Just accept the damn prize and say thank you.
With her attitude and guilt, she doesn't deserve the honor. She can go eat a bag of dicks.
What a sad mental poverty. I remember reading Glueck when I was a wee undergrad. Someone who's been writing published poetry for ... 35? ... years should expect and anticipate recognition.
Diversity dogma, not limited to racism, color supremacism denies individual dignity, denies, individual conscience, denies intrinsic value, normalizes color blocs, color quotas, and affirmative discrimination breeds adversity. Unfortunately, structural (e.g. generational) diversity is a progressive condition. They need to lose their Pro-Choice quasi-religion ("ethics").

I don't understand why someone can't just say thank you, this is a wonderful honor, I am grateful and amazed to be recognized in this way. Why does everyone feel the need to proclaim devotion to the current wokeness dogma. It's so incredibly fake, phooey, booey, phony baloney, boney maroney, give me a break, shut up and go away already! She may be a brilliant poet but she's not very smart. She's flabbergasted that words can be appreciated on their own. Propaganda has addled her mind.

welp. now I can promptly forget about her again. Her poems are pretty forgettable, but modern poetry is generally just hacked bits of prose put in a un-proselike format.

As soon as she began reading, I was done. I don't understand why poets think they need to read in that sing-songy breathless voice. I've attended many poetry readings and listened to too many variations on the same song. I prefer to read the written word.

I'm flabbergasted too, but for different reasons. Good that she acknowledges that the Nobel Prize is no longer given based on literary merit or even popularity, but simply *who* you are. She's white, but she's also female, Jewish, and Left-wing. So, 3 pokeman points for her.

The Physics and Chemistry Prizes also went to women. Just this year there seems to be a sudden flowering of women prodigies. There might also be a tilt towards women on the part of the Nobel committee. Maybe Kamala can win the Peace Prize. Make all the winners this year women. That will be a terrific forward step in the empowerment of women.....They should play the national anthem right before the winner takes the stage. That would give Louise an opportunity to take the knee.

I would award rehajm the Nobel Prize for comments on this post, but I have no idea of his, her or they's race, nationality, or gender.
I used to like Gluck enough to buy her early books. But when she went politicial, she became tedious. She's very good on irises, crap on geopolitics.
At least they stopped handing Nobels to French poets. The French cannot and never have been able to write poetry.
