How do you slap tariffs on the Chi-Coms? Just like eating an elephant, one bite at a time. They are not our friends. Unless of course your name is Joe Biden, Tim Cook or other assorted sell-outs.

On this day in 1986 the Shuttle Challenger disintegrated just 73 seconds into its flight due to NASA’s foolish decision to go ahead with the launch despite the temperatures being too cold for the O rings to function properly.

How sad. Our soldiers in Jordan, and throughout the Middle East are at such risk for at least the next year, thanks to Biden's demonstrated weakness and/or corruption. Killed and wounded with weaponry paid for by Iran with the dollars released by Biden and Obama. Knowing that half the White House and State Department young staffers regard them as colonial occupiers. Why would anyone volunteer for the military, knowing that your life means nothing to the Democrats?

to be fair to NASA.. How could they have ever known that there was a problem with the O rings?
I mean.. SURE the manufacturer's engineers TOLD them that there was a problem..
and SURE the O rings had Nearly burnt through SEVERAL times before at (less)cold temps..
and it WAS the COLDEST that they'd EVER tried to launch..

But NASA didn't want to have to place ANOTHER hold on the launch.. NASA wanted to look GOOD!
HOW could they EVER have known that a KNOWN problem would be a problem??
Everything ALWAYS turns out okay.. Just look at Apollo I, or Apollo XIII

Coach Dan Campbell passed on three very short field goals today - two in the first half and the final bad choice late in the fourth quarter, so the Blue Lions lost the game by 3 points.

Corruption is a good word but the MAGAts Cult cannot apply it to their leader who, without question, has been the most corrupt president that we have ever had.

And I see where GOP hawks are screaming for direct attacks inside Iran which will lead to another 20-year war inside an Arab country.

Well, looks like Ilhan Omar is much more deserving of being licked out of congress then George Santos. Since she repudiated both her oath of office and the oath of citizenship as a naturalized citizen.

This news from Ambassador Rhoda J Elmi of Somalialand. Not Somalia, the country Congresscritter Ilhan Omar has sworn her loyalty to, but Somalialand, a breakaway republic from Somalia with a separate government, elections, military, etc, but not recognized formally by any nation. Quick- before just now- how many of you knew there was a breakaway republic from Somalia called Somalialand? I found out today. It's so hard to keep track of countries the days... Somalia, the part that isn't Somalia, was apparently an Italian possession, Somalialand a British possession. With independence for 5 days before merging. Not sure when they broke away again.

We are way beyond all that. The legal system itself, hand-in-glove with leftwing politicos (compare campaign boasts of James and Willis, or prosecutorial visits to the January 6 committee and the White House) is turning the process of balloting and elections into an embarrassing farce."

The Lions coach is an easy mark for the Lions cratering against the 49ers. But the failure to execute by two players were key in their defeat. A fourth down drop of an easy pass by their their receiver and an ill-timed fumble by their running back set the stage. Sure the later decision to go for it instead of attempting a field goal was not best decision, but we would not be talking about that had the two players executed.

I'd trade Steeler coach Mike "Rooney Rule" Tomlin for Lions coach Dan Campbell in less than a heart beat. And throw in gadfly as a bonus.

Humperdink said...

Because of the current administration's appeasement of bad actors, we are about to go to war. Fortunately, due to the ineptness of the Biden team, they have several choices as to where to send troops. Maybe we should sent some travel guides to Defense Secretary Austin and let him pick or let the troops vote as to where to go. Yemen, Iran, Ukraine, Taiwan, Lebanon, the list goes on. I would bet most troops would pick our southern border/ Mexico, but we had been assured it is secure.

In support of the Lions coach and Humperdink's point, Brandon Aiyuk had a near immaculate reception on what should have been an interception. Anybody who has played football at any level would love to play for a guy like Dan Campbell. Sure, these brainiac dweeb genius coaches like Shanahan are great and successful, but there's nothing like playing for a smash mouth leader who inspires the entire organization to live and breathe as one.

@robother Why would anyone volunteer for the military, knowing that your life means nothing to the Democrats?

The right wing is catching on 50+ years after the young left dodged the draft and burned their draft cards. Military recruiting is down: the standard low-income-White military career path has ended per Wokeness/equity plus the rise of managers who treat enlistees as cannon fodder and pawns in unwinnable wars. This is the end point of what started circa in 1968 with Vietnam, when the all-volunteer Marines were forced to use the draft to function.

You reap what you sow. Today's left must find a coherent and sustainable worldview or they will stumble into self-destruction and into destroying the world. But, the military will pay to snip off a recruit's genitals...so our priorities are clearly in the right place...

OK, Quaestor, here's an updated article on the Civil War gun - apparently the real deal - found in a trash bin at a Walmart in Gettysburg:

I don't know why I bother, but... If Trump were guilty of, or even if he could be implausibly linked to any actual corruption, he would long since have been charged and convicted. The fact that the entire federal government and all of the press is desperate to see him arrested and locked up, and the wild wildly creative reaches that have had to be used to concoct charges against him is all the proof needed that he is, in fact, not corrupt.

"And I see where GOP hawks are screaming for direct attacks inside Iran which will lead to another 20-year war inside an Arab country."

You won't find a lot of support around here for GOP warmongers, they are nothing more than Democrats in drag. And for the umpteenth time, Iran is not an Arab country. Of course, it is a waste of time to point these things out to you.

Nope. Not the real deal. I replied to your earlier post about astounding ignorance too. A Pietta is a modern Italian COPY of a Civil War gun. They have been made following WW2 as nostalgic and collector pieces. It cannot have any link to the actual 1860s Civil War, and should not be in any reputable museum either. Someone likely dumped it, perhaps after stealing it and discovering that these are very hard to use. Old-style muzzle loaders are not even considered legal "firearms" by the BATF -- they can be ordered by mail in most states.

Buy your own Pietta copy here for <$300:

The slur about Trump being the most corrupt President ever, has already been debunked.

It did bring up something from a decade or two ago. I might have been Rush Limbaugh. The premise being, if you really want to keep an eye on government, and keep them honest, you MUST vote
Republican. Because that's the only time the media reports any govt miscues.

Of course that was before the media went full Pravda, and just make shit up to smear Republicans.
