yes - lets watch democrat actors portray their favorite team with kid-gloves and humor.

All while they treat any R with total disdain and nasty mocking.

rehajm said...

He and they will pull comedic punches. I only see the coming appeal to authority angle to attack Trump.

I'm sure it will be very flattering.

aka - SNL will be one giant campaign ad for the democrat party.

SNL portrayed Ronald Reagan as a 94-year-old man in 1980 before the election. (He lied about his age.) They really hammered the age angle. I don't like those kinds of jokes. But it will be interesting knowing they will consciously avoid the topic with Biden.

Not like I’ve watched it in 25 years anyway, but I was repulsed and have remained so by Jim Carrey The first time I ever saw him.

Yawn. No thanks. I see enough Trump hate on TV as it is.

Now now. We should not begrudge our lefties and LLR-lefties their required daily dose of make believe from their make believers in make believe scenarios saying make believe things.

Its the world they inhabit and one from which they must receive daily affirmation.

You would be astonished how many of them (lefties/LLR-lefties) still believe, fervently, that Reagan conspired with the Ayatollah to hold US citizens hostage longer for political purposes, that the Bush family financed the rise of Hitler (yes, the actual literal Hitler), that W Bush knowingly let 9-11 happen and even had US personnel blow up the World Trade Center Towers, that W Bush was AWOL during his National Guard service, etc.

The list is endless......and all nonsense....which means there must be a constant stream of "validating" support/"evidence"/cultural backup for their insanity.

I used to watch SNL back in the Bush-Gore era.. it was pretty good then. Boy they couldn't get away with the gay stuff they did back then. I mean, It's Pat! and the sexually ambiguous duo...Don Henley hustling some poor fanboy who just wanted to hang out with him...yikes.

Haven;t then been canceled yet?

Who else could they get but Maya to do Kamala?

I look forward to another iteration of the old Fire Marshall Bill skits.

I'll be among the missing.

Why not Woody Harrelson? His performance as Biden during the Dem debates was brilliant. Was he maybe too on point about Joe's cluelessness?

Bushman of the Kohlrabi said...

Hard pass. I’ve already had my fill of leftist propaganda for multiple lifetimes.

Craig said...

Jim Carrey has WAY too much vitality to play Biden. I don't see how it could work, but perhaps they'll prove me wrong.

That's gonna be a "no" from me.

To paraphrase:

Bob Porter: Looks like you’ve been missing a lot of SNL lately.
Peter: I wouldn’t say I’ve been missing it, Bob.

I didn't know Jim Carey could imitate dementia. "Slow Joe" versus hyperactive Carey seems a mismatch. Maybe if they have Slow Joe Biden doing lines of coke with Hunter in the skit, then Carey's schtick will make sense.

Regarding Carrey as Biden, I expect this will be awful for several reasons...

1). I expect it will be extremely flattering, going beyond just loving parady. It's well established that Carrey absolutely despises Trump and his supporters and adores any well known progressive figures.

2). Carrey is far, far too over the top for any parady of Biden. He'll inject frentic energy that Biden just doesn't have and never had. It will be cringe inducing even (and maybe even especially) for people who happen to like Biden.

Who? Where?

Dan in Philly said...

People still watch that show?

too bad writing will suck

Jim Carrey will be funny for the first minute. Then it will all be re-runs of The Mask.

I'm glad Carrey could find work, even if it is only SNL.

If there's one thing Democrats need, it is some night time humorists that support Democrats and not Republicans. Definitely a niche that needs to be filled. Kudos, SNL.

Buy all means, keep to you people's safe spaces and boycott SNL. Stick it to the Man

are we sure that wasn't Jim for Joe on Tuesday?

are they physically similar in height etc?

TrespassersW said...

So that's three things--Jen Rubin, Sacha Baron Cohen, and SNL-- AA has posted this morning where my interest can be measured in single-digit Planck lengths.

Charlie Eklund said...

As for me, I’ll be getting ready to ignore Jim Carrey as Joe Biden, along with the rest of the fatally unfunny 21st century
SNL.

Todd said...

Is that still on? Really? Wow. So what have I missed? Nothing you say? Not surprised...

Charlie said...

I can't wait to not watch it.

Leland said...

People still watch broadcast tv? OkBoomer.

Bilwick said...

Like we don't get enough "liberal" agitprop.

Brand said...

Was Carrey Dumb or Dumber? Either way, it seems like typecasting.

SNL = WaPo for late night TV

Browndog said...

Jim Carrey is unfunny. Rubs me the wrong way personality wise to boot.

Manic AF Carrey playing Sloe Joe....

Static Ping said...

SNL is not the cultural icon it used to be and it only resonates with an audience that is the proverbial choir. This has the same impact on me as an announcement of a very special episode on an obscure show that I have never heard of before. Sure. Okay.

Jim Carrey has not been the most mentally stable person for the past decade, so an Andy Kaufman type meltdown is not out of the question. I guess that is something.

It is sticking it to the man, you moron. The liberal establishment owns broadcast media for all intents and purposes. You seem to not think about anything. Is that always the case, or do you have good days?

Todd said...

Just noticed, Jim favors Max Headroom in that photo...

Don't worry Howard.

They wont be hard on your gropey rapist candidate who has taken billions from foreign governments.

They wont actually make fun of him.

They don't want to make you morons uncomfortable.

Pretty sure it isn't a "boycott" if you weren't paying any attention to them in the first place, and then you keep on not paying any attention to them.

Dan in Philly said...

Didn't he lose his mind a few years ago?

gsgodfrey said...

Is it mere coincidence that the Dumb and Dumber actors are playing Comey (Showtime) and Biden (SNL) on TV this month?

JAORE said...

Maybe Jim C. can also use the program to showcase several of those hateful, junior high level scribbles he calls paintings.

Nichevo said...

Jim Carrey, who murdered his girlfriend, I think it was? Phil Spector should have had his lawyers.

naw he just gave her aids,

Bob Loblaw said...

This again. Fortunately it's been many decades since SNL had any say in what's considered cool.

D.D. Driver said...

I would love to see Norm McDonald play Biden. I think he could even get away using his normal voice.

Iman said...

Get down wit yo bad self, narciso!

And keep at it, Howeeeeee.

Good Christmas trees,
Is this stuff still a thing? I was over with him from the Fireman Jim (or Joe or Fred) on 'In Living Colour' I think. He's only year older than me but looks like he went through a wringer, and I'm not a photo model, as my wife will tell you.

Matt Sablan said...

For the notoriously low energy, lazy, boring politician they got Carey? Seems an odd fit.

Bunkypotatohead said...

I wonder if SNL will devote a segment to that video of their pal Rick Moranis getting punched in the face by a vibrant New York citizen wearing a "I heart NY" shirt.

historyDoc said...

Carrey will portray him as a genius actor faking his dementia, much like Phil Hartman portrayed Reagan.
