"Across most of the battleground states, President Biden’s re-election campaign is trailed by worrisome polling, gripes about a slow ramp-up..."

"... and Democratic calls to show more urgency to the threat posed by former President Donald J. Trump. Then there is Wisconsin. Mr. Biden — who was set to travel to Milwaukee on Wednesday to visit his state campaign headquarters — did not have to rev up a re-election apparatus in Wisconsin. Local Democrats never shut down a vaunted organizing network they built for the 2020 presidential campaign and maintained through the 2022 midterm elections and a 2023 State Supreme Court contest...."

I'm reading "Trailing Trump in Polls, Biden Can Be More Bullish in One Battleground/The president faces lagging energy in many key states. But in Wisconsin, which he will visit on Wednesday, rolling clashes over abortion rights and democracy have kept Democratic voters fired up" (NYT).

Another visit by Biden to the campaign headquarters in Milwaukee. When does he interface with the people?

There's a clip that has surfaced from 2021 (?) with Myorkas being asked about all of the immigration policies that Biden was going to eradicate with the stroke of his pen and did so - some 94?
the left were filled with glee over the opening of our border and the destruction of a once great nation. of course - now they just lie and say it isn't happening.

With a stoke of the pen - Biden opened the border.

WTF does that even mean? The only clash over democracy in Wisconsin is that liberals in Madison and Dane County want to control the entire state. They're actually pissed Waukesha and Washington Counties are allowed to vote... The last thing Madison in interested in is "democracy"...just look back at the post Scott Walker election temper tantrums.

Wisconsin has its charm. And plenty of alcohol consumption.

When it comes to bat shit crazy liberals, Wisconsin's are at the top of the list. Must be the high BMI and bad haircuts.

Slow ramp up. Both of these geezers have their nominations sewed up months before their respective conventions. And the election is still over seven months away. Trust me, neither of these old men can keep it up that long.

The conventions are purposely timed so that the nominee peaks and hardens their support only a month or two before the polls. Any earlier than that, the nominee wilts and people get sick and tired of them.

Never, Democrats are only interested in elites interfacing with elites. The common person is not cool enough to talk to the chosen. A Democrat is more worried about going to events where others are excluded, the motivator is keeping the others out, while knowing that the others want in. Like Hollywood.

Democrats don’t experience good will or kindness, just the thrill of overlordship.

It is the campaign headquarters that generates the vote, why meet with people? It is not like Democrats care anymore how a President is installed. Biden also met with Fani Willis and Nathan Wade prior to Trump's indictment. Convict Trump in Georgia and keep Wisconsin blue, and then Biden just needs to keep Pennsylvania to top 270. Pennsylvania is much closer to Biden's home in Wilmington. Who needs people (besides those coming across the border)?

“Lara Trump, who was picked as the RNC’s co-chair last week, has suggested that Republican voters would be satisfied with the RNC using its funds to pay her father-in-law’s legal fees” ~ AP

Like watching the Goodfellas take over the restaurant. Trump has failed at every other business venture he’s tried. Not unreasonable to expect more failure here.

The only motivation for his candidacy now is to stay out of jail. He will suck the RNC dry to fund his legal defense. The man only thinks about what’s in it for him.

To be sure, WSJ realized what Trump was a few years ago. This is what they're saying nowadays:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-super-tuesday-gop-primaries-2024-nikki-haley-joe-biden-ea5b805f?st=6b8h34tjwuv7114&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

"And that’s the gamble the GOP is taking by elevating Mr. Trump one more time. Republicans are nominating a candidate the public knows well—and who most Americans say they don’t like. Mr. Trump never reached 50% approval in the Gallup survey across his Presidency. His unfavorable ratings today are exceeded only by Mr. Biden’s—57% to 59% in the recent Fox News survey.

The reason is that Mr. Trump brings his own negative baggage that Democrats will reprise over the next eight months.... Mr. Biden will poke at him like a dancing bear, hoping he’ll act up and remind voters why they ousted him four years ago. His Covid and other first-term outbursts will return in TV ads, as will his disgraceful post-election behavior leading to and including Jan. 6. GOP voters may have come to discount the events of that day, but we’ll find out if that’s true about swing voters in the swing states that have turned against the GOP in the Trump era.

Mr. Trump has been the greatest Democratic turnout machine since FDR, and that includes Barack Obama. Every time voters have gone to the polls since Mr. Trump’s first victory in 2016, Republicans have lost or underperformed: 2018, 2020, 2021 in Georgia Senate races, 2022, and 2023 in special elections."

Well Mikey, yes and no. In my "lived experience", Trump's administration was characterized by energy independence, low inflation, good wages for the middle class, secure borders, nascent peace in areas of the middle East, no new wars, a pause in China's push against the West, and a business climate in which small business thrived. Except for those wine swilling white female liberals and assorted snowflakes clutching their pearls over Trump's "mean tweets", what's not to like?

In contrast, under FJB, we have rampant consumer inflation, unchecked and unvetted illegal aliens swamping open borders, never-ending wars with Iran's proxies in the Middle East (God forfend we should take action directly against Iran), as well as the financial burden of propping up a corrupt government in Ukraine against Russia. Each of the latter actions have contributed directly to the hollowing out our military, which now is being driven to "woke" accomplishments rather than "win" by the administration's hand-picked civilian defense and military leadership. Finally, we have the biggest grift and scam ever, the green nude eel and its eco-fascist dictates prompted and favored by this administration.

If that's the choice, please find me some broken grass to crawl over to vote for Trump.

I think it has something to do with someone wanting to "fundamentally transform America" or some such. Though it did start a lot earlier than that. Progressives are just POSITIVE that they are on the right side of history and will burn everything down and destroy it all to prove it.

There is NO fence currently in place that is there for any good reason and so they all must come down.

---------------

You can 'fundamentally transform' a Ferrari by wrapping it around a telephone pole, but it's hard to argue that's an improvement on its basic function.

You can 'fundamentally transform' a housing complex like Pruitt-Igoe by leveling the thing after it's been basically trashed and abandoned, which will lead to progress in use of the land it was on.

You can 'fundamentally transform' a waterway in California by blasting apart the dams that impede fish flow, at the cost of destroying water supplies that you may need later.

'Fundamental Transformation' - whenever a politician trots that out you'd better grab your wallet and take a long and VERY careful look at what's being proposed - and be real mindful that what's inside the box will not be what's on the cover.
