Customs and Border patrol used to check for such stuff, but we have open borders now.
flight attendants tracked the maggots to a passenger’s bag in the overhead compartments and found a fish wrapped in a newspaper.
“It’s a Sicilian message, ‘Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes.’”
I would hate to be on a flight filled with liberal democrats.

Something is rotten in Amsterdam
Seems like the problem would have been detected by someone's nose long before a maggot shower was necessary for that.
Reminds me of riding the bus from Puebla to Mexico City with the chickens in crates shitting on me from the overhead racks. But the stewardess walked the aisle regularly with a tequila bottle and ice, so it was ok.
Raining maggots - imagine if Egyptair?
did the fish pass through Amsterdam security or was it from duty free?

Maggots on a Plane?
I do NOT think i want to see that movie..
Last time I connected through Amsterdam customs confiscated 2 jars of peanut butter as a liquid.
Well...now I've heard it all. Over the last 10 years we've seen and heard the range of madness from humans and the things that can crawl into planes. But maggots? I had never even considered that happening. I have to fly on Sunday. Am I going to twitch if something drops on my shoulder? Or my head? Do I fight the urge and try to ignore it, even as there are other...pitter....patter on my head. pitter
Should I share this info with my wife?
I suppose I should be ready to make a Detroit joke in this case, but I'll refrain. My old hometown gets enough kicks in the balls. This was clearly a Dutch attempt at making Detroit look bad.
This is why Permanently Banned lists should exist.
No one on the damned flight could smell the rotten fish??

That probably why no one could smell the fish.
Maggots are relatively high in high quality protein and other nutrients.
You cant afford to have food aversions in a survival situation.
Although I must admit that I'm at a loss for an appropriate wine pairing.
Don't mind the maggots.
Don't worry. EU citizens will be eating magots as a healthy dietary staple.
How the heck does that get past security, but a 8oz bottle of shampoo would be confiscated.
Carrion items must be securely stowed.
When I read about maggots and fish, the idea of "Gas Station Sushi" popped into my mind---unaccountably.
Sounds like Dutch pre-flight inspections need work.

I laughed out loud at that! That's punny. Thanks!
This is in addition to the peanuts and cookies. Look for a fare hike.
I'm coming to this super-late, but I just need to say that Paul Zrimsek won the internetz fir at least a week or two. Wow.
