Just a little while ago, Trump was "harboring" grievances. Now Biden is "harboring" regrets. But Joe isn't talking about them publicly. Does he regret what he did, or does he regret how things played out? Maybe what he's feeling are grievances, rather than any kind of remorse or contrition. Until Biden actually says that he wishes he had done things differently maybe people shouldn't speculate about what's going on in his head or heart.
IIRC correctly, George W. Bush got in trouble for saying that he couldn't think of anything he would have done differently during his term in office. He deserved that trouble and the abuse that went with it, but have other departing presidents been asked the question? What did they answer? Maybe that defensiveness and refusal to admit mistakes is part of what drives politicians and helps them rise up the ladder.
Do we know this was the 'reflective' Biden? Wasn't it likely one of his staff stating things in his name as they've done for the past 4 years?

What I remember was they blamed Trump claiming he'd tied Joe's hands.
Biden is incapable of acknowledging his "mistakes". It was once simply his pompous narcissism, his lack of self-knowledge, and constant need for self-promotion, now further compounded by his obvious dementia. Media is speaking to Biden's few remaining loyal staff members, who craft supposed thoughts of "Big Guy" transcribed on staff press releases for media to promote. Biden now acts on simple impulse, without filter, and can't formulate a coherent sentence - that's why media is prohibited from direct casual contact with him.
Listened to Tucker Carlson's recent interview of Teamster union-chief, who noted neither Biden nor Harris were able to articulate responses to prepared questions provided to them two weeks before scheduled meetings. He also noted that Biden was unable to mask his dementia, and that Harris was unable to mask her arrogance and hubris.

Much of the goodwill Biden has enjoyed from the left is obviously because he prevented Trump's reelection in 2020. But it turns out he merely delayed Trump's reelection for four years -- and the dems seems a lot worse off for it, because now Trump is stronger, is more well-liked, and has Biden's disastrous term to point to in making the case for how bad the dems' policies really are for America. In light of what's happened, dems should hate Biden almost as much as republicans do.

A recent report said Biden would only talk to cabinet members after they submitted topics of discussions and any questions, in writing days before any meeting. For over 1 year - October 2023 to October 2024 - biden had ZERO full cabinet meetings. By comparison, FDR had 1 cabinet meeting a week.
Biden didn't have the guts to fight for his re-election. Pelosi and the "establishment" told him to go, and he went. Had he fought, he would've been nominated. Gutless and a heartless authoritarian.
The glimpse he offers is that all he can muster at this point are delusions of mediocrity.

From a purely objective perspective about what "Bidenomics" has done to the American people, Joe Biden wouldn't want his name attached to it. The fact that he grouses about it is proof that the old boy might still have as many as four brain cells actually working.

It must really cheese Biden off that he can't talk about how wealthy he really is, since he never had a job that wasn't either on a government paycheck, or based on his power in the government in his life. Since Trump earned his money honestly, he can talk about it all he wants.
