@AA

It's not an 'activist' court that might overturn Roe v. Wade.

It was an activist court that enshrined it...

You're a law professor...you're supposed to know the difference.

Love the blogsite, but have not yet warmed to podcasts. Listened for 30 min with the podcast in the background and found I vastly prefer the written form here. Sometimes on long car trips my wife will suggest a podcast. Some of Malcolm Gladwell's are interesting, though his verbal foibles eventually grind my nerves, like his annoying habit of . . . dropping his voice at the end of sentences (pretend those last 7 words were barely a whisper).

There's something about being talked at without an ability to respond, though I am responding here, later and not in real time, so maybe I will try it again, or will surprise the wife by asking for Althouse next time she suggests a car-ride podcast.

Italy history IS long. Good grief, you're talking about 2,500 years including Rome. And Columbus sailed under a Spanish flag not an Italian one. And Columbus is IMPORTANT. He discovered the western hemisphere and without him there would be no 1776 or United States. There would be no world as we know it.

Sorry but I'd rather be "fearful" and not just blithely assume that Joe Biden, harris, Schumer and Pelosi are lying to everyone and will NOT pack the court. Even if they don't pack the court, they will get rid of the filibuster, expand the number of appeals/district judges, give statehood to PR and DC, and change the election laws to make the R's NEVER win power again. They've done that in Calf. and they do it at the national level. They aren't wishing all these things or engaging in "campaign rhetoric", they are dead serious about it.

Further, Biden has said that one "Day 1" he will issue executive orders putting in gun control, and giving Amnesty to millions of illegals. You can wave your hands and say "Good ol' Joe" isn't going to be so radical, but I'd prefer to take them at their word.

I like the way you expand on things, and go off on tangents.

The natives would beg to differ : )

He just revealed what was already here...

Speaking of dust, my partner and I went running dune buggies through the desert yesterday. It was perfect weather, and what a ball. She screamed "slow down!" and "I'm gonna kill you!" the whole time. It was awesome. Incredible what those vehicles can go over without a problem - unstoppable. We were in a place where you could see at least 30 miles in nearly all directions and not see any sign of human development. Not even a shack or a power line. We stopped at a biker bar in the middle of the desert. No masks, no rules, no problem. Another couple doing the same with us were visiting from Haiti. Talk about culture shock. They seemed to love it.

Well, if by "the podcast" you mean your podcast, I'll comment.

If by "the podcast" you mean this individual podcast, I'll comment but be deleted.

Rush talked about podcasts today. Interesting take from the guy who is gonna make, what, only half a billion?, from traditional Radio.

Rush is a very, very smart man. Definite chip on that shoulder though. I don't get it. Walking away from them at 19 should have been something that removed the chip. Maybe family thing?

So Rush pontificating about podcasts being the prog's way of trying to be talk radio without actually competing with TR is interesting.

Sorry.

Maybe......don't use the "Cafe" word so freely. Especially, with a podcast called "Dust-and-Trash". I mean.....to this crowd......that's a lot like dragging a dollar Bill through the trailer park.

It appears that others are confused as well.

I only realized hours after putting this up that the word “cafe” was a miscue. Won’t use it in a podcast title again.

Yes, Bork made a mistake in thinking the D Senators were there to discuss his views on constitutional law and would vote for him if he showed his views were supported by a well-grounded experience and in-depth knowledge of constitutional law. Of course, we all know that was just a sham. The D Senators - scum like Teddy Kennedy and Hirano - were/are driven by left-wing ideology and power, and it doesn't matter how smart or qualified the R nominee is. Literally NOTHING Bork could've said, would've changed their minds.

That's why these hearings are just silly side-shows. Good for entertainment and nothing else.
