"When police arrested the middle-aged Uighur woman at the height of China’s coronavirus outbreak... she was forced to drink a medicine that made her feel weak and nauseous..."

"... guards watching as she gulped. She and the others also had to strip naked once a week and cover their faces as guards hosed them and their cells down with disinfectant 'like firemen,' she said. 'It was scalding,' recounted the woman by phone from Xinjiang, declining to be named out of fear of retribution. '“My hands were ruined, my skin was peeling.'... [I]n what experts call a breach of medical ethics, some residents [of the Xinjiang region] are being coerced into swallowing traditional Chinese medicine.... There is a lack of rigorous clinical data showing traditional Chinese medicine works against the virus, and one of the herbal remedies used in Xinjiang, Qingfei Paidu, includes ingredients banned in Germany, Switzerland, the U.S. and other countries for high levels of toxins and carcinogens.... [T]he Xinjiang lockdown is especially striking because of its severity, and because there hasn’t been a single new case of local transmission in over a week.... Even as Wuhan and the rest of China has mostly returned to ordinary life, Xinjiang’s lockdown is backed by a vast surveillance apparatus that has turned the region into a digital police state... 'Xinjiang is a police state, so it’s basically martial law,' says Darren Byler, a researcher on the Uighurs at the University of Colorado. 'They think Uighurs can’t really police themselves, they have to be forced to comply in order for a quarantine to be effective.'... In March, the World Health Organization removed guidance on its site saying that herbal remedies were not effective against the virus and could be harmful, saying it was 'too broad.'"

China....the people the Democrats are protecting (calling the virus a European virus when it was from China) and the NBA who bows down to them to keep on making their millions. Are you awake yet?? The Democrats don't care about human rights. If they did, they would start HERE!!!

China has had a very different history to that of the US. That is of course an absurd understatement.

The Chinese have endless oceans of blood in their past. They are, perhaps, of the worlds peoples, those who have digested into their culture the greatest nightmares, going by scale and frequency. Chinese history is cyclical, where every period of progress hits a high point after 2-300 years, and then there is a period of enormous suffering and violence, to the point of massive depopulation. They have survived this over and over of course. But what is left over in the deep personality and culture of the survivors?

This is easy to overlook, on casual or personal aquaintance.

For every ‘civilized’ report coming out of China, demonstrating how great and advanced they are, there are a hundred untold stories how evil the Chinese regime is. Sometimes, one of those stories leaks out.

Frightening to think that China holds so much sway over the UN and WHO that it can control their speech.

If James LeBron and Nike and the NBA say China is okay, that's plenty good enough for me. Stop stirring up trouble.

Biden, Hillary, the Pelosi family - they make lots of money off the Chinese.

Joe Smith म्हणाले...

But Joe likes China...they're his peeps.

When I was in Beijing many years ago (before the Olympics), there were very few westerners in China and our group of 40 or so attracted attention. Part of that was because some of the kids and parents were black and a novelty to the Chinese. We were there for an event that was important to the prestige of the Chinese government and it was part of showing the world what good neighbors they could be.

It was impressed upon us not to break any laws, no matter how small. But we were assured that we would be safe no matter where we went. I spoke to another dad about the safety aspect (he was a veteran of federal law enforcement). He said not to worry, if any Chinese citizen even looked at us sideways they'd be spending the next 20 years doing hard labor.

They didn't fuck around back then and they certainly don't now.

Courage.

Democrats? no way. No principles. Selfish cowards with no moral backbone. Too busy whining over the Hatch Act to care. Too busy promoting the destruction of whole cities by their brownshirted nazi storm troopers.

In line with what Buwaya says above at 8:27AM, this is sadly small potatoes on the scale of systemic evil by a Chinese regime. Trust me when I tell you, whatever we're not hearing about is no doubt much worse.

I imagine that a decade or so after this we'll start to hear about the real body count from the Han/Communist Chinese's suppression of the Uighurs. I expect the death toll to be in the millions.

Gojuplyr831@gmail.com म्हणाले...

To be fair, diversity dogma of the Pro-Choice quasi-religion ("ethics") normalized by the Progressive Church is a progressive condition. Stand against diversity, stand against color judgments, class-based taxonomic systems, processes, and beliefs.
