One more day of August, but summer seems over already, with sunrise getting later and later. Great photo though.

Note the puffs of wind on the water several yards out. Looks like they are coming over your shoulder from the land to the water. We had a similar scene here this morning on the ocean looking east. The air was dry and clear, the sea was deep blue, you could see for miles. Very much an autumn vibe in the air. Went for a walk at low tide this afternoon, water was lovely, sun was warming, the air was cool.

This arrived on my music device as I walked the beach. Seems so quaint in today's riled up times.

"A Little Bit Of Everything"
- Dawes

With his back against the San Francisco traffic
On the bridge's side that faces towards the jail
Setting out to join a demographic
He hoists his first leg up over the rail

A phone call's made, police cars show up quickly
The sergeant slams his passenger door
He says, "Hey son why don't you talk through this with me?
Just tell me what you're doing it for."

"Oh, it's a little bit of everything
It's the mountains, it's the fog
It's the news at six o'clock
It's the death of my first dog."

"It's the angels up above me
It's the song that they don't sing
It's a little bit of everything."

There's an older man who stands in a buffet line,
He is smiling and he's holding out his plate,
And the further he looks back into his timeline
That hard road always led him to today,

Making up for when his bright future had left him
Making up for the fact his only son is gone,
And letting everything out once, his server asks him
"Have you figured out yet, what it is you want?"

I want a little bit of everything
The biscuits and the beans
Whatever helps me to forget about
The things that brought me to my knees

So pile on those mashed potatoes
And an extra chicken wing
I'm having a little bit of everything

Somewhere a pretty girl is writing invitations
To a wedding she has scheduled for the fall
Her man says, "Baby, can I make an observation?
You don't seem to be having any fun at all."

She said, "You just worry about your groomsmen and your shirt-size
And rest assured that this is making me feel good."
I think that love is so much easier than you realize
If you can give yourself to someone, then you should

'Cause it's a little bit of everything
The way you joke, the way you ache,
It is getting up before you,
So I could watch you as you wake.

So on that day in late September,
It's not some stupid little ring,
I'm getting a little bit of everything.

Oh, it's a little bit of everything
It's the matador and the bull
It's the suggested daily dosage
It's the red moon when it's full.

All these psychics and these doctors
They're alright and they're all wrong,
It's like trying to make out every word
When they should simply hum along

It's not some message written in the dark
Or some truth that no one's seen
It's a little bit of everything

I'm worried about China.
China has an interest in electing Joe Biden, or anyone not named Donald Trump, as president.
I keep seeing short pieces on TV about aggressive Chinese behavior, similar to BLM, to provoke our government into hasty action that will be portrayed by our ever-traitorous media as brutal or warlike. That will scare all the on-the-fence suburban housewives into the Dem camp, and assure Biden's election.
So far, PDJT has not taken the seditious bait set out by BLM, and has let them Burn, Loot, and Murder in their own Democratic neighborhoods.
I don't know what the analogous move would be if they Chinese shoot one of their carrier killer missiles at one of our ships.
Maybe have our carrier groups stay our of range until Nov 4?
China can ill afford a trade war with the USA, let alone a shooting war, but it would not be the first time one of our adversaries did something suicidally stupid.
Like BLM.

Is Kung flu on the roof? (reprising the old "The cat is on the roof joke)

I've seen two things today which on top of an announcement earlier this week makes me think it may be.

I've been saying for a while that I thought in 3-4 years time we would find we have been played wuflu. I thought it would turn out that the death and case statistics would be dialed back by 50 percent.

I may have been wrong on timing and degree. I think we will find, in the next month or two, that they will be dialed back by 70-90%.

Item H/T The Gateway Pundit:

Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death. The number of deaths with each condition or cause is shown for all deaths and by age groups.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm?fbclid=IwAR2-muRM3tB3uBdbTrmKwH1NdaBx6PpZo2kxotNwkUXlnbZXCwSRP2OmqsI

Just 6% of the 170m US reported deaths were from Kung flu. The other 94% were from multiple reasons each with the Chinese virus.

Only about 10,000 deaths from wuflu.

Next Item H/T Insty:

NYT reports that as many as 90% of positive test results are false. 90%.

Apparently, if you torture the test enough, it will tell you whatever you want it to. If you run the test enough cycles, it will find kungflu in an overripe banana. Run enough cycles, and every single person in the country will test positive and, even more importantly, goose the stats by being reported as positive.

This article explains how it works.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/29/health/coronavirus-testing.html

Earlier this week it was fairly widely reported that CDC had revised their testing guidelines. They are now recommending against asymptomatic persons being tested. With a few exceptions such as a doctor thinking it is needed.

So I'm beginning to think we are at the beginning of a massive walkback. Or, as Emily Letilla might say "Nevermind"

Covid is on the roof and we can't get it down.

I think he is doing it for political reasons as well as Constitutional reasons. He has repeatedly said that he would have federal law enforcement on the ground and the situation under control in 24 hours.

All they have to do is ask.

The response? This somewhat nasty letter from the mayor of Portland saying "No Thank you". I think it will make one Hell of a political ad. Get a ted Wheeler impersonator to read it against a backdrop of destroyed buildings, fires, shootings and so on.

Dear President Trump:

Yet again, you said you offered to aid Portland by sending in federal law enforcement to our city.

On behalf of the City of Portland: No thanks.

We don’t need your politics of division and demagoguery. Portlanders are onto you. We have already seen your reckless disregard for human life in your bumbling response to the COVID pandemic. And we know you’ve reached the conclusion that images of violence or vandalism are your only ticket to reelection.

There is no place for looting, arson, or vandalism in our city. There is no room here for racist violence or those who wish to bring their ideology of hate into our community. Those who commit criminal acts will be apprehended and prosecuted under the law.

Tens of thousands of Portlanders have peacefully protested and marched for the noble cause of fixing our broken criminal justice system. They are part of the proud progressive tradition of Portlanders fighting for justice - from racial justice to economic justice to environmental justice.

When you sent the Feds to Portland last month, you made the situation far worse. Your offer to repeat that disaster is a cynical attempt to stoke fear and distract us from the real work of our city.

In Portland, we are focused on coming together as a community to solve the serious challenges we face due to systemic racism, a global pandemic and an economic recession.

Stay away, please.

Carlos Osweda's twitter threads are almost always interesting, except when he talks about his mental health.

He seems to spend all his time watching videos and catching tiny details that most people miss. For example, today he has some pictures of the Trumper who got shot in Portland. He is the only one who zoomed in to show what he was wearing.

Assault gloves - Fingerless padded gloves with metal or plastic armor over the knuckles. Great for hitting people with.

https://twitter.com/COsweda/status/1300155865127813121/photo/1

In the same picture it also shows:

Plastic body armor - it seems to be made for motorcyclists and snowboarders. Dense foam/plastic plates over chest and stomach.

Both available at Amazon via the portal! Be sure to buy all your riot supplies via the portal.

Thread is here https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1300152840954867712.html

For some reason the pics load on my tablet but not on my PC.

I had no idea that it was this bad. The street level pics I've seen do not begin to do the level of arson justice.

He opines that these were not caused by casual arson with molotov cocktails. He believes trained operatives (Not USG) using high grade incendiaries.

My 12 channel audio mixer board died after 25 years of 24/7 operation. Fortunately I had an out-of-service 16 channel board that's compatible, and put it in in an hour of labelling wires and brushing off dense dust bunnies and swapping. It controls which computer feeds into a small FM transmitter whence it is heard throughout the house; or the backyard bird microphone, or clock radio for recording Rush. I can in addition listen, on a local speaker bar, to any of the other sound sources at the same time.

Behringer Eurorack MX 1604A. It lets me add two more computers if that comes up someday.

There's a dust-bunny encrusted thicket of isolation transformers on each line that slowed things down a lot.

It’s not true, not in the way you are interpreting it. What the CDC said was that the viral load of 90% of the positive tests was below the threshold of what should be considered a positive result. Those people did have COVID, but such a mild case that they shouldn’t have worried anybody about it and didn’t need to go into quarantine.

Great essay by Fernadez, elites and the marginalized in the same party:

"But the tension was always just beneath the surface and the amounts of virtue signaling required increased until it became unsustainable. The Social Justice Warriors were perpetually busy saving the marginalized from one new peril after the other as if the world was in continuous emergency and menaced by Nazis, racists, KKK, and Fascists at every turn."

He's writing about the blacks and the riots by context but think how well it applies to women, the dems' target audience. It's women who require the stroking, not the blacks.

Women love the messages. The elites mean well.

And yet, most women vote Democrat, the party of gun confiscations and police defunding.
Analogous to burning down your own city, or raising taxes so high that all the taxpayers leave.

So what is the effective difference between that and just not having it?

The bigger point is that people such as these who died of other things were still wrongly labeled as Covid deaths.

As I asked in another thread, why would we want the data so badly polluted that it becomes worse than meaningless. That was a decision by someone.

Kind of a big "Duh!" there for anyone who know history.

CONELRAD in the 50s required hams to monitor broadcast stations and go off the air if they do. Russian bombers were thought to home in on radio stations, potentially, to navigate.

A shifting collection of broadcast stations would then broadcast public stuff on two conelrad frequencies, but the Russian bombers wouldn't know which station it was or where the station was.

Except that's just wrong. If you had the virus in your blood that's a positive. It doesn't matter that it was low-level and you were asymptomatic. You were in fact infected.

And it's kind of important to know this by the way. This means you have the Covid-19 T cells and you are probably never going to be seriously threatened by this virus. You may get it again but it will likely be another minor deal, minor infection.
