That means that your mother was born on the 150th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, since today is the 250th. Did she love tea, parties, tea parties?
The centennial of my Dad's birth was also this year, but in January. I look through the obits and see if the people who died were around when Dad was born. That happens infrequently now.
You can see the family resemblance. Not always the case. My father and mother don't really look like my Grandfather and Grandmother. Its sorta there, but you have to look for it.
Happy Birthday to your mom. It is good to acknowledge our many, many blessings, and to reflect fondly on the departed - not just to keep memories alive, but to be grateful for their sacrifices and gifts.
My mother's 100th would have been in June. Most of their generation came out of the Depression and WWII still optimistic and gave us an easier upbringing with wide open opportunities to thrive.
My late mother’s 100th was 3 months ago (coincidentally, I am 3 months older than Ann). I was always more my father’s son than hers, but she had a significant effect on my daughter, her only grandchild. Both were shy in HS, but my mother swore to turn that around in college, and did. My daughter followed suit. She also learned from my mother that people prefer talking about themselves, and not hearing about you. She also followed her lead academically. Mother was 1st in her class a U IL, and daughter graduated Summa cum Laude. My sister-in-law informed me at graduation that I needed to buy her a Phi Beta Kappa key. My father solved that problem, by giving her my mother’s charm bracelet, containing her college honors, several which they shared (including ΦΒΚ).
Beautiful footage in so many ways and the nostalgia factor makes it beautiful in every way. You are so lucky that your parents not only took the movies but kept them salvageable so they could be kept viewable in the digital age. I am a middle child and I think it influenced me to be territorial and a little contrary.

April for my mother. And the boomers looted the opportunities provided without a thought for their grandchildren. The final theft being their selfish and hysterical response to Covid. I’m from the very end of the Boomer era. Wish I’d been born a year later.

Delightful, and a good choice of music. Thanks for sharing.
Great film. Your parents must have been well-to-do, color film wasnt cheap back then,
We can plainly see an independent streak early on.
Thanks for sharing.
"Hey, I should tell Mom about this!! She likes to know about the neighborhood!!........oh, wait!!"
Mom died in 2021. I'm still adjusting.
Mom's are hard to lose.
Happy Birthday, Mom!!
I wish we had family movies from my childhood. We have lots of photographs but no movies that predate age of the smartphone.
Selfishly probably, I am hoping my mother outlives me- not looking forward to the opposite.

I enjoyed watching that. Thanks for posting it.

We were middle middle class.
Even caught video footage of the red hair. Was this montage inspired by the Watergate salad post with the Christmas footage from the 60's?
I’m the baby of the middle children.
My late father's 100th will be next June.
Thanks for sharing!
Woman around 0:40 is very pretty...

Anyway, its a pleasure to watch it.
Lovely tribute to a lovely lady.
Is that Meade in the background with the push mower wearing long pants?
Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Pretty precious
Really nice stuff, Ann. Love the name, Marise.
How nice. Happy centenary
Very nice Professor Althouse

No. I made this a few years ago. I’m reposting it in honor of her 100th birthday.
I dunno. That middle daughter looks like she was a bit of a handful.
Wonderful!

Lovely memories.
My father turned 89 yesterday, Dec. 15th.

She seems like she really loved being a mother and was a very genuine, down to earth and happy person. Lucky you.
Love this.
Ok that was great. Happy birthday to your mom.
Very nice and I appreciate you sharing this.
