"Sarah shocked many when she endorsed me very early in 2016, and we won big. Now, it’s my turn!"

"Sarah has been a champion for Alaska values, Alaska energy, Alaska jobs, and the great people of Alaska. She was one of the most popular Governors because she stood up to corruption in both State Government and the Fake News Media. Sarah lifted the McCain presidential campaign out of the dumps despite the fact that she had to endure some very evil, stupid, and jealous people within the campaign itself. They were out to destroy her, but she didn’t let that happen. Sarah Palin is tough and smart and will never back down, and I am proud to give her my Complete and Total Endorsement, and encourage all Republicans to unite behind this wonderful person and her campaign to put America First!"

Said Donald Trump, quoted in "Trump Finally Remembered That He Owes Sarah Palin a Favor" by Ed Kilgore (NY Magazine).

"Finally Remembered"... he endorsed her 2 days after she declared.

Kilgore ends with: "But Trump’s support gives her a chance to join the MAGA caucus in the House, in which she would barely stand out at all." A chance? Just a chance? Barely stand out? People like Kilgore make it too much fun to see the reemergence of Sarah Palin.

What made Sarah popular in Alaska was working mostly with democrats to rewrite the energy lease deal that was much more favorable to the people of Alaska against the corrupt Republican machine in Alaska that is owned by big oil.

For this she was savaged by the oligarchs.

And the stupid little Oligarch tools are still mad at her.

They don't know why.

They do what they are told.

"Trump does X" is simply news.

You have to include something to put the knife through his ribs if you want the approval of your editors.

Putting other things aside, Trump and Palin both have the right enemies.

With children we can at least hope they will grow up, learn from their mistakes, and turn out alright. Politicians never do and we are stuck with them as they are.

I never had much enthusiasm for Palin. Yes, she got a raw deal, but she didn't have the perseverance and determination, the application and energy to go on and prevail. She seemed to go for easy cheers from devoted fans, rather than buckle down and win over doubters. Trump turned out to be a good president, but as with Palin, I got tired of waiting for him to grow up.

"Complete and Total Endorsement"

It's the capitalization that will put her over the top.

""Finally Remembered"... he endorsed her 2 days after she declared . . . Kilgore ends with: "But Trump’s support gives her a chance to join the MAGA caucus in the House, in which she would barely stand out at all.""

OK, we get that progs despise him and her, as do GOPers. But why spout such obvious BS to express disdain? Do prog readers actually like or expect it?

It is fun to compare and contrast Sarah Palin with Kamala Harris.

You have to be a really stupid person to support democrats right now.

Kilgore was here and left some droppings.

Plain’s candidacy will be a test to see if the Democrat operatives with press credentials can sustain with the public their many lies about her. Typically such lies only work for a short period, which is good enough for the left. Will be interesting to watch.

The opinions of Ed Kilgore will be even more hilarious when we have Palin in the House.

Andrew Sullivan owes many people apologies. (To at least 2 women I know of.) He should start by apologizing to Palin.

I would have supported Obama in 2008 were it not for Ms Palin. I thought Obama would destroy the Democrat party and lead to reform of both parties. I was partially right, he did lead to PDJT which was a good first step.

But I loved Sarah Palin for a number of reasons. One of them was that she realized that the VP's main function is to be president of the Senate. She also realized that, although she would have to work with McCain if elected, she did not work for McCain as the VP is part of the legislative, not executive branch.

And the thing that really got me wet was her intention to be an active senate president. The Senate president has no great powers. But they do have a lot of small powers. These could be strung together to give the president considerable power over the senate.

For details on how, see how Lyndon Johnson took the booby prize (at the time) of Senate Majority Leader and turned it into a position rivaling the President of the US in power.

Caro's Master of the Senate is a good place to start.

Maybe Palin can get elected Speaker.

Sarah Palin was important as the preview of Trump. She was mocked and attacked viciously. If McCain had supported her with staff during the campaign, he might have won. I voted more for her than for him.

Forget making Trump Speaker of the House, we should make the Sarracudah Speaker and then impeach Joe and Kamala.

Grow up like Joe Biden, or Bill Clinton??? I would take Trump with his "growing up" to do, rather than career politicians who hate us, and who are actually destroying America from within.

wendybar म्हणाले...

Exactly Meade, and he should have done it YEARS ago.

Love her or hate her, Palin would stand out.

Even with all her baggage, Palin very well could be an improvement over Madison, Marjorie, and Matt.

Would that really be so hard?

An intelligent observer would be able to see that.

Of course Kilgore is a propagandist, but he's not a very skilled or discerning one, and that's his biggest problem.

That was the thing, with both her And Trump..
They weren't fighting Democrats, they were fighting corrupt politicians (both parties)
Which is WHY, they are HATED So Much

As I said the other day, I'm not sure how they're going to go after her. Her family life isn't going to be much of liability, since the current Oval Office resident has a literal crack addict for a son. Attacking her for her resignation risks reminding a lot of voters about the harassment she faced and the horrible treatment by the establishment, and a reminder of why they voted for Trump in the first place.

MikeR म्हणाले...

I agree 100% with his assessment of Palin. Everyone knew she was the only chance the McCain campaign had, and she made a heck of a splash.
Then the campaign botched things incredibly, trying to drill her on foreign policy, memorization, so she could do an interview. They should have done an interview right away, and she would have said, Yeah, I'm a governor; I haven't worried about foreign policy, don't know much about it yet. I'll need to learn about it now that I'm running. Every candidate has things they need to learn; for instance, our opponent has never done anything but a couple of years in the Senate, never run a thing in his life. I've run an entire state.

OOOOoooo, shiny. I hope she runs (in Alaska) on that prospect. And that DJT, who has declined to compete for that job, endorses it.

Readering म्हणाले...

Trump was in office for 4 years and what did he do for Palin, who had paved the path?

There are now a lot of GOP Reps reaching for the spotlight on Fox and elsewhere every day. It's a crowded place.

In other words, conventional comments from Kilgore.

This will be an interesting test of Trump's endorsement power and he did not wait for a visit tp Palm Beach. It's a crowded primary field, but she already has all the name recognition one could want. Her rivals will be counting on the quitter tag to follow her, but a lot need to quit themselves. I hope she comes up with more of a platform than save-the-children. Energy seems a good bet.

So if the Left is going to once again try to portray Sarah Palin as a ditz, then in order to be intellectually honest how do they have to portray Kamala Harris? Also with reemergence of Sarah Palin, we could also see the reemergence of Andrew Sullivan's gynecological career.

Compelling speech like this is the first step in cancel culture. Besides, it's none of your business. Have you apologized to Ann for having a antivaxer tantrum at the David Sedaris performance?
