Why do the Dems pick the people they pick and offer to the voters? It's strange. Like Kamala and this guy, for example.

They're not sending their best.

All Democrats hate Trump first, Musk second, and the rest of the Nation - 3rd.

Democrats adore themselves and their crappy destructive ideas. Sorry Tim - it's not about you. You're all the same.

Who better? AOC, Crockett, Booker, Newsom, Mayor Pete, Hillary, Warren? Who? Who has actually done great things they can trumpet (and, no, tossing trillions at a string of buddies is not doing great things). Who has done rational things like pushing back on BLM when the cry, "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em up like bacon"? Or didn't support defund the police. Or agrees SOME limits to abortion are even worth discussing. That 9 years olds should have a dominate voice on their gender. Or that millions of illegals is not a "secure" border and gang bangers from other countries are a bad thing. And on and on...

Just who have they got?

The Vault Dweller કહ્યું...

So is this fighting over scraps or rearranging deck-chairs on the Titanic? It feels like cultural zeitgeist is turning against most of the woke identity-politics issues that have been mainstays of Democrats for a couple generations. What issues do Democrats still have? The populace at large is very much anti-illegal immigration, Republicans under Trump have already flanked the Democrats on the working class, I think abortion is still a solid issue for Democrats but that by itself can't sustain the party. And the Karen scolds that are influential on the Left seem to have no grasp over how deeply they are despised across varied different groups in America. The female bullying tactics that the woke Left have employed have been effective at keeping people silent, but too many folks confused that silence with agreement. I don't see how the Democratic party can have long-term viability without significantly reworking it's platform.

Peachy કહ્યું...

The Democratics are so invested in hate, lies, fear and scams - they miss the big picture. The American people who are harmed by their hate, lies, fear and scams.

I just saw a great Harris ad, at least for showing why Democrats have such a hard time with men. It's a boomer wife, wearing her glittery MAGA style hat, with her MAGA husband, and the whole message of the ad is "He can't see how you really vote! (wink, wink)" and she votes Harris and lies to him. I wish I could find it.

Temujin કહ્યું...

The Kamala/Walz ticket was the worst Presidential ticket in my lifetime. And it's not even close. Neither of those two are capable of filling the shoes of Chief Executive of a small bakery, let alone the United States.

After Walz's performance during the George Floyd riots that gutted Minneapolis, I was shocked that he got reelected. But...it's Minnesota.

Peachy કહ્યું...

Hey Tim - tell us about the lint in your belly button.

So the sole policy he addresses with the reporter is lashing out at people who believe girls should have their own sports back: he throws every female athlete in the nation under the bus to defend the policy of allowing "transgender" males to compete against females; use their bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers, and steal their scholarships. Keep on talking, Coach Tim. Do keep talking.

Though I bet he didn't whisper a word about that issue at Senator Clyburn's fish fry in South Carolina, represented in the article by a picture of well-dressed elderly black church ladies cheering for him.

Jaq કહ્યું...

"After Walz's performance during the George Floyd riots that gutted Minneapolis, I was shocked that he got reelected."

A) Democrats own the press.
B) isn't that the state where Senate races are decided by endless counting, and then a car trunk full of ballots shows up, because Democrats had underestimated the number of votes that they would need to manufacture?

Mr. D કહ્યું...

I have lived in Minnesota for over 30 years. In the main, it's been a great place to live despite the terrible politicians who run the government, but Walz has been something else. He's horrible. Unfortunately, the Republicans in Minnesota are a sad sack bunch and the DFL vote harvesting machine in the metro is so strong that it's difficult to change things. You see the same dynamic in Washington state, where the clown show in Seattle is able to dominate the rest of the state.

What exactly is the Democrat platform? They never list it in total, if at all. Perhaps if they did and read it out loud to themselves they'd understand why they are doomed.

Inga, come back and list all of it proudly.

Bob Boyd કહ્યું...

I dunno, Beshear? Dean Phillips? Even damaged Cuomo would be better than what they've been offering and the Dems are the ones who damaged him. Problem is, they're all white males.
It's a shallow bench.

Big Mike કહ્યું...

@Bob Boyd, consider the possibility that the Democrats are sending their best, and that the rest are even worse.

Anyone besides me remember when the Democrats and the news media were pushing the meme — started by Walz! — that JD Vance was “weird”? And who is it that talks out loud to himself in public?

Sally327 કહ્યું...

I call it the Bill Clinton effect. Every politician thinks that they can rebound from some disastrous event, which in Bill Clinton's case was his speech at the 1988 Democrat National Convention. They just have to pick themselves up and get back in there and find that one moment, one situation that will put them back on the road to being taken seriously again (which in Clinton's case was going on the Tonight Show with Carson, poking fun at himself, playing the sax, etc.).

Or maybe Tim Walz prefers speechifying to governing. Of course Minnesota is so well-run he probably doesn't have much to do in that job.

I still count the Kerry/Edwards ticket as the worst, but yes, Harris/Walz gives them a run for the money. McCain/Palin deserve mention as well.

Dude1394 કહ્યું...

How maddening must it be for serious Minnesotans to have this clown prancing around while their state is dysfunctional. By law layoff notices have to go out today because they have no budget passed. Whatcha bet they will blow off that law because they are democrats. While the state stops he’s prancing around for something. This is why Democrat single party states are dysfunctinal.

Dude1394 કહ્યું...

The Harris/waltz ticket was horrible and yet they still received a lot of votes. AND the house is still way too close. Trump will be pardoning people left and right if democrats get back into the house. He will have to, to protect them from corrupt democrat lawfare.

Bob Boyd કહ્યું...

The Dem voters I know are looking for the new Bernie Sanders. They think Bernie would have beaten Trump if he hadn't been screwed by Hillary and would have led the Dems to paradise. It's delusional IMHO.

Romney/Ryan was easily and far away the worst Republican ticket for at least decades and they were almost all terrible.

Anyone who pretends that in 2012 the people who supported Mitt Romney in the primary were fantastically and stupid wrong is missing why we are where we are today.

But I know why a lot of people on this board want to forget 2012. It is because they made the same stupid mistake in 2024 and haven't learned a god damn thing from the past.

Trump seems to be governing like a first term President, not a guy who doesn't have to care about another election. I think he want's to pass the torch. If he doesn't pass the torch, his mission to make America great again will have failed and the country will continue to decline.

Of course; The Democrats have LEARNED!
Now, they are using Olivia Julianna.. a big fat cow to sway young white males.

Because THE ONLY THING MORE attractive to young white males, than an openly gay chinese communist agent is Olivia Julianna!
"Julianna, a queer, plus-size, disabled Latina of Mexican-American descent, checks every identity box imaginable, making her an unlikely but potentially genius choice for a party desperate to reconnect with a group that’s been slipping away. But is it brilliance or desperation? That’s the question everyone’s asking."

McCain was the worst POTUS candidate. Its nice of think of how much bigger he loss margin would've been if he'd got his "Dream" VP selection - Joe Lieberman. In fact, McCain in his 2016 book, McCain said his biggest regret was not telling the Rightwing to "Go to hell" and picked his BFF Joe Lieberman.

And to think that he might have been a heartbeat away from the White House, if he hadn’t ditched the military, when his unit was getting ready to be deployed to a war zone. With that, he went from the Sergent Major who is loved because of his mentoring, to the type who were fragged during Vietnam. For every serviceman who r a towards the guns, he was the one turning around and running away. And what’s worse - he was the senior NCO leading the flight from the guns. Much worse - because they are supposed to lead by example.

That’s one big reason that he can’t pull off the dude talk thing. The guys who matter, know who, and what he is - a coward. And that means that manly men can’t take him seriously. If he had led his men into combat, as real men do, instead of turning tail and running away, his peculiarities would be mostly forgotten. But he didn’t, so they won’t be. Guy code can be unforgiving. That’s because this part of it is vital to the survival of the community.

There are 2 generic types of men in the democrat coalition:

1. The men you cannot tell if they are gay or not. Obama. And some of these like Walz are pretty obviously pedos.

2. Elite wealthy charismatic men who tend to be rapists. Clinton.

But this describes a really small number of actual men. They are trying to replace them with soy boys groomed in our education system to grovel at the feet of women.

But shockingly this isn't turning out to be successful.

Actually, it's more than just Seattle. It's King County.

There used to be a thing called the Cascade Crescent, where the legislative districts (the 5th, 45th, 48th and parts of others) were solid Republican. Then Big Tech moved in, the ultra-rich Left took over and this state will never see a Republican governor or legislative majority again.

Every county in the US increased its vote for Trump between 2016-2024. The Dems had such an advantage at the start of that period in the cities and in the way they count votes that this change shows up as a seemingly small percentage difference in support as between Republicans and Dems. But it's huge in its implication of an irreversible momentum, a move away from the Dems in the face of their "complete cultural control" which I guess is not as complete as they thought. Seeing that fact, the brighter spirits leading the Dems are crouching down out of sight and revising their approach - the Carville Caper. They'll speak respectfully to MAGA people and pick up on our slogans and try to mix left populism into MAGA. But they aren't going to change any more than Fake Jake and they'll keep on insisting on murdering babies, mutilating children, letting men assault women and steal their trophies and denigrating real men. So regular people will continue to slip slide away.
