From the comments over there: "Mme Macron's daughter is so similar to her mother, It is a ludicrous suggestion that Mme Macron is not female. A more feminine woman is hard to find. What a ludicrous way to try to cause problems for the Macrons."
ADDED: Why sue over this? Doesn't it make her look transphobic? The rumors just seem like random internet bullshit, so you need a good motivation to elevate them. If the motivation is just to crush idiots who horse around and taunt people, that's mostly repressive and punching down.
And that commenter I quoted also has unnecessary transphobia, because why would "A more feminine woman is hard to find" work as proof that Brigitte Macron is not transgender? The unspoken foundation of that remark is that transgender women are not feminine. Isn't that impolite?

Those 4Chan nerds are something else. They cause psychological disruptions around the world with the push of a button. MSNBC and CNN and ABCNBCCBSWAPONYTNPRPBS need all that infrastructure (as Biden might say) to goof people up. All 4Chan needs is an implausible idea they can attach to a story.
So, 👌.
And, pizzagate!
And, Pepe the Frog!
And, Mme Macron is a boy!
"What a ludicrous way to try to cause problems for the Macrons."
What's ludicrous is the premise that this could or should cause problems for the Macrons.
She acts like there is something wrong with a man undergoing a sex change.
Had they only added "Non pas qu'il y ait quelque chose de mal à cela" (Not that there's anything wrong with that) at the bottom of each post, they would have had a bullet proof defense. Quel dommage.
Boy, the Times of London could have picked a better picture to dispel the rumor!
Brigitte Macron is to sue over an 'outlandish' conspiracy theory being spread by extreme rightwingers that she was born a man before undergoing a sex change....
"Not that there's anything wrong with that."
But it appears the recent recognition in Canada of a "false light" invasion of privacy tort in 2020 says there has to be "something wrong with that" (see "highly offensive" element in bold, below).
Ontario Superior Court recognizes new “false light” privacy tort In the recent family law decision Yenovkian v. Gulian,1 the Ontario Superior Court of Justice recognized a new invasion of privacy tort: “publicity which places the plaintiff in a false light in the public eye.” Although the scope of the new tort is not yet well-defined, the decision could have implications reaching outside the family law context, into employment law and beyond...
In coming to its decision, the court adopted a new invasion of privacy tort from American tort law: the tort of “publicity which places the plaintiff in a false light in the public eye.” This new tort is the last of four American privacy torts to be adopted into Canadian law: the others are intrusion upon seclusion, public disclosure of embarrassing private facts and appropriate of name or likeness for the defendant’s advantage.
The false light privacy tort will be met if:
an individual gives publicity to a matter concerning another before the public in a false light;
the false light in which the other was placed would be highly offensive to a reasonable person; and
the individual had knowledge of or acted in reckless disregard as to the falsity of the publicized matter and the false light in which the other would be placed.
The court acknowledged that the false light privacy tort has significant overlap with the separate privacy tort of public disclosure of private facts. However, while the public disclosure of private facts tort involves true statements, the false light tort involves false or misleading claims.
This seems to me to be a good example of the Streisand effect.
Are they sure that this isn't just mocking her?
"What a ludicrous way to try to cause problems for the Macrons."
How so? Isn't this the perfect woke way to help?
I know, I know, the French are supposed to be immune to wokeness. But I think the rot is spreading there too. A trans first lady is the perfect counterpoint to rabid Zemmour.
A more feminine woman is hard to find.
Of course, it's a stupid theory, but overdoing it with the denial comes across as obsequious and simply encourages the theory. I also sense a little bit of the demeaning, dismissive British stereotype of the ga-ga, chichi, ooh la la so girly feminine French woman, though I could be overreading the sentence. It's better to focus on the absurdity or impossibility of such a deception.
When no institutions can be trusted, such conspiracy theories spread.
i, Personally, Read about this; on THE INTERNET
The VERY SAME internet, that told me about
russia collusion
chlorine bleach
the Ape TV channel
piss hookers
82 Million votes for Jo Biden
I suppose, you're going to say; that all those are untrue, too?
You'd think she'd welcome that deflection from the teacher student recruiting meme.
Celebrities used to sue if you claimed they were gay. Can't do that any more. I guess suing because someone says you're a trans isn't long for this world either.
The aristocracy always finds some way or another to go after the wreckers and hoarders.
"Mme Macron's daughter is so similar to her mother,"
Maybe Mme Macron is her daughter's father!
There was a time when Andrew Sullivan would have been just the man to get to the bottom of this, but he seems to have gone sane in recent years.
Streisand Effect?
But maybe she wants to give the theory publicity. "See what awful enemies my family has. Shouldn't you support us?" Even if there are no positive reasons to support, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
QAnon, the American movement
America should sue the London Times for calling QAnon a movement. It’s nothing of the sort.
Ooh la la!
The left in France sounds sexist (trans-ist?). So what if she's trans?
The more they fight the dumber they look.
Reminds me of the LBJ pig fucker story...
Apparently she is not familiar with the Streisand Effect.
Has Andrew Sullivan chimed in? This sound like "Trig's baby" only in French.
For the record does she identify as a female? Until she does how do we really know? Nowdays thats a thing. I dont make the rules.
But sure, let's focus on the lunatic fringe of the right as a way of discrediting anything not approved by the insane left. Politics 101.
Now that you mention it, there is a marked difference in BM's appearance before and after her plastic surgery procedures. She goes from looking like Mr. Macron's mother to his kindergarden teacher or teenage daughter, depending on her outfit. I think the accusation about her being trans is sarcasm, mocking her extreme measures to pass as a much younger looking woman, referencing the way that transwomen are so often obviously attempting to "pass" as stereotypical women but fooling nobody.
I dunno why a QAnon-type conspiracy would have to make something up about a woman that groomed her underage student when she was 40. (The Macrons claim that Emmanuel was 15 when they became lovers, but I'm calling shenanigans on that).
La cage aux folles
What they're really pointing out (other than her long, horsey face) is that she's old.
Women, past menopause, tend to look more and more masculine.
That's all.
She's pushing 70. Emmanuel Macron is only 44 years old. They're kind of highlighting that.
Brigitte's daughter is 37 years old, to give a further age comparison.
Roger Sweeny said...Streisand Effect?

Maybe, but how many people are hearing this rumor for the first time, looking at her photo, and thinking, “hmm, could they be right?”
Maybe she's her own grandpa. Love will find a way.
The whole story is a coverup of the crab people and lizard people actually running the UN and France, respectively.
A few years back, maybe even to this day, the same thing was said of Ann Coulter. IIRC, she totally ignored it.
She looks an awful lot like Jane Fonda to me.
She's an old lady who left her husband and family to fuck a child.
A typical French situation, ethics-and-otherwise. She looks trans.
