"Joe and that other guy are essentially the same age. Let’s not be fooled. But what this election is about..."

"... it’s about the character of the person leading our country. Joe Biden is a healthy, wise 81-year-old ready and willing to work for you every day to make our future better. Joe isn’t one of the most effective presidents of our lives in spite of his age, but because of it."

Said Jill Biden, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, quoted in "Jill Biden pitches the benefits of age on the campaign trail" (CNN).

"The woman I am today is wiser, stronger, more insightful and more confident than I was all those years ago. Every line on my face has been earned by the furrowed brows of difficult decisions made. By the sun of countless roads traveled, by the sweet strain of deep laughter with the people I love. Age is a gift.”"

That made me want to ask ChatGPT, "Write a short speech about why it's good for a candidate to be quite elderly." Here's the answer I got, written out, in less than 5 seconds:
Today, I stand before you to challenge a common misconception in our society: the notion that age is an impediment to leadership. On the contrary, I firmly believe that age, particularly the wisdom and experience that come with it, can be a tremendous asset in leadership roles.

Consider for a moment the qualities that often accompany age: wisdom, patience, and a wealth of life experiences. These are not merely attributes; they are invaluable tools that can guide decision-making with a depth and foresight that is often unmatched. A candidate who has lived through decades of change and challenges brings with them a perspective that is shaped by history and tempered by time.

Furthermore, older candidates have often honed their skills over years of service and dedication to their communities or professions. They have weathered storms, navigated complex landscapes, and forged enduring relationships. Their experience provides a steadying influence, offering stability and reassurance in times of uncertainty.

In addition, an older candidate can be a unifying force, bridging generational divides and fostering inter-generational understanding. They can bring together diverse perspectives, drawing on a lifetime of learning and adapting to connect with people from all walks of life.

Let us also not forget the resilience and determination that often define those who have lived a long and fruitful life. These are qualities born of overcoming adversity and embracing change—a testament to the strength of character that is forged through years of perseverance.

So, when you consider a candidate who may be quite elderly, do not see their age as a limitation. Instead, recognize it as a badge of honor—a testament to a life well-lived and a wealth of knowledge waiting to be shared for the betterment of our community, our nation, and our world.

I requested a tweak: "Now put the speech in the voice of a proud older and still beautiful woman." Here's the rewrite:

Today, I stand before you with a message that comes from a heart shaped by the passage of time and the embrace of life's many lessons. It is often said that age brings wisdom, and I am here to tell you that this wisdom is not just a saying—it is a truth that has been woven into the fabric of my very being.

You see, as someone who has lived through decades of change, challenges, and triumphs, I have come to understand the true value of experience. Each wrinkle, each laugh line, they tell a story of resilience and growth. They speak of a journey filled with ups and downs, but one that has ultimately led me here, standing before you today.

Age has gifted me with a perspective that is shaped by history and enriched by the people I have met along the way. It has taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of listening. These are not just qualities I possess; they are tools that I bring to the table—a table where decisions are made, futures are shaped, and communities are strengthened.

But age is not just about looking back; it is also about looking forward with hope and determination. It is about using my voice and my experiences to advocate for positive change, to build bridges between generations, and to foster understanding and unity.

So, when you consider a candidate who may be a bit older, see beyond the wrinkles and the gray hair. See the depth of knowledge and the richness of experience that they bring. See the resilience and the strength that have carried them through a lifetime of challenges.

I am proud to stand here today as a testament to the fact that age is not a barrier—it is a gift. A gift that allows me to contribute with wisdom, to lead with compassion, and to inspire with hope.

Thank you, my friends, for listening and for believing in the power of age and experience. Together, we can embrace a future where every voice is heard and every life is valued.

I can't believe you read all that, but if you did, I hope it inures you to the banalities that will be shoveled your way in the next 5 months.

AND: I couldn't resist asking for another version. I said, "Now put that speech in the voice of a very blunt and rough man who thinks he's funny." The response:

Alright folks, listen up!

Today, I'm here to talk about something that some people might shy away from: age. Yeah, that's right, we're diving into the deep end of the wisdom pool here.

You see, us older folks—we've been around the block a few times. We've seen things, done things, and learned a thing or two along the way. Sure, we might have a few extra lines on our faces and a bit more salt than pepper in our hair, but let me tell ya, that comes with some perks.

First off, we've got experience. And no, I'm not just talking about knowing where the best early bird specials are (though that's a bonus). I'm talking about real-life experience—making tough decisions, dealing with setbacks, and coming out stronger on the other side.

Secondly, we've got stories. Oh boy, do we have stories! Ask any grandpa or grandma, and they'll tell you tales that'll make you laugh, cry, and maybe even cringe a bit. But hey, it's all part of the journey, right?

And let's not forget about perspective. When you've been around as long as some of us have, you start to see the bigger picture. You learn to appreciate what really matters and not sweat the small stuff. Plus, we're not afraid to call it like it is—no sugar-coating, just straight talk.

So, when you're thinking about who's gonna lead the charge, don't discount us older folks. We may not move as fast as we used to, but we've got the wisdom, the stories, and the perspective to get things done.

So here's to embracing age, wrinkles and all. Because hey, life's too short to worry about a few gray hairs, am I right?

Thanks for listening, and remember, vote for experience—it's got a heck of a track record!

It's funny how they keep claiming his "effectiveness" and "success" as president, but they never seem to list any specific things he has done, probably because the stuff they are lauding him for having done are popular with those who actually are running the country, but if you put each of them up for a referendum, they would overwhelmingly lose, like re-engineering the voter base by refusing to enforce immigration laws that were duly passed by Congress. Or effectively issuing the death warrant for gasoline powered cars.

Let's see what South Park's Eric Cartman has to say (via ChatGPT) about aged candidates:

"Ahem, ahem. Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round, for I, Eric Cartman, have somethin' important to say about why it's totally awesome for a candidate to be, you know, really, really old.

First of all, old people have seen some serious stuff, m'kay? They've been around forever, like dinosaurs, and they know all the secrets of the universe and junk. They've lived through wars, depressions, and like, all the boring history lessons we had to sit through in school. That means they have tons of experience and wisdom.

Secondly, old candidates are like, super calm. You know why? 'Cause they're too tired to get all worked up and make rash decisions. They're not gonna go on Twitter rants at 3 AM like some people, because, let's be honest, they probably don't even know how to use Twitter. And that's a good thing, m'kay?

Thirdly, think about the respect factor. Old people automatically command respect. You ever try arguing with your grandpa? It's impossible! They have that "I've seen things you can't even imagine" look in their eyes, and you just have to listen. That kind of respect is crucial for a leader.

And finally, the best part: they probably won't be around to mess things up for too long! I mean, let's face it, they're not gonna be in office for like, decades. They'll set things up, pass some good laws, and then, you know, retire or whatever. It's a win-win, really.

So, in conclusion, having an elderly candidate is totally awesome because they're wise, calm, respected, and won't be around to mess things up for too long. Vote for the old guy! Respect my authority!

Thank you, thank you. Now, where's my cheesy poofs?

One thing that this election has provided, is a short stay of execution on the nuclear war thing. You can see it in Joe backtracking on stuff right now because, in Obama's famous words when he was colluding with Putin and got caught on a hot mic "I will have more flexibility after the election."

As time passes, my respect for Obama has grown, I think that he was as undermined by the deep state as Trump, though they were afraid to go after him personally. He wrote an executive order forbidding what the CIA did in Syria, and it was simply ignored by Hillary, and then John Kerry, and he was against fomenting a war in Ukraine, where he also famously said that such a war would be existential for Russia, and there was no compelling interest of the US for a war there, therefore Russia would always escalate further than the US would be willing to go. Of course, his Vice President, Biden, was really running things, remember that Obama was the lazy Harvard Law Review editor who was always "working from home" and seldom did much work. But his heart was in the right place, he just wasn't ready for the job, and maybe never would be.

Maybe you are right narciso:

(MintPress) — President Barack Obama signed a “secret order” Thursday authorizing the CIA to provide material and intelligence assistance to Syrian rebels attempting the overthrow of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime. The 17-month civil war that has killed an estimated 20,000 has grown increasingly violent in recent weeks because of a strong rebel front in Aleppo, Damascus and other Syrian cities. A rash of defections in the Assad government has shown the fallibility of the regime, struggling to maintain control of the increasingly divided country.

Other countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have all pledged financial and material assistance to fighters, many of whom are non-Syrian fighters. The inflow of arms and financial support for the Syrian opposition could prove to be problematic given the large number of foreign fighters, many of whom are fighting as members of al-Qaida, Salafi and radical Jihadi organizations.

Crtl-F "ISIS" returns 0, BTW. We armed ISIS, but simply refuse to admit that we did. An American helicopter ferrying US troops was shot down in Afghanistan by a missile signed out to the CIA for the Syrian "rebels," fortunately the chopper was able to execute a hard landing and nobody was killed, or this might have actually broken through to the media, rather than appearing in a book a few years later.

It seems like were are playing the exact role in Syria that Putin is playing in Ukraine, and Putin is playing the exact role in Ukraine that we are in Syria, with the one major difference that Syria is thousands of miles from our capital city. The "rules-based-order" is that the US is gonna do whatever it wants, that's the rule.

It is not just age. There is also a generational aspect. After 4 Baby Boomer Presidents (arguably: Trump was born in 1946) we have a Silent Generation President for the first time, following the Greatest Generation folks. This seems important. Biden was educated pre-systems thinking. Pre-ecology, Club of Rome, Rachel Carson, interrelationships, multi-causalities. He seems to be a linear thinker, incapable of understanding that A does not lead to B because other factors are involved. Trump understands complexities so much better, if only because his actions in business lead directly to consequences. Biden has never been a complex thinker, even when he had a working brain.

You used to have to follow a story of how the guy was building a coalition and that meant learning what was important across this vast land. It was educational, sort of. But now we all realize that we are being presented with manufactured, predigested, bits that have been assembled, then disassembled and are being sent out in pieces for us to reassemble giving us the experience of learning what other people think through following an election. Like visiting Old Sturbridge Village to have the early New England experience. America should write the rules. America should call the shots. Other countries should play by the rules that America and our partners set, and not the other way around. That’s what the TPP gives us the power to do… The United States, not countries like China, should write them.

The AI speeches were kind of bland and banal, but none of them had any cringe worthy lines. AI is apparently incapable of writing a line like "the sweet strain of laughter with people I love". Well, maybe you can direct AI to write that badly, but it has to be ordered to do so.....AI is early in its development, and it's already pretty good. It won't be long before AI will be like the lark at break of day arising from sullen earth and writing speeches worthy of delivery at heaven's gate. I don't know if this is worrisome or hopeful....I won't be around to see its full development, but it would be cool to see some Fast Five movies with Shakespearean dialogue between the action scenes. Also maybe they can create a woman with some of Audrey Hepburn's piquancy and Marilyn Monroe's sexual magnetism. I admire Sydney Sweeney's bust line but her face needs a little more animation. I'm sure this can be fixed with AI.....The computer replaced a lot of jobs that involved routine tasks. It's now moving into the higher realms of cognition and even physical beauty. I wonder if some of the resistance comes from smart people acting like Luddites in the presence of a technology that threatens their livelihoods.

"Every line on my face has been earned by the furrowed brows of difficult decisions made."

Throughout his career, Biden has treated every decision like a choice between chocolate chip and butter pecan -- which course best suits my whim or my ever-growing stash in Grand Cayman. If neither, then fuck it. Though he has been ostensibly a public servant for 53 years, not once has he demonstrated the quality of virtuous leadership, in short, the resolve to inflict pain, sorrow, or lost on oneself rather than the People, the choice of Agamemnon at Aulis.

Biden had the perfect opportunity to dissipate the evident truth of his character, that he is and always has been a plunderer of the public weal. Instead of banishing "Major" and "Commander" to some obscure puppy farm, if after the first blooding of an SS member, Biden had dragged the worthless mutt onto the South Lawn and blown its brains out... then he would at least have demonstrated some munificent virility.

Here, is an ACTUAL SPEECH, from an ACTUAL OLD GUY...
“We can’t bust heads like we used to—but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don’t go anywhere..
Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so I decided to go to Morganville which is what they called Shelbyville in those days.
So, I tied an onion to my belt which was the style at the time.
Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel. And in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ‘em. ‘Give me five bees for a quarter,’ you’d say.
Now, where were we?
Oh, yeah! The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt which was the style at the time.
They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.”

back in German I (and German II) class in highschool, we learned about the German government.
As i recall they had a Prime Minister thingie, that they called a Chancellor..Who ran things..
They ALSO had a President, that was TECHNICALLY in charge of the country; but in reality a figurehead.
The President (according to our Lehrer Herr Taylor) was "non political", and for funerals and such.

At the time.. I was STUPEFIED, that a country's President wouldn't be running the country.
NOW it seems that is WHERE we are at.. EXCEPT for the "non political" part.

If Dr. Jillie Biden (the cokesniffing cocktail waitress /slash/ babysitter /slash/ nurse had a brain,
THIS is what Jillie's husband would have been (with Nancy in the foreground and O'Bama in the back)
IF Biden had just acted non political (while everything else remained the same)..
he'd be skating to reelection.. And no one would mind that "Old Uncle Joe" had bats in his belfry

Instead.. They (SHE) made Biden the symbol of the party.. Instead of the figurehead of the country

I worry about that. I saw a pretty good piece about the UK troubles in which the Tories voters have gotten tired of being lied to. Much the same happened with the Republican "trickle" in 2022. The Trump base is most of the Republican voters who have been lied to too many times.

Joe and that other guy are also known as the president and the former president. Aging and chronology are not the same thing, so let's not be fooled into thinking that they are. If the election were about character, neither Trump nor Biden would win. But she did say something I agree with: Joe isn't one of the most effective presidents. He's not top tier.

The Tories, elected in astonishing record numbers in 2019 including in the traditional Labour strongholds of the Northern industrial/working class areas (Similar to Trump areas now) then spent the next 5 years going Full Paul Ryan/Mitch McConnell mode and betrayed their voters ON EVERY SINGLE ISSUE!

The "Remain" Tories in leadership sabotaged Brexit, they allowed tremendously higher illegal immigration, they screwed over the working class, they catered completely and entirely to the globalist insiders and on and on and on...

Those Tories were just Labour types play acting as "conservatives".

Sound familiar?

Rishi Sunak announced months ago that all he really wanted to do was head over to silicon valley and run an investment fund!

Can you imagine the impact of all that betrayal on the british voters that have to live with the increased violence/crime from unrestricted immigration, schools being jammed with violent islamic supremacists with younger children being beaten frequently, housing prices thru the roof (just like Canada), overcrowded health services with year long waits to see a GP even for serious conditions, etc.

So, having seen enough, Nigel Farage was compelled to come out of retirement and reinvigorate the Reform UK party which IMMEDIATELY overtook the conservative party in the polls!

As we sit here today, Reform UK leads the Conservatives.

Those claiming this hands the ele tion to Labour are lying losers. Labour was already going to win in a landslide so a bigger landslide in a parliamentary system makes little difference for governance, but a Reform UK likely second place finish sends a political shock wave across the nation and just might send the longest existing political party in the world (the Conservatives) into the dustbin of history.

Interestingly, conservative MP and cabinet member Suella Braverman wanted to bring Reform UK into alliance with the Conservatives (similar to France between Le Pen's NR and the center-right LR)...and the GOPe-like conservative "leadership" kicked Braverman right out of the government!

And with that, the "conservatives" fate was sealed.

This is also the fate of the republican party in the US if it doesnt take active measures to ensure a post-Trump party represents this vast new and incredibly diverse realigned set of voter groups that currently only support Trump, not the GOP.

there are parallels to the Progressive Conservatives, that were in the majority under Mahoney and then collapsed in the early 90s, and Reform took the baton, after a drubbing the first time with Stockwell Day, then Harper steered the country for a time, and for some inexplicable reasons, they handed it back to the PC's who scuppered it,

This isn't quite what happened. Nigel was quite ready to sit the election out and focus on Trump. But with Rishi sabotaging the Tory campaign with the kind of focus you only see in success, Farage hopped back aboard Reform and went for it.

Anyways, if you want to know what will happen next, look at Canadian history between 1993 and 2010. Yeah, it's boring, but educational.
