The Times gets into some of Brand's "historical" bad behavior:Scotland Yard said the charges related to alleged historical sex offences against four separate women, between 1999 and 2005, and are alleged to have taken place in Bournemouth and London....
In 2000, Brand took a presenting job on MTV. He was sacked a year later after he arrived at work the day after 9/11 dressed as Osama bin Laden....
Brand resigned from the BBC in 2008 after he and another presenter, Jonathan Ross, made prank calls to Andrew Sachs, which resulted in more than 42,000 complaints. The pair referred to Brand having sex with the actor’s granddaughter....
And his recent good behavior:
Last year Brand announced that he had been baptised in the River Thames as he sought to embrace Christianity. Brand, who was previously Buddhist, said he saw baptism as an opportunity “to die and be reborn.”
And now he faces a rape trial. Another opportunity to die.
AND: Brand responds:
When I was married to Katy Perry, there wasn’t anything off-key with her, nor was she involved in anything nefarious.

Our marriage didn’t work out for normal, human reasons. I have nothing but respect for her!

He seems to have built himself a good life over the past few years and I have enjoyed his content on Youtube. I follow him less now since he moved most of his videos to rumble. I wish him well.
Twenty. Years. Ago. And people are perplexed at falling fertility...
This is what happens when you abandon your leftist orthodoxy and say negative things about the deep state/military/pharma industrial complex. And endorsing Trump was a bridge too far!
There's a horrifying outbreak of child sexual assault in Great Britain within certain, easily identifiable populations, and something must be done!
I know, let's prosecute Russell Brand.
He could always convert to Islam and move to Rotherham - then it would be like none of this ever happened.
No police report at the time, it didn't happen.
I wonder what physical evidence they have from 20 years ago.
1999, 2001, 2004, 2005
Strange how these horrible crimes were not so horrible back then.
Andrew Sachs is the guy who played Manuel on Fawlty Towers. If he could take getting whacked on the head with a frying pan by John Cleese, he can probably take two comedians badmouthing his granddaughter.
Really, Sachs should be cancelled for his over-the-top stereotypical portrayal of a Spanish waiter. Or I suppose the indigenous Christian Spaniards are up for grabs again?

I find Brand fairly entertaining. As to whether he's a good man, a bad man, a good man who used to be bad, I just don't know.
But the idea that anyone could reliably hash through sexual goings-on from between 20 and 26 years ago is simply ridiculous. Have they not heard of limitations periods?
This type of prosecution, like the bullshit they ginned up against Le Pen in France last week, will contribute further to the erosion of confidence in public institutions.

And for crimes allegedly taking place 20 to 26 years ago!
In Europe criminal law is just the things we do together to punish our political enemies. It’s the crime of Lèse-majesté. Same as Trump in NYC.
Funny how people who question the globalist regime have sex abuse cases from decades ago brought against them.
Brand is a good person trying to do good things.
The people ruling Britain right now are evil people doing evil things.
Having said all that, Brand didn't do himself too many favors with his standup about tear-inducing BJs. Yes, he has the Andrew Dice Clay defense - my stage persona isn't me - but it's an unneccessary uphill climb.

So is that why the rape gangs in Rotherham and elsewhere have not been prosecuted? Twenty-six years have not yet elapsed?
Can we now admit now that the Blazy Fords of the world are paid political liars. You get money, heroic publicity, and contact with celebrities, suborning witnesses I guess.
I wonder how many women forced themselves upon him over the years while he was inebriated. Imagine him charging those "brave empowered" women with rape 20 years later. Some people are more equal than others.
Born again Christian against born again me to Puritans. I don't think I really care.
Iman - the Brits dug-up Oliver Cromwell's body three years after his death and "executed" him posthumously. Talk about holding a grudge.
The corrupt left attempting to destroy him.
that's how they role... er I mean roll.
Four separate women have come forward so far. I predict the number will grow to more than 20 as more women remember. Believe all women lives even after the Brett Kavanaugh fiasco of 2018.
Sometimes the mantra to behave all women is tested by prosecutorial behavior.
Anyone can be "credibly" accused of rape for alleged incidents that happened decade ago. The E. Jean Carroll case showed that the "victim" not only needn't have reported the incident at the time, she doesn't have to be able to specify with a year or two when it occurred, making it impossible to establish an alibi.
Why this late? Well...Brand has always been a jerk and was much worse in the past. He left the lefty plantation during COVID, so the lawfare crowd will try to punish him forevermore. He dumped Youtube for Rumble because he challenged the Biden/Fauci/WHO narrative, and took along a large cult-like following.
I don’t know if Brand put these accounts in his book but, If he did, he should have made amends. In the 12 steps there’s more than just saying I repent.
I seem to recall earlier efforts to persecute Brand for this 'starf*cker-as-future-victim' category. Or is this the same one, progressing its way through the system?
The Brits seem to be going for some kind of culture-wide cognitive impairment prize, given their penchant for prosecuting the citizens that remark upon observable reality to the discredit of government, while the path is cleared for their young women to be routinely groomed and trafficked and abused to madness by the nonpunishable.
Brand is someone I find fasciating, but he has been his own worst enemy. He has repeatedly, publicly admitted to crossing many lines far past sexual coercion and blames it on prior drugs and sexual addictions. Nice to see that he says he has changed his ways, and I actually am inclined to believe him, but his case is uniquely detailed -- by him.
If Brand had done what he has admitted to doing to women and teens to your daughter, I doubt you'd ballessly retreat to your own version of identity politics. I think I've made it pretty clear that I oppose all flavors of identity politics here. I had little use for nascent #metoo type movements decades before folks here even knew they existed. I'd rather see the British go after the Muslim sex groomer murder gangs with their warped and politically correctly castrated justice resources, but all alleged victims deserve their day in court, too.
Don't get born again on the evening talk shows until the statute's run is the only larger message here.
Now it matters. The first rule of social liberal club is...
The charges are credible. He was aggressively in pursuit of sex and high most of the time during those years. Still it would take a particle physicist to apportion the spin, orbit, and direction of his entanglements. The charges were made years later. The victims were apparently not so outraged that they immediately filed charges, and they chose to party with a man who proclaimed his love of drugs and sex......One can't help but think that these charges have more to do with his current political views than with his past offenses. He's always had political views that were extreme, but one notes that when he was an extreme leftist, these allegations were not made.
That’s a grudge too far, Sheridan! I’d forgotten all about that, lol.

Women and men both. He was quite sought after.
Maybe they should all just get 'em sewed shut.
Apparently, the various sexual assault statutes have some peculiarities relating to Muslim men. That is, exemptions.
Ex Katy Perry is behind it all. She can't forgive him for publishing a photo of her without makeup.
Prosecutions of this sort deter autobiographical revelation. .
But it's nice to know that the Tories will have no statute of limitations problems once they return to power and decide to enforce the law.
Then Brand's religious belief was Buddhist, his politics were Leftist and he had nothing gad to say about Islam. Now Brand's religious belief is Christian, his politics Right and he rails against Islam.
Yeah, why would anyone prosecute his sex crimes of yesteryear when he was no threat? Now he is a threat to public order and decency.

They've already done that. In the year 897, they dug up Pope Formosus, put him on trial, found him guilty and then threw his body in the Tiber river.
and hes been against big pharma and the schwab minions,
This is yet another example of having to separate the person from their art. I, for one, still enjoy his stirring rendition of "Furry Walls" from the movie, "Get Him To The Greek."

The charges are credible-.
@William and if some young woman showed up at the local police station and insisted you coerced her into giving you oral sex 24 years ago — or maybe it was 25 or 22 years ago — how do you propose to defend yourself? Maybe she did provide oral sex but it was consensual. More likely the incident never happened but she has a grudge. Maybe you asked someone else to the Prom. Maybe you received a promotion that in her mind only went to you because of the patriarchy (and not because you solved problems while she bitched about her bad luck to have to deal with any problems at all).
Maybe the two of you have never met, never even been within several whole states of each other, but you are prominent and she just doesn’t care for your politics.
For our system to be just does it not have to be seen as fair? How does one defend against a “he said - she said” charge from a quarter century ago?
This is what happens when a liberal becomes a conservative. These crimes occurred 20 years ago, but there's no statute of limitations for this in England.

The problem with your statement is that it misses the actual problem. The women that he "abused" mostly did not have dads or dads who cared. Also he was in these parties and situations where the women knew what they were trying to do and who they were trying to get with.
If women were smart they would go back to no sex before marriage. But they aren't. They want sex during their childbearing years from as many Chads and Tyrones as they can get. If you want to play the game then accept the consequences and stop whining about the game you are knowingly playing.
Women always choose assholes. They shit on nice guys. You need to stop pretending and asking the nice guys to care.
And if you are putting down charges 20 years after the fact working with a globalist regime to attack someone who is politically opposed to the regime you are just an evil person.
The women helping the Starmer Regime attack their political opponent are evil people. Period.
It's fine to remark that neither Russell Brand nor Andrew Tate were as attractive as they thought, but it's also fine to notice that British dissidents are the main people being tied to this new form of lawfare. I'm sure globalists would love to do the same to President Trump, but he's already in a mood where "hanging judge" is about to take on a whole new meaning.
Either way, the only people more useful to the globalist regimes than "British Muslims" are the dopey law and order types who insist that the courts are oh so fair and just.
And because we apparently forgot that the UK brought similar charges against Julian Assange, what are we to make of this? That anyone who isn't an approved centrist is probably guilty of rape, or just that people who continue to defend the globalist justice system are hopelessly evil cowards?
it is easy to be cynical, re Romania, you see their handling of the law, re Airship One, funny how there are no charges against randy Prince Andrew,
England is a shithole
the reverse is also true, sometimes take Tariq Ramadan, the superstar Islamist professor, who takes certain passages of the Koran with relish,
Too bad Brand didn't come to the US for such activities so the victims could have parks named after them.

Readering: "Too bad Brand didn't come to the US for such activities so the victims could have parks named after them."
The George Floyd contingent chimes in....as if they have some sort of moral standing.
The thousands of islamic supremacists who were sex grooming thousands of caucasian minors for DECADES in cities all over Britain walk freely among their victims and laugh as they see how the left in Britain (just like the left in the US) caters to their every need.
The victims of these attacks, telling horrific stories, include in those stories the lowlife british police arresting the caucasian children even when found in the active assault phase by the islamic supremacists.
There are lots and lots of "victoria" and "P-Inga" and "gadfly"-types in the british police service.
Alleged crimes from 20+ years ago?? Where were the alleged victims and investigators all the way back then?
Achilles, as I've said many times here, I was one of the first and often the only person to publicly testify and write, at great professional cost, against the real intentions and actions of the campus feminist #metoo movement -- because I worked with real crime victims and believe in real incarceration and real due process, not mass demonization of men.
And I share much of Russell Brand's current politics, but he has spoken, on his own, about forcing himself on women when addicted to sex and drugs. Do I think they would prosecute him if he was still spouting leftism? Probably not. But his is an odd case. He admits he brought this on himself and regrets some of his actions. Britain -- and we -- would do well to get back to equality in the courts for both offenders and victims, regardless of their politics or status. Drago is completely right, but the only way out of this identity politics mess is to oppose it for everyone.
This is what happens to people who cross the neocons.
Interesting....and chilling....to learn the UK doesn't have statutes of limitation as we do in the US, at least regarding criminal accusations of rape or sexual assault.
Imagine how many Blasey Fords and Jean Carrolls would be "coming forward to charge prominent men of raping them 25 or more years ago.
Imagine courts trying to deal with the extra caseload.
Imagine the rapacious trial lawyers.
Imagine Trump having to appear in court every day for the rest of his life.
That last hypothetical would be a relentless driving force to politically geld Trump and put him in an orange jumpsuit matching his tan. It would be a party-wide Democrat wet dream.
The feminist viewpoint is that all men are rapists, but we only prosecute the ones we don’t like at the moment. The charges are all ready for when we need them.
High quality sex bots will eliminate this problem, a man with any resources would be a fool to play the sexual field now.
If they cannot remember when or where it happened, then it did not happen. Jean Carroll managed to get a man convicted without remembering where it happened or when it happened. The left learned from the Kavanaugh lies not to put in details, or your lies can be exposed. I do not believe crap from 20 plus years ago without evidence. And still we have seen NOT ONE of the visitors to Epstein's island prosecuted. Let's see some evidence.
I worry a lot more for British patriot, conservative, actor Laurence Fox, who has probably never said an impolite word to a woman yet has lost his livelihood on the BBC (Inspector Lewis), yet fights on, and Tommy Robinson, in prison for merely opposing mass rape of British schoolgirls by Muslim groomers, and Mark Steyn, who was nearly murdered by procedure by courts in America and Britain by judges who forced him to spend decades in courtrooms and fly to hearings against doctors' orders as he endured multiple heart attacks from the stress. I predict Fox will be imprisoned for hate speech, but he doesn't care. These men fought their whole lives and are being criminalized merely for warning us about what is coming.
@Josephbleau, smart phones ruined playing the field. I remember tension in the air even as early as 2008. Men always knew that some women lack a sense of propriety, discretion and honesty regarding consensual sex, but the smart phone massively increased the cohort defined as "some".
Really sad. It didn't have to be this way.
"The feminist viewpoint is that all men are rapists, but we only prosecute the ones we don’t like at the moment."
Sure looks that way.
And for those who worry exclusively about wealthy powerful men accused by #metoo, you need a reality check about real rape prosecution. When I was raped by a catch-and-release nascent serial killer who broke in through a window in 1986 and even told me his name, which I survived throught strength and brains as it was a long attack, one count against trying my case in court was that I had birth control in my house when he broke in. The DA said the defense attorney would destroy me on the stand for that. I was 21, in a committed relationship. I have hundreds of far worse stories. He got out early five times. He kept raping. I spent thousands of dollars trying to keep him in prison -- for other women, murdered and alive.
He could still walk any day. I learned how truly unjust the system is to victims. Walk in my shoes.
It was practically impossible to get before a jury, let alone keep these guys in prison until DNA and even after it. This is why I figured out #metoo early: I worked on serious, recidivist, stranger, violent rape cases, and #metoo poisoned the jury pools we had worked for decades to educate about extremely unambiguous crimes, just so these late accusers could go after paydays and frat brothers (not all of whom are automatically innocent either).
I have binders of women denied even a day in court when some stranger got them, and they weren't out looking for casual sex, and there was strong evidence, but some DA just shelved the prosecution. There's another side to this. There's no justice: there's just us.
As obviously nutty as Brand is, I place zero weight on ancient, non-contemporaneous accusations. Maybe these will bring out more recent and provable/disprovable cases.
certainly true but these celebrity cases are something else
https://x.com/LauraPowellEsq/status/1907894301117526422
accusations as lawfare,
Agree with prior post, suggesting Brand convert to Moslem faith and move outside of London Home Countries, where sexual assault and child grooming is tolerated by police as "culturally appropriate for certain cultures".
My question: so no investigations, no charges occurred those many years ago when supposed sexual attacks occurred, but now charges are filed, with no physical evidence, based solely on testimony on decades-old encounters with famous actor? They used to be called groupies and star*******, there used to be a great deal of casual sex at concerts, clubs, and parties.
I'm from that era. Back then we didn't blame the guys, and the girls probably little serious remorse morning afterwards. Years later, we remember our young selves, dismayed at how foolish and risky our social outings could be.
All involved should have asked their partners, "Will you still respect me in two or three decades?"
There are valid reasons for a statute of limitations.
You should not be able to wait until someone pisses you off to scream about a serious crime if you didn't bother when it happened. The Jean Carroll clown show is a perfect example of the facts really being irrelevant to the trial and verdict, and it being a show put on with completely unfounded story lines, and then asking jurors who they like as the villain.
I don’t know what happened to my previous post on this thread, but the long and short of it is that I do not see how Brand — or anyone else — can defend himself against sexual allegations from more than two — or 2 1/2 — decades ago. Did the alleged sexual act even take place? Trust women? Not after Christine Blasey Ford!
For Justice to be “just” it has to be perceived as fair. And asking someone — Brand or anyone else — to defend “he said -she said” charges after all those decades is manifestly unfair.
The attempt to take him offline is real. Brand is a bigger threat than the people they arrest daily for making a disapproved comment on line. England is lost.
"And asking someone — Brand or anyone else — to defend “he said -she said” charges after all those decades is manifestly unfair."
Deserves got nothing to do with it. - William Munny
Tina Trent - for some situations, kin justice was vastly superior to organized courts. Mistakes are made in both cases.
Tina: I am truly so very sorry you had such a horrible experience. Best to you.
Oso, I actually believe kin justice of my people had a code that prevented many more mistakes than our current justice system, and I think I speak with a good bit of demoralizing evidence. Also, these Muslim woman-haters are godless animals. It's a shame. A disgrace we let them in.
Thank you, Olson. That was a kind thought. I'm fine, my bucket list of enemies is being dealt with -- within the boundaries of our pathetic justice system. Frankly, I'd rather be raped again than be subjected to the maoist bullshit of graduate school. At least my rapist was an honest torturer. If you gave me a choice, I'd share a cell with him rather than go back into academia. They rape your soul and your brain there.
