"I mean, how can they not understand there’s enormous sort of diversity among the worldviews of people within the Black community? They vary by class, they vary by age, they vary in all kinds of ways. And the idea that they are sort of all on board with this crusade against the superficial aspects of so-called systemic racism, that that’s really what they care about, is fanciful, really."
Said Ruy Teixeira, quoted in "Confessions of a Liberal Heretic/Ruy Teixeira was co-author of one of the most influential political books of the 21st century. Now, he says, Democrats are getting its lessons all wrong" (NYT).
Teixeira's influential book was "The Emerging Democratic Majority," predicting, in 2002, that the process of demographic change would pile up votes on the side of the Democratic Party.
Interviewed about that idea now, he says that even back then he (and his co-author) "very specifically said — and this is widely ignored — that for this majority to attain and exercise political power, you have to retain a significant fraction of the white working class." And he admits that they didn't recognize how much the "professional-class hegemony in the Democratic Party... would tilt the Democrats so far to the left on sociocultural issues" and lead to positions on immigration and crime and systemic racism that are alienating to many white working class voters.

You can only talk about it if you are happy about it, I think Ann Coulter said that.
there’s enormous sort of diversity among the worldviews of people within the Black community? They vary by class, they vary by age, they vary in all kinds of ways.
Identity Politics requires one to ignore the diversity and see everybody as the same based on the color of their skin or maybe sexual preference. And if you notice that fact about Identity Politics, you are called racist.
The Emerging Democratic Majority is up there with The End of History and What's the Matter With Kansas as an exercise in willful blindness to basic realities about human nature.
Black voters historically overwhelmingly vote democrat, so it's not a myth. It may change. I hope so but I'm not hopeful.
Well yeah, you call white people racist, the people who try hard to look beyond race to the person underneath, and you wonder why they don't like you.
Democrat elites want to segregate and divid everyone - pit all these groups against each other - and harvest their rage and anger for votes. Democrats also thrive when people stay stupid and mind-numbed to the bullshit spread on TV.
Exhibit: The View, Jimmy Kimmel, Steven Colbert, SNL, and Maddow, et al..
Sprinkle some failing inner city public schools... now snaking into the burbs...
Bonus the the Teacher's Union is a wholly owned subsidiary of the democrat party - and the goals are clear: Keep our children angry, confused, over-sexualized, segregated by race and skin color, and generally un-educated and so they cannot compete in the modern age with their international counter-parts and end up as good little democrat cogs on the government dole.
***Look at the insane mind of Bill Penzy. I guarantee he bathes himself in propaganda outfits like Maddow, Democracy! Now! The Nation, Steven Colbert, Maddow and The View.
In other words, "oops!"
Talk about missing a layup.
What I find interesting about the excerpt is it starts off by highlighting the failure of leftists to speak to issues that are important to a large number of black people, but in the end he blames his prediction miss on alienating white working people. THOSE are the people we should be mad at!

This Is RACISM!!! This sort of RACIST! violence Can NOT be allowed!
There is Only One True Path... And Ibram X. Kendi is its profit
I love how people say "white working class" without even realizing what they're saying subconsciously.
Take for instance, what would happen if the 'white working class' stopped working tomorrow? General strike? Just like legislation you have to pass to find out what's in it, maybe we should just do it to see what happens!
The Democrats are counting on the importation of millions of future voters from Central America. However, those migrants will not be able to vote for ten years.
In the meantime, that importation of Central Americans will anger lots of Blacks and blue-collar Whites, who might turn against the Democrats during the next ten years.
"They live in this liberal cultural bubble, particularly the younger members."
No shit! They come from colleges and universities that discourage free thinking and create an environment, in and out of class, where kids must puppet the party line or shut up. Many who disagree unfortunately do shut up for fear of reprisals, not just from the administration, but from their leftist peers who also scare the shit out of the administration.
Then they bring this narrow mindset into the professional world where their bosses are, again, scared shitless to tell them that different opinions aren't actually violence against them.
The White Left know what is best for blacks. shut up and obey.
The ladies who started BLM are now wealthy elite grifters. Are blacks aided by this?
"the process of demographic change would pile up votes on the side of the Democratic Party"
Hasn't it?
"for this majority to attain and exercise political power, you have to retain a significant fraction of the white working class."
The election of 2020 refuted this. Dems afford to ignore the wwc and still win.
"they didn't recognize how much the "professional-class hegemony in the Democratic Party... would tilt the Democrats so far to the left on sociocultural issues" and lead to positions on immigration and crime and systemic racism that are alienating to many white working class voters"
IOW, he didn't recognize what progs actually wanted. Of course, they want power, but power not to cater to deplorable racists, but to transform the country. Now, the "professional class" may miscalculate electorally in the short run, but they count on nice women and generational replacement to get what they want eventually.
Exactly what Can of Cheese said at 9:41 am. The left is placing everybody in little boxes that you can't break free of. They are resegregating us under the guise that whites are RACIST.
"What I find interesting about the excerpt is it starts off by highlighting the failure of leftists to speak to issues that are important to a large number of black people, but in the end he blames his prediction miss on alienating white working people. THOSE are the people we should be mad at!"
I should have said "in the end the NYT makes him seem like he's blaming it on white people."
The Democratic Party's main problem with Black voters is Black men, who are more likely to refrain from voting.
In the 2016 Presidential election, a significant number of Black men declined to vote for Hillary Clinton. They did not vote for Donald Trump. Rather, they did not vote for either candidate.
That is why the Democratic Party wants 1) to extend early voting and 2) to allow ballot harvesting. These two "reforms" enable Democratic activists more time and opportunity to harass Black men to vote.
Also, if a Black man relents to vote but then perversely votes against the Democratic candidate, then the ballot harvester will be able to discard that ballot.
There is no 'Enormous Diversity" among Black voters. Blacks vote 80-90 percent Democrat in one Federal election after another, and they have done so for 50 years. McGovern, carter, Mondale, clinton, kerry, Hillary, Obama, Biden. It doesn't matter.
There hasn't been a single POTUS election since 1928, where the Republican got more than 32% of the black vote. Blacks voted overwhelming for FDR, and Nixon got 32% of the vote in 1960 despite supporting the 1957 Civil Rights bill, and JKF having a segregationist (LBJ) as a VP.
Blacks vary by age. And all kinds of other ways?
A scholar at work.
He published that crap in 2002. He's done little or nothing to stop the Democrats from mis-interpreting it in the past 20 years. I haven't read Ruy's book, but something tells me he was all in on the identity politics and this is just an exercise in ass covering.

Wanna bet?
What he got wrong is that Hispanics are white and don't like blacks very much.
There is a new political formation which I call "Life Long Democrats." These are people who support Republican positions on such issues as parental control of schools, masking children, vaccine mandates and free speech to the point where they will vote Republican. But they can't bear to be thought of as a snaggle-toothed knuckle-dragger which is what a Republican is in their own minds. So they explain their position as "I'm a life-long Democrat but ..." "... But I was almost cancelled when I tried to say that my children were doing badly in the masked, joyless regime of the public schools and only Republicans seemed to know what I was talking about - or to care." "... But my family has had Covid and I almost got cancelled for asking why you need the vaccine when you've had the disease and only Republicans had that same question." "... But I'm a comedian and only Republicans let me tell whatever jokes I want." "... But I was raised to believe in free speech and I had to leave my job in main stream media / academia/ Hollywood because free speech no longer exists there. Only Republicans regard that as a serious problem." And so on. They don't agree with Republicans on many issues - they might say "Even if there was cheating in the election the Republicans should not say so any more." Yet they might also say "I have secret about what if - what if the election were held now and I was sure it was a secret ballot?"
"Don't it always seem to go/That you don't know what you've got till it's gone?"

In full context, Teixeira saw the need for a working class populist party....he just had no idea that 18 years later that emerging working class/populist party would the "becoming "newer" by the day" republican party.
And in 2002, who could blame them for that? We still have the GOPe doing everything they can to help establish a permanent democratical policy state...just a bit slower though. A bit.

The enduring allure of free shit from the Democrats strongly supports your doubt.
Trump gave Republican voters an alternative to the oligarch owned GOPe.
He is also giving Black and Hispanic voters an alternative to the democrat party.
Most black voters are apathetic at best about he democrat party. The reason for their turnout for democrats is tied to vote harvesting shenanigans.
This is the reason why Trump is really the only choice in 2024. Unless someone else comes in from the outside with the same energy and ability to connect to people who are not political they will not be able to connect to the working class.
A lifetime politician will not be able to do this. The path that politicians take in education and development generally precludes them from being able to relate to a huge number of people in this country.

This is so true. But it also angers lots of Mexicans and Cubans. Look at what is happening along the Texas border and Miami.
One of the things I most dislike about the Dem party is that they presume individuals act according to how their identity group acts. Ergo, Clarence Thomas is Black so he has to be a Dem and any free thought and wandering off the liberal plantation means he is betraying his race. Same deal with gays. Who says that all gays have to be liberal? A gay guy from Nebraska was the leader of the "walkaway" movement.
I think conservatives are much more attuned to the idea of individualism and free thought.
The Jesuits have a concept called "care for the individual." The Jesuits know that people have their own individual gifts from God and interests and they don't shove every student into the same pigeonhole.
At my high school, some boys weren't superstars in the classroom but they might be good at sports, music or getting along with people.
Black immigrants from South Africa, Haiti, and Cuba have nothing in common with poor American blacks from Mississippi or rich American blacks from DC and Martha's Vineyard.
Having lived in a Metro Detroit suburb for a number of years I used to feel sorry for the blacks, seeing what their community leaders and elected officials have done to them.
No more. I understand now that line of thinking stems from endless liberal propaganda.
Blacks have chosen their culture, their leaders, their morals, their behavior, their values, their attitudes, and their identity.
Free will.
If they'd stop murdering people and acting out in public, that'd be great. Other than than, let them be. Quit trying to save them from themselves.
'Black voters historically overwhelmingly vote democrat, so it's not a myth. It may change. I hope so but I'm not hopeful.'
As soon as Trump was elected, I thought he should have been having at least half of his rallies in Detroit, East St. Louis, and Harlem.
He could have destroyed the voting pattern with a sincere attempt (and I think Trump is sincere and in no way racist) at outreach...
His argument would hold more water if black americans didn't vote in a 95% or so block.
With the Left, it’s never a question of what’s right or wrong that will be used to govern their actions or causes.
They do what they do to acquire more power. That these actions negatively affect national security, quality of life, racial harmony and future generations is just icing on the cake.
""for this majority to attain and exercise political power, you have to retain a significant fraction of the white working class."
The election of 2020 refuted this. Dems afford to ignore the wwc and still win."
It's interesting that the Democrats had such stunning victories a year ago but are now so afraid of loosing. Probably because they know the 2020 election was an anomaly due to COVID allowing local officials to have "emergency" mass ballot mailings, nursing home vote parties, and partially monitored outdoor vote boxes that allow adding invalid votes under color of chain of custody.
The congress tried to make these practices standard operating procedure in the vote federalization bill but failed, so they are now worried.
It would be embarrassing for democrats to fail badly in 22 and 24 and have people think that Beiden was elected by exploiting an emergency to change the rules, but they can blame it on inflation, and Afghanistan instead of the unique voting operations of 2020.
You would think that a people who see themselves falling short compared to EVERY ethnic group that comes into the United States, black, asian, hispanic, persian, EVERY one of them have passed normal black americans in prosperity.
The democrat party has been deadly for them.
As soon as Trump was elected, I thought he should have been having at least half of his rallies in Detroit, East St. Louis, and Harlem.
In theory, but not moored in reality. Blood on the streets before that would be allowed to happened.
Trump had to cancel one rally in 2008 due to violence. Guess where-
Deaths by race due to auto accidents and violence since the George Floyd 'uprising.'
Stop Asian Hate was big on local news across the country. Then it kinda died away when newscasts showed security video of the attacks and people began to notice the attackers weren't red-hatted MAGAs.
I am old enough to have been around when Texeira published his hugely influential book. At the time, every conservative I knew seemed to have said, He really has no idea how out of touch he is with the Democratic Party. Certainly I thought so.
there’s enormous sort of diversity among the worldviews of people within the Black community? They vary by class, they vary by age, they vary in all kinds of ways.
Identity Politics requires one to ignore the diversity and see everybody as the same based on the color of their skin or maybe sexual preference. And if you notice that fact about Identity Politics, you are called racist.
In this case, identity politics is correct. As pointed out above, Black Americans vote overwhelmingly Democratic. And that is the third biggest problem facing Black Americans today. (Behind the 75% fatherless rate and thug culture)
Both politic parties ignore the issues important to Black voters. There is no reason to pay attention to them. Republicans ignore Black issues because they know that no matter what a Republican says or does, Black people are not going to vote for him. (Even if he himself is Black) Democrats ignore Black issues because they know that no matter what a Democrat says or does, Black people will vote for him overwhelmingly.
The smartest thing the Black community could do at this point is to split their vote 50/50. I guarantee you that both parties would pay attention then.
Browndog:
Don't tell Secretary Pete that. He'll call you a racist.
@Browndog "Blacks have chosen their culture, their leaders, their morals, their behavior, their values, their attitudes, and their identity. Free will."
This would be more correct if human beings weren't so susceptible to propaganda. Black or white. The Democratic Party did this to them, for power. It was one of the most successful and most evil political ploys of the century.
We have free will but we aren't that good at knowing when to use it.
Nixon got 32% of the vote in 1960 despite supporting the 1957 Civil Rights bill, and JKF having a segregationist (LBJ) as a VP.
When the Black vote shifted from Republican to Democratic in the 1930's, the Democratic Party was still enforcing Jim Crow and lynching Black men in the South. For some reason, Black people who escaped the South and began voting in the northern cities voted for the very party that had oppressed them in the South.
This is America. The only color that matters is green.
All of the above for the win.

Where’s that mirror for Texeira to look into, again?? If the elite cared- they could work together and fix these things. The power of this world isn’t going to help anyone- in the next.
As I watched the NFL games this weekend, I was overwhelmed by advertising images of handsome, prosperous, affluent black Americans in intact families driving their brand new EVs around model suburbs right out of a Chamber of Commerce lifestyle promo. Everyone seemed employed in IT, higher education, or other clean industries. There were no discipline issues at school. All were happy, smiling, and well dressed. From the sample onscreen, these folks apparently constitute about 75% of the US population. No wonder they all vote Democratic: they have arrived. They are part of the credentialed elite.
We can only hope that the aspirational lives on display reflect reality.
"Do they really believe that the Black voters who formed the base of the Democratic Party think like Ibram X. Kendi, or the leaders of BLM? Are they crazy?"
Yes, and yes
"I mean, how can they not understand there’s enormous sort of diversity among the worldviews of people within the Black community?"
because for the Left, "diversity" is only about skin color. There is no possibly acceptable diversity in thought.
Therefore, it simply can not enter their world view that a "real black person" would disagree with them. It's not like they actually ever interact with working class black people, other than by hiring them / as someone else's employees.
It's a nice tie-in to this article that Instapundit posted yesterday:
https://amgreatness.com/2022/01/24/journalists-need-to-learn-how-to-lay-bricks/
It's not just the journalists who need to get out of their tight little bubble
A few points:
First, people who agreed with the thesis of the Emerging Democratic Majority assumed that Hispanics would continue to vote heavily Democratic. This never seemed a good bet to me. First, other immigrants such as the Irish, Poles and Italians all began as mostly Democratic voters and gradually moved to a more balanced voting pattern. Why wouldn’t Hispanics follow the same route? Secondly, those groups changed at different rates – the Poles were faster than the Irish, for example. So why would we expect to see Hispanics act uniformly when they come from so many different countries? Still less should we assume the same behavior between Hispanics and non-Hispanics – Mexicans and Arabs immigrants, for example. The immigrant vote is a reservoir, with new immigrants flowing in and assimilated immigrants outflowing. It is in the interest of the D’s to increase incoming numbers and slow assimilation, but the latter is something that is mostly out of their control. People eventually want to assimilate, and they decide to do so in their own way.
Second, about the political effects of immigration. Here is a thought experiment: how would voting have changed over the last 30 years if immigration had been much lower beginning, say 50 years ago? The conventional answer would be many more Republican victories, without the prop the Democrats got from high levels of immigrants. I don’t think that would have happened. Without those votes, the Democrats would have gone looking for votes elsewhere, and likely would have found as many, or nearly as many. But to get those votes they would have needed to expose other views, that is to say more moderate views. High immigrations allows the D’s to go farther left.
So high immigration has one of two political consequences. If the D’s move left and the R’s stay the same, the country becomes more polarized. Or, the D’s can move left and the R’s can move left as well, while keeping the same amount of apparent space between the two parties. Much of the Republican establishment wants option number two, they want the US to move left, and they want to occupancy the right end of that leftward moving spectrum. That’s explains their attitude to immigration. Trump chose the first option. That’s a big part of why he was so hated and was such a polarizing figure.
"For some reason, Black people who escaped the South and began voting in the northern cities voted for the very party that had oppressed them in the South."
That's because the parties switched in the early 20th century, and the Party of Lincoln became the Party of Oppression that you know today as the Republican Party. https://www.livescience.com/34241-democratic-republican-parties-switch-platforms.html
Which might confuse some people, because we all know for a fact that racist Democrats switched to the Republican party in the 1960s. https://www.history.com/news/how-the-party-of-lincoln-won-over-the-once-democratic-south
But how, you ask, could the Democrats have been racists just before the switch in the 1960s if the racists already had moved to the Republican party in the early 1900s?

I know it's hard to understand, but just believe me: the Republicans are the real KKK. And the Democrats, who previously enslaved blacks, then founded the KKK, and today urge blacks to believe that they can never get ahead and need to rely on the government, i.e. Democrats, they are the ones that always have had the best interest of blacks in mind.

You were right the first time.
Look, if your mom gets pregnant with you when she's 13, gives birth when she's 14, teh guy who donated teh sperm wants nothing to do with you or her, you're screwed. And that's not your fault.
The 1996 welfare reform law did a lot to make the lives of black people better, because it stopped encouraging (with cash payments) destructive behavior, and started encouraging good behavior.
The Democrat Party HATES that law, because people with screed up lives make for consistency Dem voters, and clients for social workers who donate lots of money to the Dem Party.
So they've been working to sabotage it ever since
Try to attack the parts of "black culture" that support and glorify crime, early pregnancy, and a wasted life?
The Democrats will come after you with knives. Because that culture gets them money and voters.
As I said in the "affirmative action" thread, I'm utterly opposed to any feelings of guilt on my part, so long as black culture is so destructive. And while I hold to that, I do have some sympathy for the poor people caught in the traps teh Democrats have created for them.
I'm not going to reward the traps by giving people benefits for letting the Democrats screw them over. But I do understand that it's not entirely their fault
"Republicans ignore Black issues because they know that no matter what a Republican says or does, Black people are not going to vote for him."
It's because there's no such thing as black issues.
Dems champion diversity--they demand conformity. Go figure.

Michael Rapaport and the fisking of his progressive worldview. IDK, maybe he likes it.
I see a couple of people, This Person and Mike K, have already noted that the unexpected shift is more Hispanics than white working class, and also the update This Person did to note that the quote is shaped to make it sound like Teixeira expected the white working class to stick with the Democrats. He has a substack (theliberalpatriot.substack.com) and in
this post quite clearly indicates he thinks the problem for the Democrats is the Hispanic shift and, as importantly, their belief that the white working class was always going to fade in relevance.
On the latter, consider that most Democrats like to believe that, since a relatively conservative white population is in sharp decline while a presumably liberal nonwhite population keeps growing, the course of social and demographic change should deliver an ever-growing Democratic coalition. It is simply a matter of getting this burgeoning nonwhite population to the polls.
Well, my taxonomy fixation came when I read that they were defining field mice that ate one kind of food in one kind of environment as a *different species* than identical field mice in a different environment that ate different food, just so that they could declare the new species endangered and take control of development of the land. It was a purely political decision that had nothing to do with SCIENCE. There are similar issues with polar bears and brown bears. But the real problem is that they let their politics and machlust blind their judgment in making taxonomic decisions (Who is Asian, and everybody we throw in that bin is the same, for instance.)
I don't know how long they expected to keep a stranglehold on the votes of East Asians from certain ethnicities while standing like George Wallace at the schoolhouse door to keep them out of Harvard, for example. Nobody thinks very deeply. I know it's turtles all the way down, but most people only see one turtle, and the edifice of affirmative action and the coalition that supports it is founded on some restive turtles, further down.
"High immigrations allows the D’s to go farther left."
You could have saved a lot of typing by just saying this, but I would change it a little: "High immigration allows the D's to imagine that they can go farther and farther left."
"[...] to attain and exercise political power, you have to retain a significant fraction of the white working class."
Or at least have "the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics," which in fact the democrats do.

__________
My, but this is droll.
The parties switched in the early 20th Century? The source he cites says they switched in the mid-thirties, which is hardly “early.” But then, that source also says:
“After the United States triumphed over the Confederate States at the end of the Civil War, and under President Abraham Lincoln, Republicans passed laws that granted protections for Black Americans and advanced social justice (for example the Civil Rights Act of 1866 though this failed to end slavery).”
Someone this ignorant of history should be ignored immediately.
“But how, you ask, could the Democrats have been racists just before the switch in the 1960s if the racists already had moved to the Republican party in the early 1900s?”
They couldn’t have, of course.
“Well... to help you understand, you just need the missing piece of history, which is that sometime after the first switch in the early 1900s, and before the second switch in the 1960s, all the racists switched back again from Republicans to Democrats.”
If that were true, the Republicans would have won statewide offices all over the South, and carried Southern states in Presidential elections. Try Wikipedia, starting at 1900 United States presidential election, and note the election maps (you can easily click through the successive elections from there).
Aside from 1928, when the Democrats made the error of nominating a Catholic, the South stayed quite solidly Democratic until the 1960s (and even in 1928, six Southern states stayed Democratic; all but one were in the original, seven state Confederacy to boot). You can also look up Congressional and Senate races, state legislatures, and local elections if you like, but the point should be made. The (white) racists never switched to the Republicans in the early 20th Century. They didn’t do it in the 1960s, either. Instead, they more often voted third party: Robert Byrd Sr., and then George Wallace.
What actually happened is obvious: during the Depression, FDR pandered to the white racists in the South, but he cut blacks in on the welfare money, and some of the public-works jobs. So did the Democratic big-city machines in places like Chicago, cities that saw very large influxes of Southern blacks starting after WWI. That's what led to the black switch to the Democrats.
What makes anyone think only white folk disagree with leftist policy on racism, immigration and crime? Why does the left ignore those Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, and Pacific Islanders who disagree with governing via division of populace into racial identity groups, allowing open borders, and ignoring criminal behavior?

This is a link to Jordan Peterson interviewing Chloe Valdary . Titled “Theory of Enchantment” it’s about antiracism and the history of skin color, I think. I starit- I’ll have to restart and listen better. An educated POV- I love listening to such things.
Thankfully that throwaway reference to St. George Floyd wasn't a quote from Teixeira himself, but nonetheless appalling that the NYT's clueless junior journodrones Blake and Leah are still parroting —uncorrected— the righteous, lying narrative that Floyd was murdered by the police, rather than dying from a self-administered fentanyl overdose. The initial post-mortem indicated bloodstream fentanyl levels more than twice the LD50; perhaps semi-accidentally resultant from Floyd's “hooping” (i.e., anal insertion) his stash —admitted freely to the arresting officers, and probably intended to avoid further complicating his criminal justice situation, beyond just passing the fake $20 bill.
Significant blood levels showed up as well, of fentanyl metabolites, methamphetamine, cocaine, and cannabinoids.
The formal autopsy report, published online by the Hennepin County Coroner's office just days after Floyd's death, also revealed that his lungs weighed three times the expected amount, due to their being almost completely fluid/exudate filled: a classic sympton of Fentanyl toxicology; and his heart was greatly enlarged as a resulted of decades of untreated arteriosclerosis. And as icing on the cake, Floyd tested positive for COVID19!
(Also ignored in the rabid media Chauvin lynching was that MN first responders had just several weeks or months previously revived Floyd from a near-fatal fentanyl OD using a Naloxone injection.)
In just the last several months, it was revealed that enormous political pressure and professional threats were brought down on the coroner to induce him to revise his conclusions in the direction of intentional, prosecutable police misconduct. Chauvin's 30-year sentence will come, in due course, to be seen as the American equivalent of the infamous Dreyfus trial.
Peter Spieker: "First, other immigrants such as the Irish, Poles and Italians all began as mostly Democratic voters and gradually moved to a more balanced voting pattern. Why wouldn’t Hispanics follow the same route?"
For democraticals, their racialist view trumps all so in their puny world view, all latinos are "brown people", unlike Poles and Italians, and thus would never transition to voting for republicans in large numbers.
Wrong on so many levels of course, but thats our democraticals!
If you want to hear people who are mad about lack of law enforcement, talk to working Black people who live in cities. They're not happy about the shitty sanitation and utility services either. (I speak as someone who has talked to tenants for landlords over many years.)

My, but this is droll.
It was tongue in cheek. I hope you can forgive me.
The only group to more reliably vote Dem than blacks is NYT employees.

"What he got wrong is that Hispanics are white and don't like blacks very much."
Hi, Doc.
I think that really depends on what hispanic country they are from. People from Brazil or Cuba which have higher populations of black citizens are more accepting.
Bit I think the main reason hispanics reject the Democrat party is that Democrats as a whole aren't family oriented. Republicans are more family oriented and tends to draw more hispanics.
