“Donald Trump suggested in a news conference Thursday that he is open to curbing access to abortion pills through federal regulations, declining to rule out a sweeping move that some antiabortion allies have advocated.”

Trump suggests he’s open to revoking access to abortion pill. The former president has previously praised a Supreme Court ruling that maintained access to the key abortion drug mifepristone.

Just as was mentioned in an earlier blog post today in which Althouse asks if Trump should be trusted to not sign a national abortion ban. I said he shouldn’t be. So here we see what he would be willing to do. What made him change his mind? Or is he willing to flip flop on his previous stance for political purposes? Or did he even know what he was answering or speaking of? No he certainly cannot be trusted.

“A reporter noted that there are ways the federal government could restrict abortion besides a national ban and asked if Trump would direct his Food and Drug Administration to “revoke access” to mifepristone. Trump did not reject the idea.
“Sure, you could, you could do things that will be, would, would supplement,” the GOP presidential nominee said. “Absolutely. ... But you have to be able to have a vote, and all I want to do is give everybody a vote.” (Trump has defended his appointments of Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade by saying that the decision allowed states and voters to weigh in on the issue.)

What does he even mean about “giving everybody a vote” a national referendum? There is no provision in the Constitution for a national referendum.

LOl. He didn't "suggest" anything. Here is thetypical BS story from the link.

"Donald Trump suggested in a news conference Thursday that he is open to curbing access to abortion pills through federal regulations, declining to rule out a sweeping move that some antiabortion allies have advocated.
Cut through the 2024 election noise. Get The Campaign Moment newsletter.

"Trump has previously praised a Supreme Court ruling that maintained access to the key abortion drug mifepristone, saying, “I agree with their decision to have done that, and I will not block it.” But the GOP presidential nominee muddled his position at Thursday’s news conference at his Mar-a-Lago Club.

Pretty sure there are some here who are "familiar with his thinking" and will explain

Who thought this was a good idea? He looks terrible. How do we get Trump to hold a press conference every day between now and November?

State Legislatures regulate abortion: every state elects its legislature through a vote of its electorate. This isn't rocket science.

The UK Independent! Another lefty paper! Gee, who could have seen that coming? Besides everyone I mean.

Next up for LLR-democratical Rich: The "objective" Media Matters crew weighs in on Trump press conference!

LOL

Thanks Rich! We all needed a good laugh before turning in for the evening and you never disappoint!

For a guy that is railing against inflation, Trump sure does have a lot of inflationary policy proposals, including:

Tariffs,
Lowering interest rates,
Cutting taxes without offsetting spending cuts,
Cutting immigration,
And now, diverting oil to the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

It's almost as if he doesn't understand how any of this works.

1) illegal immigration
2) Within a pro domestic oil regulatory landscape.
But you knew that.
Rich, how is your high density migrant containment project going? Screaming waking you up? Ask Inga for earplug recommendations.

Rich - you are such a predictable mouthpiece.

Reality:
During Trump - we had record low unemployment and no inflation.
He lowered taxes for all - yet increased money to the treasury.
Trump spent too much - what makes you leftists happy - but we still enjoyed a strong economy. Chi Com D- change-the-vote COVID, changed all that.

Democrats want Venezuelan Socialism ... and dumbed down poorly educated emotional population.... and you are succeeding. Be proud- Rich.

Seriously, thanks. I appreciate your willingness to entertain us all though I have to say, whoever sent you here as part of Reid Hoffman's crew or the Soros crew or whoever, its clear you really arent ready for primetime.

Were you assigned to facebook or instagram or equivalent originally? Seems as though it would have to be since the Althouse blog commenters you are attempting to gaslight are all much smarter, more experienced and much more knowledgeable than you. Hence your lack of success here.

Rich, thanks for reminding us that he actually did all those things you list last time and in fact kept inflation down. But I guess you forgot, eh?

Thanks for outright admitting that the effect of massive and unfettered immigration is to suppress wages, and that that is part of the actual purpose.

Remember the Pakistani guy just arrested for a ‘plot to assassinate Donald Trump’ we were told earlier this week? Well the FBI gave him special permission to enter the country, even though he was on a terrorist watch list. x.com/jsolomonreport…

Woke up with a thought about Walz (yeah, i know, not that kind of thought):

Maybe his Communist China travel and his sudden retirement are related.

I am pretty sure a battalion command sergeant major has to have a top-secret security clearance, especially in field artillery where he will be attending briefings and looking at maps about the fire plan at echelons above division.

(One of the great things about artillerymen as opposed to grunts is they have a sense of the ‘big picture’ way earlier in their careers. And I say this as a former grunt.)

For example, the Texas Guard website says applicants for CSM must have. Secret clearance and be eligible for TS:

https://tmd.texas.gov/Data/Sites/1/media/g1/2018/nov-18/csm-advertisement.pdf

Secret is basically a criminal records check. Not too difficult. TS, though, starts digging into your whole life. You fill out a Standard Form 86, in which one of the many questions asks about your foreign travel. And the government already knows the answers.

Maybe Walz realized that someone would start asking about his many China trips, and the upcoming deployment on a real life antiterror mission would speed up the clearance process, so he could no longer hope to just lurk in the peacetime process until he could retire at the higher grade.

Also having DOD investigators running around his old neighborhoods and employers asking questions, just as he was running for office, might be inconvenient. “Principal, did anyone ever make any complaints against Coach Walz? And remember, lying to me is a crime….”

Just something that came to me.

I was subjected to it on the televisions at the gym yesterday while working out.I had to google "ribbons, hoops, dancing" to figure out just what the hell I had been looking at. Good Lord. It looks very skilled, but why?

These days, I don't know whether to trust the Feds or Big Business. But considering the pipeline has been there for a long, long time and knowing the Forest Service is under the thrall of whoever is running the Executive Branch, I'm leaning towards Arrowhead, with reservations.

Inga and Rich are obviously working for the Kamala-lala-ding-dong campaign. The first question is whether they are being paid. The next question is who is dumber? Inga, Rich, Tampon Tim or Kamala-lala-ding-dong? That's a tough one.

The easier the access to miseprifestone— say, through the mail— the more difficult it is to ensure that it is the mother who obtained it. This is a wide open invitation for exploitation, for other family members, sexual partners etc, to force a woman to take it or even to administer it unawares.
But Dems are all about the abortion. The more the better! We’re at around a million a year, every year, Inga. That’s a million human beings with potential. That’s a genocide.
Does anyone remember that the Pill was sold to us as a way to ensure there would be no unwanted babies?
It was a lie, as has been every incremental step in this ghoulish campaign to recast killing and dismemberment as “health care”.
Democrats used to champion the rights of the most vulnerable. That was a lie, too.

iPhones adjust to the light so having the sun's brightness increasing means the rest of the frame will darken relative to the sun. Of course the human eye does it differently and we tend to see subtle changes, less dramatic than the photos.
