By your general tropisme, that means you are protecting someone on your side of the issue.

Not 100%, though. You get deserved credit for some independence of thought.

But if it is your side, -- when are you going to update your worldview? So overdue.

Your commenters take most of your liberal positions apart pretty thoroughly. How you withstand it, I haven't figured out yet.

You are wrong about most of the divisive issues, IMO. But If I'm wrong about any of this one in particular, hmmm, well, I doubt it; but if my provisional conclusion is in error, please chalk it up to my Taiba ticket from the Kentucky Derby. First bet I've ever lost.

Found out only this afternoon that the Oregon RTL headquarters in Salem was attacked Sunday evening. Whoever it was did it pretty much bungled their operation, evidently. The local newspaper here mentioned the story behind the headline, "Fire erupts at OR RTL building in Kiezer" (Keizer is metro Salem). The article itself begins,

Arson investigators are seeking information about a small fire that ignited Sunday night during a suspected break-in attempt at the Oregon Right to Life office in Keizer....

The second paragraph begins,

An engine and a battalion chief responded to a report of a small blaze around 10:40 p.m. at the Right to Life building....

The third paragraph begins,

At least one person tried to break a building window, but was unsuccessful, according to Lt. Trevor Wenning, a spokesperson for the Keizer Police Department. The person then lit two Molotov cocktails and threw them toward the building, which led to the small fire....

I don't know if the 'Red Guard' (the Register-Guard is the near-daily here) folks minimized the incident as much as they could because it was in fact 'very small' or because the good guys committed the arson; both, perhaps.

As a resident of Salem, OR, next door to Keizer, I can confirm what Marc says. Fortunately, the would-be Molotov cocktail-throwers were incredibly inept, so little damage was done. But we can't always rely on the idiocy of our opposition, can we?

Half of Madison was behind and in support of the Armstrong brothers' dirty work at Sterling Hall in 1970. I watched a mayoral assistant applaud the attempt to keep still-at-large Leo Burt's mugshot off the screen during the the campus premiere of "The War At Home" in 1979 at the Memorial Union. He applauded it! Fortunately that loser ran for major and lost. Still, it took dozens of years for the campus to even affix a memorial plaque to Sterling Hall. All because leftists actually approve of violence. We've seen that time after time.

The group which did the arson is relating itself by its name to a pro-abortion group which existed 1969-1973. There are two documentaries out about the 1969-1973 group. These films premiered at the 2022 Sundance Festival in January. This arson may result in publicity for the films.

Ah, for the days of my youth, when The New York Review of Books published a cover-page diagram of how to make a really good Molotov cocktail so all its readers could feel the frisson from a nearness to physical violence in support of their virtue signaling.

Of course, nowadays one puts the burning gas-soaked cloth & clothesline fuse on the outside of the bottle, keeping the ignition system separate from the fuel source during handling, while still relying on that flame to ignite the jellied gas as the bottle breaks. I was taught that by a college chemistry professor in the 1980s. But other than that small change in the name of operator safety over time, which is really a matter of style, either way should work. Of such detailed information is history constructed. Or burned to the ground, I guess.

Remember that time in Madison when a lady was filmed from behind who tried to light a building full of people on fire with lighter fluid and then minutes later, a couple of blocks away, a lady comes to the attention of the police with fresh burns from lighter fluid that was "thrown on her through the window of her car" by "white supremacists" and "Trump supporters," and lit by them throwing a lit lighter at them?
