I don’t think Althouse has standing to write about Iran. No cognizable injury.
If the US Constitution said that only the legislatures of the several states could determine the method of federal elections but executive officials ignored it, who is to say that the constitution should be followed? Allah akabar.

Perhaps, Gruesome Newsome and other wannabe dictators should take note of this sentiment.
Right now the people are reluctantly compliant with dictates and some laws..and in other areas are practicing Irish Democracy.
Push it at "all costs" and see what the push back is.

The Iranian regime knows how to prioritize.
Why wouldn't they look at the US and think feel good symbolism would smooth the route to resumption of Obama's Iran nuclear deal?
Any USA moral preening needs to differentiate between governance styles. Once you lose that is like Virgin no longer.

I knew many Iranians in college (during the revolution) and know a few now.
Hate to generalize, but as a nationality/culture they are some of the smartest people on earth.
I will never know why they have put up with such bullshit for so long.

Simple. The smart and sane that could leave did leave. It's not called brain drain for nothing.
I'm watching the 320 million people I agreed to live in peace with, burn down a thing we had. We're gonna start killing each other. Granted, it's a normal thing in human history, but I can't think about Iran right now. There is sadness, but also excitement. When this thing goes down, my peeps are gonna take Seattle and its port. Ports are important.
Then we'll ponder Iran. (Not really)
