The ex-X.

I'm reading "After Investigation and Complaints, Twitter Removes ‘X’ on Headquarters" (NYT).

One complaint described “extremely intense white stroboscopic light” that was “causing distress and nausea.”

Another wrote that the sign looked “really unstable,” adding that “a decent earthquake is going to send that thing down on the street!”

San Francisco could use a "decent earthquake". Or fire raining down from heaven.

Musk can now sue San Francisco, to go along with his suits against Microsoft and Meta and the rest.

Elon sure has been a great patron of the legal field the last two years with his ready shoot aim methodology of doing things first and then facing the legal reality later.

Poo everywhere, crime rampant

must be a sign

In an earthquake- not just any earthquake mind you, but a decent one...some SF turd is most worried about an 'X'? C'mon....

Next do a holographic X.

The sign should've been red.

So it wasn't the ubiquitous crime or wading through feces that made them sick. It was the sign. I would have loved to see this litigated. For me saying goodbye to Anchor Steam brewery would have made me sick, if I lived there.

Heck, if the earthquake was even just a little "decent," it would go after other things in SF before Musk's "X."

@MJB Wolf, it’s well known that epileptic seizures can be triggered by strobe lights.

SF is filled with steeples, giant roof antennae and buildings like the 1000-foot Salesforce Tower. Any decent quake can topple anything - the last big one dropped a portion of the Oakland Fwy, so Elon's X is the least of the worries. But it's super bright, so that's annoying to people esp those already annoyed at Musk for political reasons. Plus, being on Market St, it's very close to the Civic Center Plaza, where it could also disrupt the sleep quality of 'those experiencing unhousedness'.

This is indicative of what's wrong with San Francisco. Loudmouth control freaks want to dominate everything.

I'll add to PM's post that the light likely shed way too much light on unsavory goings on around Civic Center Plaza. It's bad enough in the daytime, I cannot imagine what it's like after dark.

I had cause to be on a Muni bus during yesterday's homebound commute, due to downed pantograph wires in the subway tunnel. I'm used to seeing the homeless shuffle along aimlessly but the sheer number of groups lounging on the sidewalk, in various states of wakefulness was staggering. By 6pm the fog was already making its way back towards downtown and a chilly breeze had kicked up. Temps here have been cooler than usual, and we really haven't had consecutive days over 65 degrees yet.

"Wolf, it’s well known that epileptic seizures can be triggered by strobe lights."

Or any flashing light source.

He should have moved the company to another state and left the sign where it was.

Tongue in cheek from the “Babylon Bee”:

In an ongoing dispute regarding the new illuminated "X" sign installed atop the former Twitter headquarters, city officials have now demanded Elon Musk have the sign removed because it is distressing to the people who are pooping on the sidewalk outside.

"The sign makes public defecation far too stressful," said San Francisco Mayor London Breed. "Our citizens have the right to feel totally at ease when they are dropping their pants and laying cable in the streets. That infernal ‘X' sign is causing them too much stress to have the peaceful public pooping experience they deserve."
