LATER: "We have to be protective of our geniuses. But that one is a good one" (about Elon Musk).
AND: It's funny that on the eve of the inauguration, Trump did a campaign-style rally. I remember thinking when he did a rally the night before the election that I was watching his last rally. I remember thinking it must be quite poignant for him. But here he is tonight, re-embodying Trump the Candidate, making the greatest comeback of all time. When it was all over and time to for "YMCA," we got The Village People in person....

I can't imagine what it'd be like to be shot like that....and have the courage to stand up again and keep going to rallies.
I am a Trump supporter. But before he got shot I thought he was running solely for narcissistic reasons. The way he reacted after getting shot made me see him in a different light. He has courage and is doing this for reasons beyond his personal ego.
The people who want to control America's war machine are very dangerous, and they don't like Trump. They loved Joe Biden, they even liked Barrack Obama, as long as he had Joe Biden as VP and had him in charge of troublemaking in Eastern Europe. I am very worried for Trump, and am glad that he was in a position to pick his own VP for his own reasons.
they tolerated biden, because he was their tool, its arguable they were able to fool obama, in some parts, and at odds in others
he opposed the large scale deployment of weapons to ukraine the first time around, perhaps because of it's part in supporting the Baathist regime,
The rally just ended. The actual Village People came on stage to do YMCA, and Trump stayed to do his jerking-off-two-guys dance.
No one can ever again accuse him of homophobia.

The Soros Soviet Antifa fascist-thug mask wearing/ Blackrock ad paid patsy left would love to kill Elon.
I read recently that it was never intended as a gay anthem, but as a fun party song for young guys - and the group then had to make a career-direction choice to keep performing it, and a second one when Trump started using it at his rallies.
What really surprises me is that nobody has come up with a new last verse that uses "M - A - G - A, Yeah gimme gimme more M - A - G - A !"
Doubt. The other one was "In the Navy" Not saying that if you are in the navy, you are gay, I'm not Billy Joel.
"Paul is a real estate novelist, who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davey, who's still in the Navy, and probably will be for life."
Trump's dance move is more like a towel dry of the shoulders.
You pervs.
Trump's dance move is more like a towel dry of the shoulders.

He likes us. He really, really, likes us.
Ukraine had a "part in supporting the Baathist regime"? You mean Saddam Hussein' Baathist regime? This is utterly false.
Wikipedia has a whole article on "Ukrainian involvement in the Iraq War" which reports that 18 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 40+ wounded fighting on our side. They also sent a small contingent to help the fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan, and more recently played a large role in the overthrow of Saddam's buddy Assad, providing HTS with drones and training on how to use them. Please don't make stuff up.
Good times, now back to work. Dems have done so little to advance the country. They've shot their wad persecuting Trump all these years, pretending to be working for the USA. What with the battery fire and all, California has paid a heavy price. Clown time is over.
Megyn Kelly reminds the crowd that ordinary Americans fought back against the left's woke Soviet speech crimes and race obsessions - and child abuse.
Trump employs thousands of people in his hospitality empire. House keepers, janitors, doormen, valets and grass cutters. Real people.
Agree.. but he is making HISTORY... just huge history... truly the man of the hour.
It is possible that Trump will continue doing rallies during his presidency as a means of communication with the public. Sort of like FDR's fireside chats.
Lend me Trump’s ear.
200 executive orders on day one. I hope he also starts repealing EOs that are no longer needed or counter productive as well. TikTok survives, now narcissist can rejoice and TikTok brain addiction continues unabated. Lets hope DOGE really gets off the ground.
These insufferable pep rallies are getting obnoxious right about now. I would think the rah-rah crowd could do their rah-rah-ing at home. There's a video up on Twitter of the Reagan 2nd Inaugural Concert featuring Frank Sinatra singing set to Baryshnikov's interpretive dancing, which was pure class. Unless Trump is going to rise to that level, then forget it.
Doesn't sound like anything I'd enjoy watching, so I'm not watching. You could try that.
Everybody do The TrumpDance!
Those pearls won't clutch themselves.
He had it in his ear before and has even more of a lust for life.
are Village People wearing cod-piece? Trump too? too dark blue to tell!!!
Not too happy about him doing these outdoor rallies. Seems too dangerous. Hopefully, he'll cut back on them. Tommorrow he will POTUS. And Harris wont be. Thank God.
In the Navy is a nice song. Like a lot of post 1970 pop songs, it should've stopped after 2.5 minutes.
WTH is wrong with you?
It looks like he's having fun. When was the last time you saw a president just have fun. Even with a really bad dance move.
The Village People - that sends a message! If making America great again means going back to the 1970s, rather than the 1950s or 1850s, Trump may win me over yet.
Left Bank, real question: what changes - if any - would "make America great again" in your opinion? I recognize that there may be no "again" about it for you; you may be one who believes America has never been great. But... I guess two things about that, if you are one such. First, has any nation ever risen to the standard of greatness that you hold? And second, is it possible, much less reasonable, to expect that any nation will meet that standard?
If, on the other hand, you do have one or several past characteristics of the US that, if we returned to them, would make us "great again" (and this assumes that the US being "great again," rather than just being one in a global collective of great nations, for instance, is a goal worth striving for), I am truly interested in hearing what they are.
Maybe I'm oversimplifying in my own right, but it seems to me that the left very often sloganeers for itself ("In this house..."), but declares sloganeering on the right (like "Make America Great Again") to be oversimplified and silly, if not actively malevolent and full of dog whistles and all. This blog seems to me to be a place where, if we choose, we can try to go further. Will you help me understand your vision of what America can be?
It was inside
"Even with a really bad dance move" Excuse me? FYI, there hasn't been a dance move as hot as The Trump Dance since The Macarena hit the floor.

“ Trump employs thousands of people in his hospitality empire. House keepers, janitors, doormen, valets and grass cutters. Real people.”
And they like him and his family. Or at least his older two boys. A bunch of his employees here at his hotel in LV first met the two boys when they went to a company picnic. Two guys, in wife beater tops and cargo shorts were doing the grilling. Yeh. Those two. By the end of the picnic, they had met most everyone. Eric is the more active on in the management of the hotel, and he knows many of the employees by name. One of the security guys (a Democrat) talked to their dad one time, and with his name, Trump knew that he was Irish. Every time he has seen him since, Trump has recognized him, often talking about his being Irish, etc. He loves the Irish, etc.
I agree. I grew up as a blue collar kid in New Jersey about ten miles away from Manhattan. If you go back and listen to old clips of Trump from the 70s and 80s, he often would speak about America in serious terms, but in ways that resonated with a lot of blue collar folks. He would do it during interviews or off the cuff when he didn't have to. I really do believe that he loves this country deeply in a way that a lot of "sophisticated" people simply don't understand, and he has done so for a very long time.
