convergence of "I'm right about something important and that means I get to do whatever I want to anybody I want" and "Everything is driven by an evil cabal out to get us and everybody except me is responsible for everything bad in the the world" is yielding glorious dividends.
Way to go Saul Alinsky! We did it!
27 year old kid - did he even play college ball, or just high school? Was he medicated, growing up? And how many young kids have concealed-carry permits at the age of 24? Too much is off about this, it reads like somebody with psychological problems.
I mean he writes a note to a dead man, then pleads that they study his brain, and then, shoots himself - where?
Nearly impossible to study his brain for CTE after he destroyed the evidence. Maybe there was previous scans.
Ah, different article says he shot himself in the chest.

The articles I've read this morning only discuss him playing at the high school level. One mentioned that he didn't express any interest in playing at the college or pro levels. We'll learn more as people have time to investigate his past.
Apparently, he was working at a casino in Nevada and is said to have had mental health problems. It looks like he blamed football and CTE for those problems.

oppsie! never mind!
OK lots of questions, as usual.
Walks down NYC street with an AR hung by his side. No one saw and called 911? Walks into the building with an AR by his side. Is there no security at a building deluxe enough to house NFL offices? He played high school football, apparently well and knew, just knew he was NFL material. Not so rare, I've known dozens of HS jocks that were convinced that if they had a better coach.... if they were given a chance.... if they hadn't... . He had known mental illness. OK, to what degree? Was under treatment? Was he considered a threat? Has he displayed violent tendencies? Was he on, as so damn many are, drugs for mental issues? When did those, if they were prescribed begin? He was a security guard at a casino. Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot? Wouldn't a casino do better background checks than most employers?
"CNN’s Erin Burnett is being skewered for reporting that the gunman who opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper was 'possibly white' after viewing the initial security footage released immediately after Shane Tamura’s deadly rampage"
How disappointing it must be for her to learn otherwise.

fify!

And she deserves every second of it!
CNN should be Colberted but more likely the tank will have to run dry to stop it. Erin used to do straight news on CNBC. Guess she found her calling…
When Erin Burnett first showed up on my TV, I thought she'd be a good skew.
Not so sure anymore.
Is Taylor Lorenz in her happy place?
Tamura was only 27... so when did he drink this antifreeze??? Or what? And I wouldn't give his brain to research... I'd just throw it into a NYC incinerator... that is what he deserves.
Nutjob killers need to be treated as vermin... do not make them a hero or victim.
And nice to see NYC still has gun control... no one to stop a nutjobs doing their deeds.. unlike the knife guy in Michigan who was stopped by a good guy with a gun.
Maybe that is why he went to NYC.. see the NFL has offices all around the USA... he picked NYC cause it is a gun free zone.

You’d think. But background checks don’t seem to be a thing anymore. Semi-related: A police officer tries to buy a gun and gets busted for being an illegal alien: https://x.com/BillMelugin_/status/1949922834618466445

Tamura didn’t drink anti-freeze. He cited the case of former NFL player Terry Long who did.
all those worthless leftist gun laws.
when crime is allowed - this is what you get.
Good luck with mamdani.
It was factual reporting. Everybody is "possibly white".
The push to stop football because of CTE is now responsible for 5 more deaths. CTE might be real for many but if there's no way to check until someone is dead, it's essentially giving the less stable a reason for their evil behavior. Tragedy.
CNN is very eager to blame whites for anything untoward. But if two white people are nearly beaten to death by a mob of blacks in Cincinnati CNN is utterly silent.
Where is Les Nessman when we need him?
I worked in that building for a decade. If you double park on Park Avenue, it's a short open walk across the plaza to the front doors. Once in, choose right, Blackstone; choose left, NFL (among others). For his purposes, he chose incorrectly.
Erin Burnett is the white, female version of Don Lemon.
The National Felon's League isn't good for America.
Guy is overwhelmed with despair about his life (no girlfriend, no family have come forth); decides to shoot himself; decides to shoot others and himself for a cause so as to be famous at last; takes wrong elevator after shooting several people including a woman in the building lobby; realizes he is in wrong place; shoots himself.
Not a hero to anyone; is hustled from the front pages by the leftys
""to shoot up the NFL HQ — but 'mistakenly went up the wrong elevator banks' and ended up on a higher floor."
Oh well....as long as I'm here then.....
THe leftists at MSM cant stop playing racial politics with these shootings. If possible, they always try to identifiy the killer as white or conservative. Often they'll lie or jump to the conclusion the killer was white or conservative.
If black or leftist, then they try to minimize or hide it. And any anti-white or anti-conservative motivation is hidden or minimized.
They've been doing this for a long time. Walter Cronkite was blaming "Dallas segregationists and Ultra-rightwingers" for JFK's assassian on the day of his death.
1 cup of antifreeze will kill you. So, try to minimize your intake.
The headline and the way the article is written is very weird. It seems to derail from Tamura to CTE and a dead NFL player and make that the focus.
And are we really supposed to believe he went to the NFL offices to kill people SOLELY to revenge Long ? I think there were other reasons for his actions.
"Mostly peaceful" shooting by "mostly white" shooter. Thanks CNN!
CNN is like Kevin Bacon from Animal House. We already loss a multimillion dollar lawsuit. OH YES THANK YOU SIR! NOW GIVE US ANOTHER!
Journalist wishcasts on national TV, finds out.
"Where is Les Nessman when we need him?"
Canned after the turkey drop fiasco.
Quaestor asked…
"Where is Les Nessman when we need him?”
Lazarus responded…
“Canned after the turkey drop fiasco.”
The turkey drop was Arthur Carlson’s idea. He was the station manager and son of the owner.
Burnett needs some time off without pay.
Yeah--sorta like a "white Hispanic"--except this dude was three shades darker than that.
Terry long played in the NFL from 1984 to 1991.
Before this whack job was born.

Most people, most of the time, will turn right. Even the lefthanded will usually turn right.
"Was Tamura influenced by Luigi Mangione?"
He may have been, if he actually believed the delusion that the had been in the NFL and suffered CTE. But as a general rule, many people who feel wronged by someone or by an organization may lash out violently towards the person or group who screwed them over. This has been happening since mankind existed.
The difference here is that this perceived wrondoing by the NFL looks like a delusion that he believed. So all bets on motive are off.
yeah crazy person is going to go crazy, long mistoke antifreeze for an energy drink
its an absurd take, but this is an tragic absurdity, some thought he was one of the Hamas crazies, it's an understandable mistake,
What's the bet he's been self-medicating for twenty years? It won't be just CTE if it is at all.
This story along with the mob beat down of the white couple in Cincinnati is going to disappear faster than a snowball in Death Valley.
Until the gun-person tells us what race and gender they identify as, we really can't say much about them with any degree of certainty.
You people are fucking disgusting.
If this guy didn't have CTE (and he probably didn't, it takes a lot longer to really cause problems), he was probably schizophrenic (he was the exact age when the symptoms start to manifest). And, instead of trying to get him help, he was mocked and ridiculed by people just like you.
The shooter "was mocked and ridiculed by people just like you."
You know this how? What's your best source for details on his life?
Exercising liberal license to entertain abortive ideation in order to relieve a "burden" following progressive principles is no ethical vice. Degenerate.
Yeah. That's what I thought Freder would say.
