I have changed my mind on the apartheid thing. Israel should embrace the label, but clarify that it practices cultural apartheid to protect itself against people who support a death cult. Given that a substantial percentage of Israeli citizens are Muslim Arabs, nobody can reasonably claim that Israel practices racial or religious apartheid. The residents of Gaza have demonstrated that they want to brutalize and kill Israelis. They are either active Hamas members or active or passive supporters. As such, they have forfeited their claim to rights that followers of normal cultures enjoy.

I'm glad the hostages were rescued. Hopefully the IDF can finish the job soon in Gaza by destroying Hamas, and finding and rescuing any other hostages that are living, as well as retrieving the bodies of the dead. As far as the Palestinian casualties go, it's sad that they brought this situation upon themselves. They could end it at any time by surrendering and turning over all of the hostages. Or they can continue to die for nothing. Their choice, not ours.

My experience with this is that Iraqi's and Afghani's didn't trust us and knew that eventually we would betray them.

When we were in Iraq/Afghanistan we were angry they didn't help us more.

They have to be. They can’t withdraw to a place an ocean away. Over the years I’m sure they’ve resettled informants to Israel proper. Israelis have vowed to destroy Hamas - not for the benefit of Gaza residents (although that will be a secondary benefit) but for their own continued existence. Over the past month IDF strikes have become more surgical. Maybe because they have imbedded better listening devices but maybe because there are informants. It’s to Israel’s direct benefit to provide safe passage for those informants. Israelis are also providing more accurate body counts which means their control over territory is better.
Also the fact that Iran is encouraging US protests means that they think their grasp over the Gaza population is tenuous.
BTW, I don’t believe 10,000 dead babies. Exactly what are the logistics that could make that true? Has Hamas herded 10,000 babies into a small space to be an easy target for Israeli strikes?
If you look at the Iranian Revolution, the Iranians say the previous government killed approx 60,000 people. The actual estimate is between 500 and 3,000.
As they were imprisoned in "civilian homes" in a "civilian neighborhood" I don't see any "innocent" deaths attached to the operation.
