Or have a big Mac with two scoops of ice cream -like Trump.

I bought sparkling wine (the California version of Champagne) at Costco last week. It came in a pack of four cans equivalent to two 750ml bottles.

I am nothing if not rich and classy.

To be called provincial after quoting Nikola Tesla is quite touching. Loved the pinky gesture while drinking the working man's cup o' joe. New York in the late '70s? Yes, deadly serious.

P.S. About $12.

I honestly don't think the rich sit around and drink Champagne. Maybe a Screaming Eagle or Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon, or perhaps a Gaja Barolo. Or even (gasp) a fine single malt scotch or small batch bourbon.

Shoot. Am I giving myself away?

“The four most over-rated things in life are champagne, lobster, anal sex, and picnics.”

"Champagne is not champagne unless it comes from the province of Champagne. I learned that in bartending school."

Losing the joi de vivre is forever the worst way for a man to go. As I recall that was the sole reason that God created Eve and presented her to Adam who had been losing his living alone in that Garden.

Is this a cafe post? If so, may I place this very amusing short video here? It'll make you laugh -- even if you're a Dem (assuming you're a Dem who enjoys parodies).

I think the whole anal sex thing depends upon your 'perspective,' as it were. Tom Seaver or Yogi Berra?

Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen

That old song from the Rückert Lieder never felt as relevant as it does today when watching the news.

Mojitos.

“The four most over-rated things in life are champagne, lobster, anal sex, and picnics.”

The old-fashioned sense and practice was to dominate men and women, to cultivate boys and girls, through the back hole, but with social progress, it has been normalized.

What are remarkable scene. It is so vividly true to life. It is complex and there is an astonishing depth behind what is being said.

There's a thought I have had over and over again, and this reminds me of it yet again, of how well people, or at least some people, in the fairly recent past used to understood human nature.

You just don't see this today. Every modern movie, even the best of them, has a gloss of unreality cast upon it.

I don't think you are supposed to do them all at the same time. Maybe that's where he went wrong...

Very much enjoyed this, and how it relates to the song text. People should give a thought to what their song would be like.
-----
I am lost to the world
With which I used to waste so much time
It has heard nothing from me for so long
It may well believe that I am dead

I am not at all concerned
If it takes me for dead
I can hardly deny it
For I really am dead to the world

I am dead to the world’s turmoil
And I rest in a quiet realm
I live alone in my heaven
In my love, in my song

The Godfather म्हणाले...

I have enjoyed champagne, lobster, and (sometimes) picnics. I can’t comment on anal sex from personal experience, but John Barth made a strong case for it in “The Sotweed Factor”, which every student of American colonial history ought to read.

Unlike me I watched the video. Somewhat depressing, an odor of past failure. Progressives complaining of barren lives.
