The justification for requiring the "vaccine" was that there were no other treatments available.
The data from India was unmistakable AT THE TIME.
There was ample evidence at the time that Ivermectin worked for COVID. Massive populations and clear medical benefit. Fewer deaths, shorter sickness duration. There were regions in India that gave Ivermectin to everyone and regions that didn't side by side. Ivermectin save millions of lives.
This was known AT THE TIME.

Now, I for one, would not put assured trust in statistics gathered in India. All statistical data have limited shelflives, consequently canvassing a billion people with health questions is forensically challenging, to say the least. Nevertheless, the reported COVID-related deaths in India were proportionally fewer than in the Fauci-enlighted United States. At the same time, a British nurse holding a doctorate in the field started a YouTube channel devoted to COVID measures practiced outside the EU that enjoyed some degree of efficacy even though condemned as heresy by the WHO priesthood. YouTube banned him for misinformation regarding ivermectin. Now we have the Chief Accolite admitting to unorthodoxy. How shocking. Either the priesthood must be defrocked, or Chris Cuomo is a horse.

There were about twenty studies at the time from around the world that showed Ivermectin's effectiveness against Covid. Some of them small, a couple of them large, mostly with good technique. I saved the abstracts, and some of the study reports themselves. There was no question it was effective in early treatment. These studies of course were not publicized.
On the other side were a couple large studies that the powers-that-be and their MSM parrots constantly quoted. I read these studies - one from Canada and one from South America, IIRC. The subjects of them were hospitalized patients most of whom, obviously, were already trying to die from Covid (with many succeeding). They told us nothing about the effectiveness of Ivermectin in early Covid treatment or as prophylaxis yet they were used to snuff the idea of Ivermectin as useful in Covid.
I discussed this at the time with some of my medical colleagues who were still in practice. They understood that Ivermectin was good. But they couldn't prescribe it for their at-risk patients (pretty much limited to old, sick, fat people) because it had been made unequivocally clear to physicians that their licenses were at stake.
There needs to be a level of trust between doctor and physician. Going along with a political campaign at the expense of your patients is not a way to earn trust…
The AMA is one of those organizations once a reliable authority, now hollowed out with lefties running it for the benefit of Democrats…

I've had COVID twice (that I know of). The last time, I asked my doctor about taking Ivermectin. She said it was a good idea but she would not prescribe it for me because of the FDA's guidance. She'd take it if she had COVID and would give it to her family, but she could not assist her patients in obtaining it.
Jack ass is calling the doctors scared. As noted above, the NHS, FDA, and CDC gave the advice, and various other entities went so far as to threaten to disqualify the licenses of doctors that proscribed Ivermectin.

The medical practice my son goes t6in The Free State of Florida prescribed ivermectin to their patients during the covidiocy. None of their patients died. Prescriptions were filled by an independent compounding pharmacy since all the chains buckled under to government pressure. In the dictatorship of NY under Emperor Hochul we obtained ours from a mail order overseas pharmacy and had it ready for when we finally contracted the dreaded covid. Long after all our vaxxed and double or triple vaxxed acquaintances had it once or more.
Statistically, it worked. We lived so we added to the successful numbers. Unofficially since there's no official record we treated ourselves.
Every US study on any treatment other than the officially approved ones was designed to show nothing worked, it was useless to try. I'm particularly critical of the VA one where they administered one megadose of Vitamin D to patients already in the ICU and announced Vitamin D was worthless. Sort of like saying the barn door doesn't work because the cows are already out...
No one will be held to account for their deliberate lies by the legal establishment- because they were part of it.

Been in and around public health/epidemiology most of my adult life. When the Covids first hit, I really was thinking something like "Okay, my profession can finally use its accumulated wisdom".
Probably should have known better, having also been in and around universities the whole time. I tend to think (and I saw a little bit of research on this) that the rank and file didn't agree with much or most of what was being promulgated, but most just went along because they were young enough to have their careers ruined by rocking the boat.
I don't think very many learned their lesson from this; most of what I read from the university crowd is that they all think they did a wonderful job and, if anything, they weren't authoritarian enough.

That's imprecise. The India studies showed ivermectin helping with Covid, but studies in Europe and the United States did not. One suggested difference: ivermectin fights parasites. India has more problems with parasites. Parasites complicate Covid. So the India studies show ivermectin helping with Covid because of parasite fighting quality, which reduced Covid complications. Thus ivermectin helps if you have parasites and Covid, but not if you only have Covid.

Not any more there isn't. My doctor prescribed one course but then the democrat big pharma agents got to him. Went online and got plenty but the pharmacies started to give me crap. Found a compounding pharmacy.
Took it for quite a while. Went to nightclubs, bars, groceries everywhere. Never got covid. Sure circumstantial but.... No reason not to take ivermectin, safter than ibuprofen.

Studies out of India have far more weight than the studies out of the West that came from institutions that were caught lying about everything.
Just remember that in 2020 we found the cure for pneumonia! Nobody died of pneumonia in 2020 according to the CDC. But it stopped working in 2021 for some reason.
Finding cures for things is tough.
There's not good evidence ivermectin works, but its safer than hydroxychloroquine and off-label use of drugs is VERY common with widely varying levels of evidence. Fluoxetine & NAC were also used for Covid, but those didn't get politicized. Corticosteroids were only proven to help in very specific severe situations in hospitalized patients,not for outpatient use. Paxlovid was only proven in high risk, unvaccinated patients, but anyone can get it with no more than an online survey. Yep, for Covid, that now counts a valid doctor/patient relationship
Also, if you want to call ivermectin a horse dewormer then every article about puberty blockers should instead refer to their use as chemical castration.

As long as doctors follow the Standard of Care they are more or less immune to lawsuits.
